• Grails: can remoteField update multiple fields?

    - by Michael Bavin
Hi, Assume i have a book entity with an isbn field. When entered a isbn number, i want 2 fields to be updated: title and author. My controller looks like this: def ajaxGetBook = { def book = Book.findByIsbn(params.isbn) if(book==null) book = new Book() render book as JSON } So my call works, and i get a full JSON Book. Now i would like to update 2 texfields by the update attribute <g:remoteField action="ajaxGetBook" update="title" name="isbn" value="${bookInstance?.book?.isbn}" paramName="isbn"/> Now the title field gets updated with the full book object, so that doesn't work. Is it possible to update field title with only the JSON book.title? Is it possible to update more fields at once? I could render book.title as JSON but that works for only one field. Thank you

  • Javascript auto calculating with (+) and (-)

    - by Josh
I need some help finding the error in my javascript calculation. I need to calculate the sum of my input boxes automatically and have my user be able to edit the calculation using + or - buttons. The code I have already does the calculation automatically if you manually enter the numbers, but pressing the + or - does not change the calculation. Here is the code:

  1:
2:
3:

Total:

Im sure the issue must be small, I just cant put my finger on it.

  • MySQL Returns wrong values on SELECT statement

    - by Andrew K
All, I'm wondering if this is a MySQL bug, but since I've seen others playing with larger numbers than this, I'm thinking I'm doing something wrong here. Here is my table structure for the table I'm querying: mysql describe ipspace6\G ************* 1. row ************* Field: id Type: decimal(39,0) unsigned Null: NO Key: Default: NULL Extra: ************* 2. row ************* Field: addr Type: decimal(39,0) unsigned Null: NO Key: PRI Default: 0 Extra: ************* 3. row ************* Field: netmask Type: decimal(39,0) unsigned Null: NO Key: Default: 0 Extra: ************* 4. row ************* Field: subnet Type: int(4) Null: NO Key: Default: NULL Extra: Now, I run a simple SELECT statement against the "id" column: mysql SELECT id FROM ipspace6 WHERE id='50552019118453823914642686339427860480'; +----------------------------------------+ | id | +----------------------------------------+ | 50552019118453823730175245602332344320 | | 50552019118453823730175245602332344320 | | 50552019118453823914642686339427860480 | | 50552019118453823914642686339427860480 | +----------------------------------------+ ...What the heck is going on here? Two of these results are valid, and two definitely are not. It's not like I'm doing some super-complex nested query or anything, this is simple stuff, and it's driving me insane. Help, anyone?

I replaced the field of type Y with a field of type X in class X and it works.

  • Allow a new line anywhere in the regex?

    - by Scott Chamberlain
I am having a find a replace in a bunch of RTF documents, The basic pattern I need is \{(?:\\\*)?\\field\\fldlock\{\\\*\\fldinst ?MERGEFIELD ?((?:\\.*?)?[\w\[\]]+?)(?:\\.*?)?\}(?:\{\\fldrslt\})?\} However I then found out there could potentialy be a newline before each slash, so it turned in to this. \{(?:\s*\\\*)?\s*\\field\s*\\fldlock\s*\{\s*\\\*\s*\\fldinst\s*MERGEFIELD\s*((?:\\.*?)?[\w\[\]]+?(?:\s*\\.*?)?)?\s*\}(?:\s*\{\s*\\fldrslt\s*\})?\s*\} But then I hit this it fails fees totaling $\protect {\field\fldlock{\*\fldinst MERGEFIELD ENTEROUTSTANDINGVETERINARYF EES}}\plain\f0\fs24\prot Is there way have to have it match a new line anywhere in the search too without adding (?:\r?\n)? everywhere? EDIT To clear up confusion on the new lines. I need to keep the newlines in the document, I only want to remove the newlines if they are inside my match, so in the final example I posted it should replace fees totaling $\protect {\field\fldlock{\*\fldinst MERGEFIELD ENTEROUTSTANDINGVETERINARYF EES}}\plain\f0\fs24\prot with fees totaling $\protect ENTEROUTSTANDINGVETERINARYFEES\plain\f0\fs24\prot

