  • Error when creating JFrame from JFrame

    - by Aly
Hi, I have an application that is works fine and the JFrame for it is launched in the constructor of a GameInitializer class which takes in some config parameters. I have tried to create a GUI in which allows the user to specify these config parameters and then click submit. When the user clicks submit a new GameInitializer object is created. The error I am getting is: Exception in thread "AWT-EventQueue-0" java.lang.Error: Cannot call invokeAndWait from the event dispatcher thread at java.awt.EventQueue.invokeAndWait(Unknown Source) at javax.swing.SwingUtilities.invokeAndWait(Unknown Source) at game.player.humanplayer.view.HumanView.update(HumanView.java:43) once submit is called this code is executed: values assigned to parames... new GameInitializer(userName, player, Constants.BLIND_STRUCTURE_FILES.get(blindStructure), handState); Then code in the GameInitializer constructor is: public GameInitializer(String playerName, AbstractPlayer opponent, String blindStructureConfig, AbstractHandState handState){ beginGame(playerName, opponent, blindStructureConfig, handState); } public static void beginGame(String playerName, AbstractPlayer opponent, String blindStructureConfig, AbstractHandState handState){ AbstractDealer dealer; BlindStructure.initialize(blindStructureConfig); AbstractPlayer humanPlayer = new HumanPlayer(playerName, handState); AbstractPlayer[] players = new AbstractPlayer[2]; players[0] = humanPlayer; players[1] = opponent; handState.setTableLayout(players); for(AbstractPlayer player : players){ player.initialize(); } dealer = new Dealer(players, handState); dealer.beginGame(); } It basically cascades down and eventually calls this piece of code in the HumanView class: public void update(final Event event, final ReadableHandState handState, final AbstractPlayer player) { try { SwingUtilities.invokeAndWait(new Runnable() { public void run() { gamePanel.update(event, handState, player); validate(); } }); } catch (InterruptedException e) { e.printStackTrace(); } catch (InvocationTargetException e) { e.printStackTrace(); } if(event.equals(Event.HAND_ENDING)){ try { if(handState.wonByShowdown() || handState.isSplitPot()){ Thread.sleep(3500); } else{ Thread.sleep(1000); } } catch (InterruptedException e) { e.printStackTrace(); } } } Do you have any idea why?

  • Spring-json problem in Liferay with Spring 2.5

    - by Jesus Benito
Hi all, I am trying to use the library spring-json.1.3.1 in a project that has been done with Liferay 5.1.2 which includes Spring 2.5. Following the project website instructions, I managed to make the request hit in my controller, but at the moment of returning the json object back through the modelAndView object it fails with the following error: java.lang.IllegalArgumentException at com.liferay.portlet.MimeResponseImpl.setContentType(MimeResponseImpl.java:162) I have checked Liferays source code, and it checks that contentType that its being set is in a harcoded list,if it not it will throw a IllegalArgumentException that it is exactly what os happening. This is my view resolver code: <bean id="xmlFileViewResolver" class="org.springframework.web.servlet.view.XmlViewResolver"> /WEB-INF/context/views.xml 1 My views.xml code: <beans> <bean name="jsonView" class="org.springframework.web.servlet.view.json.JsonView"/> And my controller: @SuppressWarnings("unchecked") @Override public ModelAndView handleRenderRequest(RenderRequest arg0, RenderResponse arg1) throws Exception { Map model = new HashMap(); model.put("firstname", "Peter"); model.put("secondname", "Schmitt"); return new ModelAndView("jsonView", model); } Any ideas?

  • How do I best handle a needed patch for Perl/Tk?

    - by Streamline
I am making a change to Perl/Tk for an application that has its own resident Perl and modules installation (so we can drop the app in and go). • Possible to programatically access X-Mms-Content-Location?

