When I Ctrl C my program on linux I often get output that looks similar to a stack-dump (a crash).
Can I catch the Ctrl-C signal and exit gracefully?
Thanks!
I would like to dump all css key/value pairs for an html tag.
In particular, I would like to learn the css properties for <audio> tag, so I can try to customize the look.
document.getElementById('myaudio').style returns a CSSStyleDeclaration object but length returns 0 and I cannot figure out to iterate over the key/value pairs.
Thank you
I am trying to update all of my Textmate bundles to the most current version. Is there a way to do this without doing each bundle individually? If not how do I update an individual bundle? I don't know how to use svn so I would prefer to use the git repository.
Thanks for helping a noob! :)
Hello,
I'm using Visual Studio 2008 Express and I would like Visual Studio (or perhaps an Add-in) to save my whole project to some sort of auto-incrementing archive or whatever would help me recover from disasters. I don't have much need for SVN or complex versioning systems.
I'm just looking for something simple and lean.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Jenny
PS : I looked into the built-in AutoRecover feature but it doesn't seem to save more than a few files.
I've been searching the internet a lot for UML modeling tools that support version control systems, like svn, but I haven't found anything about it. Does anyone know a good uml modeling tool, preferrably free, with version control support?
How do projects like BrowserCMS for Rails implement version control for a CMS? What is best practice for version control with database content? How does it relate to git/svn?
This is what it looks like on my laptop with less than 2G:
0x004012f1 <main+0>: push %ebp
0x004012f2 <main+1>: mov %esp,%ebp
0x004012f4 <main+3>: sub $0x18,%esp
0x004012f7 <main+6>: and $0xfffffff0,%esp
Can someone using RAM larger than 2G paste a dump?
I think it should be no longer like 0x004012f7 as its capacity is only 2^32=2G
Hey Everyone,
I'm an employee at a small company that is going to be launching a version control system soon and I'm trying to consider which software would best serve this company for version control. I wanted to get as many opinions as possible. Right now, I'm experimenting with Trac and Indefero running atop a SVN server.
So my question is, what is the most popular/favorite version control software and why?
??t??!
Do you use many version control software (TortoiseSVN, Bazaar Explorer, smartgit etc)?
One software that supports all version control systems (cvs, svn, bzr, git etc)? Which?
Do you keep converting between them (I imagine me converting gif - jpg - gif - jpg...)?
I have just implemented the Sphinx Storage Engine, and created my first Sphinx table, I'm trying to convert from using my Fulltext MyISAM table, so I figured I would just dump all the data into a sphinx table.. obviously I was wrong.
Are there any great tutorials that really take you through transforming a fulltext search on MySQL to a sphinx table?
Thanks in advance.
I would like to use the GCC -fstack-protector-all option on release mode. The main issue is that when there is an override a code is built. I would like to plug something that will just dump the stack and let the program continue. Is there a way to do that?
Hi,
I write a little ruby script, which sends me an email when a new commit added to our svn.
I get the log with this code:
log = `/usr/bin/svnlook log #{ARGV[0]}`
When I run my script from bash I get good encoded character in the email, but when I try it and create a new commit I get wrong hungarian characters.
I commited this:
tes
oéá
I get this in the email:
Log: tes
?\197?\145?\195?\169?\195?\161
How can I solve this issue?
I know how to generate html documentation using Sandcastle and similar tools. But if I want to host the project on Google code, how can I easily publish the documentation straight into the Google project Wiki pages?
I can see the SVN repository has a wiki folder which I assume maps to the project Wiki pages and I guess I can make a build step to build the documentation from the autodoc tags. But is there some tool that generates wiki compatible format from the code documentation tags?
I made a dump of a postgres database and I want to create the database on my localmachine. I'm trying to use pg_restore
My command pg_restore db.sql
and then I get this error
pg_restore: [archiver] input file does not appear to be a valid archive
What am I doing wrong? Operating sytem Ubuntu 9.10
I'm looking at a database dump file, and I see many records in various tables with their version number set in values other than 0 (even 94 in one case). I understand it has to do with hibernate locking strategy, but my concern is that today is Sunday, and the site has almost no visitors so is: is this normal ? Or is there a known hibernate bug or even some programming malpractice producing this ?
This file appears to be in a binary XML format. What is this format and how can it be parsed programmatically (as opposed to using the aapt dump tool in the SDK)?
This binary format is not discussed in the in the documentation here: http://developer.android.com/guide/topics/manifest/manifest-intro.html
Note: I want to access this information from outside the Android environment, preferably from Java.
I have a team developing software in MS Visual Studio and now they want to start using MS Team Foundation Server, mainly for versioning and maybe patch and bug tracking.
They don't have any experience with MS Team Foundation Server, but they are very enthusiastic with MS products.
So whats the best free open source alternative solution? Git, SVN, CVS, Bugzilla, plugins, etc.
I have a C# List, that is filled from a database.. So far its only 1400 records, but I expect it to grow a LOT.. Routinely I do a check for new data on the entire list.. What I'm trying to figure out is this, is it faster to simply clear the List and reload all the data from the table, or would checking each record be faster..
Intuition tells me that the dump and load method would be faster, but I thought I should check first...
With the latest changes to the developer agreement by Apple, how inherant is the risk of using any kind of framework to develop Apps for devices now? Should shops risk using things like MonoTouch, Three20, Appcelerator since this change?
How are some iPhone/iPad developers here handling it?

http://maven.apache.org/settings.html As per documentation the user specific settings can be either copied to the .m2 folder or under the maven installation. If a developer changes a machine or gets a new user id, such properties have to be copied manually to these newer machines.
Would it be possible to store user specific setting information in the repository itself (say SVN) and somehow have the mvn scripts load it on startup.
Right now i have a PHP project and i track all changes in code by SVN.
I would also like to track changes made in database structure.
Which is the right tool to use ?
Here's my model:
class Comment < ActiveRecord::Base
serialize :request_headers
end
But when I try to do @comment.request_headers = request.headers I get a TypeError (can't dump anonymous class Class) exception.
Another way to ask my question: how can I convert request.headers into a Hash? It uses a Hash under the covers so this should be easy, no?
I'd like to run a script to do a SVN checkin automatically when exiting the VB6 IDE.
Is there any easy way to do that from within the IDE? (I guess I could write a script that launches the vb6 ide, waits for it to exit, then runs the script, but I'm hoping for something simpler).
Hi,
I am using the code from this tutorial to parse a CSV file and add the contents to a database table. How would I ignore the first line of the CSV file? The controller code is below:
def csv_import
@parsed_file=CSV::Reader.parse(params[:dump][:file])
n = 0
@parsed_file.each do |row|
s = Student.new
s.name = row[0]
s.cid = row[1]
s.year_id = find_year_id_from_year_title(row[2])
if s.save
n = n+1
GC.start if n%50==0
end
flash.now[:message] = "CSV Import Successful, #{n} new students added to the database."
end
redirect_to(students_url)
end
I'm looking for a way to get all rows as insert statements from one specific table within a database using pg_dump in postgres.
eg I have table A and all rows in table a I need as INSERT STATEMENTS, it should also dump those staements to a file
Is this possible?