  • Java saying XML Document Not Well Formed

    - by Pyroclastic
    Hey all. Java's XML parser seems to be thinking that my XML document is not well formed following the root element, but I've validated it with several tools and they all disagree. It's probably an error in my code rather than in the document itself, I'd really appreciate any help you all could offer me. Here is my Java method: private void loadFromXMLFile(File f) throws ParserConfigurationException, IOException, SAXException { File file = f; DocumentBuilderFactory dbf = DocumentBuilderFactory.newInstance(); DocumentBuilder db; Document doc = null; db = dbf.newDocumentBuilder(); doc = db.parse(file); doc.getDocumentElement().normalize(); String desc = ""; String due = ""; String comment = ""; NodeList tasksList = doc.getElementsByTagName("task"); for (int i = 0; i < tasksList.getLength(); i++) { NodeList attributes = tasksList.item(i).getChildNodes(); for (int j = 0; i < attributes.getLength(); j++) { Node attribute = attributes.item(i); if (attribute.getNodeName() == "description") { desc = attribute.getTextContent(); } if (attribute.getNodeName() == "due") { due = attribute.getTextContent(); } if (attribute.getNodeName() == "comment") { comment = attribute.getTextContent(); } tasks.add(new Task(desc, due, comment)); } desc = ""; due = ""; comment = ""; } } And here is the XML file I'm trying to load:  <tasklist> <task>
Task 1
<due>Due date 1</due> <comment>Comment 1</comment> <completed>false</completed> </task> <task>
Task 2
<due>Due date 2</due> <comment>Comment 2</comment> <completed>false</completed> </task> <task>
Task 3
<due>Due date 3</due> <comment>Comment 3</comment> <completed>true</completed> </task> </tasklist> And here is the error message java is throwing for me: run: [Fatal Error] tasks.xml:28:3: The markup in the document following the root element must be well-formed. Any advice is appreciated!

  • Solr 'text' fields not accepting wild-cards

    - by MarcoPolo
Hi, I am trying to search on a field declared as 'text' using the wildcard '*' but am getting mixed results. Basically, it seems to me that it's stripping off the '*' character and isn't handling numbers or spaces well. I'm using the 'text' field type for case insensitive fields but after running an analysis, am starting to think itmight be the wrong type to use as it runs a lot more filters when compared with the string field. Basically all I want is a field type that can index or search on lowercase only with spaces stripped out (and works with wildcards). Is such a type available? Thanks MARCO

  • Django Forms save_m2m

    - by John
Hi I have a model which has 2 many to many fields in it. one is a standard m2m field which does not use any through tables whereas the other is a bit more complecated and has a through table. I am using the Django forms.modelform to display and save the forms. The code I have to save the form is if form.is_valid(): f = form.save(commit=False) f.modified_by = request.user f.save() form.save_m2m() When i try to save the form I get the following error: Cannot set values on a ManyToManyField which specifies an intermediary model. I know this is happening when I do the form.save_m2m() because of the through table. What I'd liek to do is tell Django to ignore the m2m field with the through table but still save the m2m field without the through table. I can then go on to manually save the data for the through table field. Thanks

  • Having onFocus do several things.

    - by Jakob
So I have this input tag <input ... onFocus=...> and what I want is for a warning popup to come up if somebody clicks to write in the input field. After the person has read the warning he/she closes the popup and can continue to write in the field. I have managed to implement the popup just fine but my problem is that I lose focus on the input field when the popup comes up so the next time I click the field the popup comes back again and im back on square one. The system I work on uses php and javascript so and I cannot use anything other than that to solve the problem and my experience with both php and javascript is limited.

  • JAX-B annotations for elements that inherit from a parent

  • Freemarker rendering differently on IE8

    - by scphantm
we have a template that uses this for the record line <input type="${inputType}" name="${variableName}.code" id="${variable}.${vnum}.${answer.code}" class="checkbox" value="${answer.code}" [#nested/] [#if (answer.textLength > 0) && scripting]onchange="showOtherBox( this, '${variable}.[#if descriptionHack]${variableNumber}[#else]${vnum}[/#if].${answer.code}.description' )"[/#if] [#if showValues && (existing == answer.code)]checked="checked"[/#if]/> On IE8 it renders as this Award(s) for special accomplishment or performance related to activity participation (please list) and on every other browser we tried, it renders as this Award(s) for special accomplishment or performance related to activity participation (please list) The difference being that in the FTL script, the if statement [#if (answer.textLength > 0) && scripting] is true for everything except IE. In IE8 its false for some reason and therefore it does not put the OnChange javascript event on the input tag. Has anyone seen anything like this before? we are using Freemarker 2.3.9 Update, it kinda works if i turn compatibility mode on for IE8. but not exactly. when i do that, the onchange event doesn't fire until the check box loses focus. which is very different than everything else. Is there a quick way to fix this without too much trouble? i suppose i could put something in that says if ie8, insert onclick instead of onchange. that may work, but i would need an authorization from the client to fix it like that.