    - by Brad Hein
    Is it possible to access the X-Mms-Content-Location attribute of a message from a MMS message programatically, using the Android SDK? This is one example of the error that I am investigating. If I can access that attribute, then I may be able to code an app which repairs it so the message retrieval succeeds. 04-26 19:11:35.573 V/RetrieveTransaction( 299): X-Mms-Content-Location: http://69.78.70..70/servlets/mms?message-id=<GUID_REMOVED_FOR_PRIVACY> <snip> 04-26 19:11:35.783 I/InetAddress( 299): Unknown host 69.78.70..70, throwing UnknownHostException 04-26 19:11:35.793 V/RetrieveTransaction( 299): Unexpected IOException. 04-26 19:11:35.793 V/RetrieveTransaction( 299): java.io.IOException: Cannot establish route for http://69.78.70..70/servlets/mms?message-id=<GUID_REMOVED_FOR_PRIVACY>: Unknown host 04-26 19:11:35.793 V/RetrieveTransaction( 299): at com.android.mms.transaction.Transaction.ensureRouteToHost(Transaction.java:206) 04-26 19:11:35.793 V/RetrieveTransaction( 299): at com.android.mms.transaction.Transaction.getPdu(Transaction.java:171) 04-26 19:11:35.793 V/RetrieveTransaction( 299): at com.android.mms.transaction.RetrieveTransaction.run(RetrieveTransaction.java:147) 04-26 19:11:35.793 V/RetrieveTransaction( 299): at java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java:1058) 04-26 19:11:35.793 E/RetrieveTransaction( 299): Retrieval failed.

  • IE7 - visited links revert to unvisted after page refresh

    - by Gerald
Hello, A number of our users have just upgraded from IE6 to IE7. the upgreaded users are reporting an issue with visited links reverting to their unvisited color after a page refresh. This only happens to links that are using javascript instead of a hard coded URL: <script lang="JavaScript"> <!-- function LoadGoogle() { var LoadGoogle = window.open('http://www.google.com'); } --> </script> <a href="javascript:LoadGoogle()">Google using javascript</a> <a href="#" OnClick="javascript:LoadGoogle()">Google using javascript OnClick</a> The above links will revert back to the unvisited color whenever the page is refreshed. It doesn't matter if the page is refreshed because of a post back, manually hitting the refresh or f5 button, or from an auto-refresh function. Please note, the above code is an over simplification of what is actually happening, but I believe it illustrates the issue well enough. This is causing a problem for our users because we are providing them with a list of items that are all opened into new windows via javascript when they are clicked; and refresh the parent page when the users are finished with them. Each time the parent page is refreshed all of these links revert back to their unvisited color, so our users are losing track of which items they've worked on. I've been digging around and it looks like this is intended behavior. IE7 doesn't register these links with the browsers history. Does anyone know a work around that will allow us to keep these javascript links in the visited state without having to do a major overhaul of the apps code? Thank you.

  • How to load static files from view HTML in web2py?

    - by MikeWyatt
Given a view with layout, how can I load static files (CSS and JS, essentially) into the <head> from the view file? layout.html <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xml:lang="{{=T.accepted_language or 'en'}}"> <head> <title>{{=response.title or request.application}}</title> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8" /> <!-- include requires CSS files {{response.files.append(URL(request.application,'static','base.css'))}} {{response.files.append(URL(request.application,'static','ez-plug-min.css'))}} --> {{include 'web2py_ajax.html'}} </head> <body> {{include}} </body> </html> myview.html {{extend 'layout.html'}} {{response.files.append(URL(r=request,c='static',f='myview.css'))}} <h1>Some header</h1> <div> some content </div> In the above example, the "myview.css" file is either ignored by web2py or stripped out by the browser. So what is the best way to load page-specific files like this CSS file? I'd rather not stuff all my static files into my layout.

  • Java FileLock for Reading and Writing

    - by bobtheowl2
I have a process that will be called rather frequently from cron to read a file that has certain move related commands in it. My process needs to read and write to this data file - and keep it locked to prevent other processes from touching it during this time. A completely separate process can be executed by a user to (potential) write/append to this same data file. I want these two processes to play nice and only access the file one at a time. The nio FileLock seemed to be what I needed (short of writing my own semaphore type files), but I'm having trouble locking it for reading. I can lock and write just fine, but when attempting to create lock when reading I get a NonWritableChannelException. Is it even possible to lock a file for reading? Seems like a RandomAccessFile is closer to what I need, but I don't see how to implement that. Here is the code that fails: FileInputStream fin = new FileInputStream(f); FileLock fl = fin.getChannel().tryLock(); if(fl != null) { System.out.println("Locked File"); BufferedReader in = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(fin)); System.out.println(in.readLine()); ... The exception is thrown on the FileLock line. java.nio.channels.NonWritableChannelException at sun.nio.ch.FileChannelImpl.tryLock(Unknown Source) at java.nio.channels.FileChannel.tryLock(Unknown Source) at Mover.run(Mover.java:74) at java.lang.Thread.run(Unknown Source) Looking at the JavaDocs, it says Unchecked exception thrown when an attempt is made to write to a channel that was not originally opened for writing. But I don't necessarily need to write to it. When I try creating a FileOutpuStream, etc. for writing purposes it is happy until I try to open a FileInputStream on the same file.

