    When reading definitions for a server service (e.g. iis) you will often find that there are several cross references to a virtual server but none seem to definitively refer to the two as the same..... Can somebody help me to understand the differences - I cannot get my head around what the difference between each is? Ideally I would like to know the differences between the following/or indeed if any refer to the same... 1) Logical Server 2) Virtual Host 3) Logical Partition 4) Physical Server Vs Virtual Server 5) Server Service Vs Virtual Host

  • USB Ports not working on new ASUS Z87 PRO motherboard

    3 of the six USB ports on the back on my new ASUS Z87 PRO motherboard are not functioning properly. They do seem to deliver power, just don't seem to function for data (devices attached in these ports are detected by windows, or usable in UEFI) I think I'm right in saying that the top 4 ports (3 of which aren't working) run off an additional USB controller (not from the Z87 chipset) if that makes any difference. I'm pretty sure that I'll just have to return it, but any advice on diagnosing the problem would be welcome.

  • Logitech mk520 (k520) keyboard Ctrl + Shift + ArrowKeys not working correctly. - Windows 8

    Ever since i installed windows 8, I'm unable to use Ctrl + Shift + Arrow Keys (to select words and phrases quickly in text editors) with any program. Ive found the same issue with other models of Logitech keyboards (not with any other brand, though) however, the solutions provided to those other models aren't working for me (or are impossible to complete, because of the difference in the model) If you have a possible solution, please reply! What is the difference in making a disk image and performing a clean install on windows? Which is better in terms of speed, general performance, value for time and transfering between different computers?

  • Does Chrome use a different DNS server while Firefox and IE use a different one?

    Is the common set up for Chrome that it will use a different DNS server, while Firefox and IE will use a different one? My Chrome (including the one on the virtual PC) will sometimes "Resolving host" and wait there for 20, 30 seconds, while Firefox and IE won't. (so after 20, 30 seconds with a blank page, the page will finally not be able to load). So is there something that Chrome is doing that make the difference?

    I currently have a dual-core processor at work and a quad-core at home. I've noticed both PCs are pretty equal as far as launching applications/surfing the web. The difference I can see is that my dual-core is 2.8GHz and my quad-core is 2.4GHz. Is it better to have a dual-core with a fast clock speed or a quad-core with a mediocre clock speed?

  • Project not publishing start/finish date for custom TFS work items

    I've got a TFS 2012 project set up with custom work items, that include Start and Finish date read-only fields (Microsoft.VSTS.Scheduling.StartDate and FinishDate). When I publish one of those custom work items from within Office Project, it does not populate those fields the same way as when I publish a Task work item (builtin TFS work item). I've looked at the transitions in the work items, and also the TFS project field mapping XML file but can't find anything that explains the difference in behaviour. What am I missing?

    I have two DVDs and if I open the DVDs and copy the content to the HDD and compare the respective files on the HDD it shows no difference. As I know DVD does also have some additional content (this content includes information saying if the DVD is bootable and some formating information I guess). How can I check also this additional content? Is it somehow possible without additional programs, using Windows or Ubuntu?