  • Query with UDF works in Access but gives Undefined function in expression (Err 3085) in Excel

    - by ronwest
I have an Access table with a date/time field. I wanted to make a composite Key field out of the date/time field and 3 other text fields in the same format as the matching Key field in another database. So I concatenated the 3 text fields and wrote a User-Defined-Function in a Module to output the date field as a string in the format "YYYYMMDD". Public Function YYYYMMDD(dteDate As Date) As String YYYYMMDD = Format(dteDate, "YYYYMMDD") End Function I can then successfully run my queries in Access and it all works fine. But when I set up some DAO code in Excel and try to run the query that works fine within Access... db.Execute "qryMake_tblValsDailyAccount" ...Excel gives me the "Undefined function in expression. (Error 3085)" error. To me this is a bug in Excel and/or Access, because the (Excel) client shouldn't need to know anything about the internal calculations that normally take place perfectly in the (Access) server when in isolation. Excel should send the querydef (name with no parameters) to the server, let the server do its work then receive the answers. Why does it need to get involved with a function internal to the server? Does anyone know a way around this?

  • How do I prevent my table cell's textview from being editable after editing is done?

    - by Gorgando
So this is an interesting problem. I have custom tableviewcells that include a text field. When In my cellForRowAtIndexPath I have an if statement that determines whether or not the cell's text field should be editable- it looks like this: (self.isEditing) ? [infoCell.textField setEnabled:YES] : [infoCell.textField setEnabled:NO]; This actually works well - except for the issue I'm having. It makes it so that when the tableview is displayed, the rows' text field cannot be edited. When the user clicks "Edit" to put it into editing mode, then the text fields are enabled for editing. The Problem: When I am editing a field, and click "Done", it goes back to the regular tableview but the keyboard stays visible and the last cell's text field I was editing continues to be editable. What Should happen: The keyboard should go away and all the cells' text fields should no longer be editable. Any ideas about what could be going wrong? Things to look for? Thanks!

  • How to decide between a method or event?

    - by Wil
I read something ages ago I think by Jon Skeet (which I can't find now) saying that in IL, all events get converted to methods... it was before I understood C# and did not understand it all, but if that is (or even if it isn't) the gist of it.... In a purely hypothetical situation, I was wondering if someone could explain or point me to a resource that says when to use an event over a method? Basically, If I want to have a big red/green status picture which is linked to a Bool field, and I wanted to change it based on the value of the bool, should I: a) Have a method called Changepicture which is linked to the field and changes the state of the bool and the picture. b) Have a get/set part to the field and stick an event in the set part. c) Have a get/set part to the field and stick a method in the set part. d) Other?

  • Copy a value based on criteria Salesforce

    - by Robert
Hi all, On a Salesforce.com opportunity I have a number of custom fields that are potential options that the end client will eventually select. Option 1 (Desc Field) Option 1 (Value) Option 2 (Desc Field) Option 2 (Value) Option 3 (Desc Field) Option 3 (Value) At a future point the user will ultimately choose one of the options as the preferred option. What I want is then the value for the chosen option to be stored in another field without the user having to enter it again. A “nice to have” would also be that all 3 option descriptions, values and selected value are locked once this is done. Any ideas?

  • How to get the class of an input inside a jQuery each loop?

    - by Paul Atkins
Hi, I have function which appends inputs inside a list item when a link is clicked. I then loop through these inputs using an each loop using the code below. It is working correctly as shown, however instead of using field.name I want to use the class of the input as the array key but when i try to do this the class is shown as undefined. Here is the code I am currently using: var values = {}; $.each($('li :input').serializeArray(), function(i, field) { values[field.name] = field.value; }); Here is the code I have inside the list item once I have appended the hidden inputs using jQuery append:

I can get the name attribute fine but class is always undefined. Could anybody help with this?