  • NoSuchMethodError in Java using XStream

I'm trying to save a database into a file using XStream and then open it again later using XStream and deserialize it back into the objects it was in previously. The database consists of an arraylist of tables, which consists of an arraylist of a data class where the data class contains an arraylist of objects. I'm basically trying to create an sql compiler. • Problem with apostrophes and other special characters when using aspell in windows

    - by Loftx
Hi there, We seem to be having a problem with the spell checker on our content management system where it marks the ve part of We’ve as a misspelling. The spellchecker uses aspell which is called from a script on the server which executes the cmd.exe and uses it to pipe a file into aspell (it's a long winded way I know, but our server side programming langauge (ColdFusion) doesn't support writing to stdin for executables). Aspell is called by executing: c:\windows\system32\cmd.exe /c type d:\path_to_file\file.txt | "C:\Program Files\Aspell\bin\aspell" --lang=en -a Where file.txt contains the text to be spelled e.g. ^Oh have We’ve (the carat is added to prevent piping problems I believe). Aspell then output: @(#) International Ispell Version 3.1.20 (but really Aspell 0.50.3) * * * & ve 62 12: vie, voe, V, v, veg, vet, Be, Ce, be, Ev, E, e, vex, VA, VI, Va, Vi, vi, we, VD, VF, VG, VJ, VP, VT, Vt, vb, vs, DE, De, Fe, GE, Ge, He, IE, Le, ME, Me, NE, Ne, OE, PE, Re, SE, Se, Te, Xe, he, me, re, ye, Ave, Eve, Ive, ave, eve, VAR, var, veer, vier, view, vow However, we have a dev site, with the same version of Aspell, and when the same file is used it outputs with no misspellings. Both servers are running Aspell 0.50.3 on Windows server 2003, but there could be other differences in configuration: @(#) International Ispell Version 3.1.20 (but really Aspell 0.50.3) I'm wondering if the problem is to do with the piping part of the process or something different in the Aspell configuration. Does anyone have any ideas? Cheers, Tom

  • Using HttpClient with SSL and certificates

    - by ChrisCM
While I've been familiar with HTTPS and the concept of SSL, I have recently begun some development and found I am a little confused. The requirement was that I write a small Java application that runs on a machine attached to a scanner. When a document is scanned this is picked up and the file (usually PDF) sent over the internet to our application server that will then process it. I've written the application using Apache Commons libraries and HTTPClient. The second requirement was to connect over SSL, requiring a certificate. Following guidance on the HTTPclient page I am using AuthSSLProtocolSocketFactory from the contributions page. The constructor can take a keystore, keystore password, truststore and truststore password. As an initial test our DBA enabled SSL on one of our development webservers and provided me with a .p12 file which when I imported into IE allows me to connect successfully. I am a bit confused between keystores and truststores and what steps I need to take using the keytool. I tried importing the p12 into a keystore file but get the error: keytool error: java.lang.Exception: Input not an X.509 certificate I followed a suggestion of importing the p12 into Internet Explorer and exporting as a .cer which I can then successfully import into a keystore. When I supply this as a keystore argument of the AuthSSLProtocolSocketFactory I get a meaningless errror, but if I try it as a truststore it seems like it reads it fine but ultimately I get Caused by: javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException: Received fatal alert: bad_certificate I am unsure if I have missed some steps, I am misunderstanding SSL and mutual authentication altogether or this is mis-configuration on the server side. Can anyone provide suggestions or point me towards resources that might help me figure this out please?

