I am looking for a good dictionary library to translate english words to spanish. Can someone suggest open-source libraries with reasonably comprehensive data.
I have a problem as I'm conditionally including the Prototype-based Lightbox script for IE6 as it works better than the jQuery plugin.
Of course the two libraries conflict but the official solution is not really feasible for me as i would have to replace tons of $ with the alternative no-conflict syntax.
Is there any other solution for me, keeping in mind that in my case it would be easier to have Prototype work nicely with jQuery than the other way around?
I read through this post:
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/741345/how-do-i-implement-direct-identity-based-openid-authentication-with-zend-openid
Why does it look so complicated to implement?
IMO, it's just to send request to a remote site and retrieve the response.
What's the problem those OpenID libraries are dealing with?
I'm looking to create an invisible window for the processing of certain X events (sort of like NativeWindow in Winforms). Is this possible in GTK#? Or do I need to manually create such a window using P/Invoke to the X libraries?
Ok, So I have to generate very complex reports from my DB.
If I am to do it with SQL the query themselves will be complex, and I will have to do some more manipulation on the results later, code level.
How do libraries like Jasper Reports/ Crystal Reports and friends save me time when developing such reports?
What will they give me?
I want to read a bunch of text files, by loading them as resources using the context classloader.
URL url = Thread.currentThread()
.getContextClassloader()
.getResource("folder/foo.txt");
Is there some way to get a list of resources whose names match a given pattern? For eg:
URL[] matchingUrls = someLibrary.getMatchingResources("folder/*.txt");
Libraries like Spring can scan the classpath to find classes with a given annotation, so I am wondering if there something similar to load a bunch of resources.
I've used a few F/OSS libraries in my commercial application. As per their licenses, I am obligated to include their source codes along with my VS2008 application. This is my first time making a "real" commercial application, and I would appreciate some advice on how best to go about including their source codes.
I don't want to package them as zip files alongside my installed. I still want my installer to be a single file.
Hi, for a certain project, I need some way to parse XML and get data from it. So I wonder, which one of built-in parsers is the fastest?
Also, it would be nice of the parser could accept a XML string as input - I have my own implementation of thread-safe working with files and I don't want some nasty non-thread-safe libraries to make my efforts useless.
Hi. Does anyone know a good C# tutorials (example) step by step?
It should be not a description of libraries, foundations and the OOP concept, and so forth, but the writing of any application step by step. For example, a mail client, telephone directory, a simple graphical editor, audio player.
Thanks!
The term has several definition according to Wikipedia, however what I'm really interested in is creating a program that has all its needed dependencies included within the source folder, so the end user doesn't need to install additional libraries for the app to install. For example, how Mac apps has all its dependencies all within the program itself already...
or is there a function that autotools does this? I'm programming in the Linux environment...
There are great .NET libraries and components. What is, for your opinion the most useful, effective, well wrriten open source C# library you've ever seen?
Mines, is the great Html Agility Pack.
Please post one library per answer.
I'm working on a deadlock detection algorithm and I'm only given kernel level libraries, i.e. #include <linux/somelibrary> and nothing else. Are there kernel-level facilities that will allow me to get the pid of the current process similar to getpid() of unistd.h?
I am a newbie to ICEfaces and i have a requirement where i need to download a document from a given url (http://ipaddress/formexec?objectid=201).
This URL uses a form based authentication that is deployed through ICEFaces.
i tracked the request of this URL and i get the following line:
&ice.submit.partial=false&ice.event.target=loginForm%3Aj_id33&ice.event.captured=loginForm%3Aj_id33
Is there any libraries or code to download the document by successfully passing the username and password.
So, you are using a bunch of javascript libraries in a website. Your javascript code calls the several APIs, but every once in a while after an upgrade, one of the API changes, and your code breaks, without you knowing it.
How do you prevent this from happening?
I'm mostly interested in javascript, but any answer regarding dynamically typed languages would be valuable.
I am writing a GAE application and I would like to have an input box with google auto-suggest. Specifically, when a user types "Shawshank" I would like to see google's suggestions in my drop down.
Can someone tell me what are the different ways of doing this? I understand I may have to use some javascript libraries so any code samples etc will help immensely. (Pure javascript/jquery kinda solutions will be more preferable)
I wanted to use YAML but there is not a single mature YAML library for Erlang. I know there are a few JSON libraries, but was wondering which is the most mature?
I'm interested in the way Sonic Living detects your iTunes library XML file. It prompts the user to approve its actions, then automatically uploads the XML file based on the client OS (and assuming the default installation path of iTunes).
How the heck does it do that? None of the upload libraries I've looked at have this feature. They all assume that a user will click "Select file..." then browse around for the right thing to upload.
I'm curious if there's a simpler way to remove a particular parameter from a url. What I came up with is the following. This seems a bit verbose. Libraries to use or a more pythonic version appreciated.
parsed = urlparse(url)
if parsed.query != "":
params = dict([s.split("=") for s in parsed.query.split("&")])
if params.get("page"):
del params["page"]
url = urlunparse((parsed.scheme,
None,
parsed.path,
None,
urlencode(params.items()),
parsed.fragment,))
parsed = urlparse(url)
hey guys:
it's simple i had this linux pc which i connect remote and i have this application that i run there and i want to debug it, but i just don't know how.

I'm looking for a C library that provides generic collection data structures such as lists, associative arrays, sets, etc. The library should be stable and well tested. I'm basically looking for something better than the crappy C standard library.
What C libraries fit this description?
EDIT: I'd prefer that the library was cross-platform, but failing that, anything that works on Mac/Linux.
I had to compile a small little C program using the following;
gcc sine.c -o sine -lm
I needed the "-lm" because the program included the math.h.
In looking this up under compiler commands man shows it a either -llibrary or -l library.
I could not find any information on what other libraries. Apparently -lm is needed for math.h
what other library commands might be needed.
Thanks
Hello!
I'd like to get the main image for an article, much like Facebook does when you post a link (but without the choosing image part). The data we have to work with is the whole pages HTML as a variable. The page & URL will be different for every time this function runs.
Are there any libraries or classes that are particularly good at getting the main body of content, much like Instapaper that would be of any help?
hi all,
i have to develop frontend/backend application using cakephp.
can you give me advice how should i develop them, using same cakephp library?
or i have to develop them using separate cakephp libraries?

Hi
New to the Twitter API, but need to choose between 3 different Actionscript libraries available for the Twitter API.
Has anyone used either TwitterScript, SWX Twitter, or Tweetr and knows some of the pros and cons of each?
Hello, Where I can download sources of .net frameworke. I mean sources of libraries. I need sources of reflection methods like invoke and other.
Thanks.