  • NullPointerException when installing the Android SDK on Mac OS X

    - by Feanor
I'm installing the Android SDK on Mac OS X. Following the instructions on the Android Development site, I've downloaded the SDK and modified my .bash_profile to include the path. The next step is to use the Android SDK and AVD Manager to actually download the platforms. However, when I use the Manager to install the platforms, I get the following error in the Terminal. I've looked around for similar problems in the Eclipse and Android forums and haven't found anything yet. Is something else damaged in the environment and needs to be repaired? • ejb lookup failing with NamingException

I've added the following in my web.xml: <ejb-ref> <ejb-ref-name>ejb/userManagerBean</ejb-ref-name> <ejb-ref-type>Session</ejb-ref-type> <home>gha.ywk.name.entry.ejb.usermanager.UserManagerHome</home> <remote>what should go here??</remote> </ejb-ref> The following java code is giving me NamingException: public UserManager getUserManager () throws HUDException { String ROLE_JNDI_NAME = "ejb/userManagerBean"; try { Properties props = System.getProperties(); Context ctx = new InitialContext(props); UserManagerHome userHome = (UserManagerHome) ctx.lookup(ROLE_JNDI_NAME); UserManager userManager = userHome.create(); WASSSecurity user = userManager.getUserProfile("user101", null); return userManager; } catch (NamingException e) { log.error("Error Occured while getting EJB UserManager" + e); return null; } catch (RemoteException ex) { log.error("Error Occured while getting EJB UserManager" + ex); return null; } catch (CreateException ex) { log.error("Error Occured while getting EJB UserManager" + ex); return null; } } The code is used inside the container. • Problem using Hibernate Projections

    - by Lucas
Hello! I'm using Richfaces + HibernateQuery to create a data list. I'm trying to use Hibernate Projections to group my query result. Here is the code: final DetachedCriteria criteria = DetachedCriteria .forClass(Class.class, "c") .setProjection(Projections.projectionList() .add(Projections.groupProperty("c.id"))); ... in the .xhtml file i have the following code: <rich:dataTable width="100%" id="dataTable" value="#{myBean.dataModel}" var="row"> <f:facet name="header"> <rich:columnGroup> ...... </rich:columnGroup> </f:facet> <h:column> <h:outputText value="#{row.id}"/> </h:column> <h:column> <h:outputText value="#{row.name}"/> </h:column> But when i run the page it gives me the following error: Error: value="#{row.id}": The class 'java.lang.Long' does not have the property 'id'. If i take out the Projection from the code it works correctly, but it doesn't group the result. So, which mistake could be happening here? EDIT: Here is the full criteria: final DetachedCriteria criteria = DetachedCriteria.forClass(Class.class, "c"); criteria.setFetchMode("e.zzzzz", FetchMode.JOIN); criteria.createAlias("e.aaaaaaaa", "aa"); criteria.add(Restrictions.ilike("aa.information", "informations....")); criteria.setProjection(Projections.distinct(Projections.projectionList() .add(Projections.groupProperty("e.id").as("e.id")))); getDao().findByCriteria(criteria); if i take the "setProjection" line it works fine. I don't understand why it gives that error putting that line.

  • Simple Java calculator

    - by Kevin Duke
    Firstly this is not a homework question. I am practicing my knowledge on java. I figured a good way to do this is to write a simple program without help. Unfortunately, my compiler is telling me errors I don't know how to fix. Without changing much logic and code, could someone kindly point out where some of my errors are? Thanks import java.lang.*; import java.util.*; public class Calculator { private int solution; private int x; private int y; private char operators; public Calculator() { solution = 0; Scanner operators = new Scanner(System.in); Scanner operands = new Scanner(System.in); } public int addition(int x, int y) { return x + y; } public int subtraction(int x, int y) { return x - y; } public int multiplication(int x, int y) { return x * y; } public int division(int x, int y) { solution = x / y; return solution; } public void main (String[] args) { System.out.println("What operation? ('+', '-', '*', '/')"); System.out.println("Insert 2 numbers to be subtracted"); System.out.println("operand 1: "); x = operands; System.out.println("operand 2: "); y = operands.next(); switch(operators) { case('+'): addition(operands); operands.next(); break; case('-'): subtraction(operands); operands.next(); break; case('*'): multiplication(operands); operands.next(); break; case('/'): division(operands); operands.next(); break; } } }

  • window.onload seems to trigger before the DOM is loaded (JavaScript)

    - by Dr. Monkey
I am having trouble with the window.onload and document.onload events. Everything I read tells me these will not trigger until the DOM is fully loaded with all its resources, it seems like this isn't happening for me: I tried the following simple page in Chrome 4.1.249.1036 (41514) and IE 8.0.7600.16385 with the same result: both displayed the message "It failed!", indicating that myParagraph is not loaded (and so the DOM seems incomplete). <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.1//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml11/DTD/xhtml11.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xml:lang="en"> <head> <script type="text/javascript"> window.onload = doThis(); // document.onload gives the same result function doThis() { if (document.getElementById("myParagraph")) { alert("It worked!"); } else { alert("It failed!"); } } </script> </head> <body> <p id="myParagraph">Nothing is here.</p> </body> </html> I am using more complex scripts than this, in an external .js file, but this illustrates the problem. I can get it working by having window.onload set a timer for half a second to run doThis(), but this seems like an inelegant solution, and doesn't answer the question of why window.onload doesn't seem to do what everyone says it does. Another solution would be to set a timer that will check if the DOM is loaded, and if not it will just call itself half a second later (so it will keep checking until the DOM is loaded), but this seems overly complex to me. Is there a more appropriate event to use?

  • compile ICS/JB camera application - native library jni-mosaic error

    - by liorry
I would like to use the Panorama mode that the ICS/JB camera application has. I've downloaded the source code (with resources) and managed to solve all code compilation errors but as soon as I start the application on my device (running JB), I get this error: 10-25 14:42:53.617: E/AndroidRuntime(23147): FATAL EXCEPTION: GLThread 2586 10-25 14:42:53.617: E/AndroidRuntime(23147): java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: Native method not found: com.app.camera.panorama.MosaicRenderer.reset:(IIZ)V 10-25 14:42:53.617: E/AndroidRuntime(23147): at com.app.camera.panorama.MosaicRenderer.reset(Native Method) 10-25 14:42:53.617: E/AndroidRuntime(23147): at com.app.camera.panorama.MosaicRendererSurfaceViewRenderer.onSurfaceChanged(MosaicRendererSurfaceViewRenderer.java:49) 10-25 14:42:53.617: E/AndroidRuntime(23147): at android.opengl.GLSurfaceView$GLThread.guardedRun(GLSurfaceView.java:1505) 10-25 14:42:53.617: E/AndroidRuntime(23147): at android.opengl.GLSurfaceView$GLThread.run(GLSurfaceView.java:1240) I do have a libjni-mosaic lib, located in armeabi-v7a/armeabi/x86 and it seems to load it fine but it probably doesn't contain the methods the MosaicRenderer implements. I also tried compiling the CyanogenMod camera app https://github.com/CyanogenMod/android_packages_apps_Camera/tree/ics but I get the same error... The camera itself works, for stills and video recording but as soon as I change to panorama mode, it crashes. Can anyone maybe point me to the right jni-mosaic lib or maybe to what I'm doing wrong? Do I need to do something in order to make my app use the JNI/SO files?

  • JNI: Long-object created with wrong value

    - by Torbjörn Eklund
Hi! I am writing a c-jni function in Android, and I am having problems with creating a Long-object. I have succeeded in calling the constructor, but when I read the value of the object with longValue, I get the wrong result. jmethodID longConstructor; jmethodID longGetLongValue; jclass cls; jobject obj; // Create a object of type Long. cls = (*env)->FindClass(env,"java/lang/Long"); longConstructor = (*env)->GetMethodID(env,cls,"<init>","(J)V"); obj = (*env)->NewObject(env, cls, longConstructor, 4242); // Get the value by calling the function longValue. longGetLongValue= (*env)->GetMethodID(env,cls,"longValue","()J"); long return_long_value = (*env)->CallLongMethod(env, obj, longGetLongValue); // Log the result. LOGD("%li", return_long_value); I would expect that the above code would print 4242 in the log, however the value that is printed in the log is 1691768. Does anybody have an idea on why 4242 is not written in the log?
