  • Java - Which Business Intelligence (BI) platform can I embed with my commercial software for free?

    - by Yatendra Goel
I am developing a java application and I want to use: Reporting Analysis Data Mining Data Integration tools to be shipped with my commercial application that I am NOT going to sell as an open source application. So I want to know which tools I can use in my app. Actually I am evaluating PENTAHO and JASPER but I don't understand licensing issues. Some comes under GPL, some under LGPL, some under CPL... so I am very confused about those.

  • How to find where a library is used across multiple pom files

    - by Pablojim
We have multiple maven projects depending on on our own common libraries. When we upgrade a library it would be useful to quickly find out which projects have a dependency on the library (and might need to use the new version) Obviously I can manually look in all the pom files or write a script to do it but this is less than ideal. Are there any tools that provide this functionality. e.g. a hudson plugin, Nexus, artifactory etc?

  • How to create a windows service from java app

    - by ideasculptor
I've just inherited a java application that needs to be installed as a service on XP and vista. It's been about 8 years since I've used windows in any form and I've never had to create a service, let alone from something like a java app (I've got a jar for the app and a single dependency jar - log4j). What is the magic necessary to make this run as a service? I've got the source, so code modifications, though preferably avoided, are possible.

  • What are the best ways to store Graphs in persistent storage

    - by nicoslepicos
I am wondering what the best ways to store graphs in persistent storage are, for later analysis, search, clustering, etc. I see neo4j being an option, I am curious if there are also other graph databases available. Does anyone have any insights into how larger social networks store their graph based data (or other sites that require the storage of graph like models, e.g. RDF). What about options like Cassandra, or MySQL?

  • Determine number of screens and screen relative location without WinForms

    - by Philipp Schmid
I want to save and restore the window position of my WPF application. I want to make the code robust to use with multiple monitors who's number and relative location can change (I want to avoid opening my application off-screen when the monitor configuration has changed inbetween invocations). I know of the Screen class in System.Windows.Forms, but I don't want to take a dependency on that assembly just for this feature.

  • Unfamiliar Javascript Syntax

    - by user1051643
Long and short of the story is, whilst reading John Resig's blog (specifically http://ejohn.org/blog/javascript-trie-performance-analysis/) I came across a line which makes absolutely no sense to me whatsoever. Essentially it boils down to object = object[key] = something; (this can be found in the first code block of the article I've linked.) This has proven rather difficult to google, so if anyone can offer some insight / a good online resource for me to learn for myself, I'd much appreciate it.

  • WPF ControlTemplate and Binding

    - by Vinjamuri
In the below code, MousePressImage is a dependency property of class ButtonControl. The following Binding doesn't work.. Appreciate your help in solving this issue.. Value="{Binding RelativeSource={x:Static RelativeSource.Self}, Path=MousePressImage}"/> -- I create the ButtonControl like this. <local:ButtonControl Height="48" Width="160" MouseOverImage="pack://application:,,,/Recipe_06_13;component/Resources/Over.bmp" MousePressImage="pack://application:,,,/Recipe_06_13;component/Resources/Press.bmp" DisableImage=" "> </local:ButtonControl>

  • C vs. C++ for performance in memory allocation

    - by Andrei
Hi, I am planning to participate in development of a code written in C language for Monte Carlo analysis of complex problems. This codes allocates huge data arrays in memory to speed up its performance, therefore the author of the code has chosen C instead of C++ claiming that one can make faster and more reliable (concerning memory leaks) code with C. Do you agree with that? What would be your choice, if you need to store 4-16 Gb of data arrays in memory during calculation?

  • Is it possible to build exe on Vista and deploy on XP using py2exe

    - by dfens
I have created some program using python on Windows Vista. But I want to deploy it on Windows XP. Is it necessary to make new build on windows XP? Or there is possibility to make build that will work on both of these systems? EDIT (EDIT 2 - very simple program does not work also): My setup: from distutils.core import setup import py2exe setup(console=['orderer.py']) Using dependency explorer i checked that dependencies are: msvcr90.dll kernel32.dll +ntdll.dll

  • GCC compiling a dll with __stdcall

    - by Chad
When we compile a dll using __stdcall inside visual studio 2008 the compiled function names inside the dll are. FunctionName Though when we compile the same dll using GCC using wx-dev-cpp GCC appends the number of paramers the function has, so the name of the function using Dependency walker looks like. FunctionName@numberOfParameters or == FunctionName@8 How do you tell GCC compiler to remove @nn from exported symbols in the dll?

  • wpf Image resources and visual studio 2010 resource editor

    - by Berryl
Hello My motivation for this question is really just to specify an image to be used in a user control via a dependency property for ImageSource. I'm hitting some pain points involving the management, access, and unit testing for this. Is the resource editor a good tool to use to maintain images for the application? What is the best way to translate the Bitmap from the editor to an ImageSource? How can I grab the resource Filename from the editor? Cheers, Berryl

  • How can I get the followers of a user on twitter, then get posts from those followers over a period

    - by Ronan
I've been assigned a research project to enhance social networking based adaptive e-learning and to do so I need to be able to extract several (hundreds, maybe thousands) of status updates or tweets in order to perform factor analysis on key words. Apparently this can be done with javascript but I have never used javascript before so I'm a bit lost. I know I need a Twitter API but not sure even how to use one. Anybody have any idea how I can do this?

  • F# compiler order of source files

    - by rwallace
As I understand it, when using F#, you have to manually list the source files in dependency order for the compiler's benefit (if there is any way around that, please let me know!) Listing them on the command line from left to right obviously isn't going to scale. Is there a way to at least make it accept the list of files in a text file, one per line, preferably with the ability to put in blank lines and comments? I've checked the compiler options, and I don't see anything that looks promising.

  • What method can I override in GridViewHeaderRowPresenter to prevent it from drawing some columns?

    - by Carlo
The thing is that I created a custom column that inherits from GridViewColumn, and I added a Visibility dependency property to it. Now I want to create a custom GridViewHeaderRowPresenter, that does not draw the columns when their visibility is hidden or collapsed, but other than the OnRender() method, I can't think of anything else. Thanks. Btw, the reason I'm doing this is because removing or adding columns doesn't work like we would expect it (some specs for our app) and I believe what I'm trying to do here would work if pulled out correctly.

  • Real-time spectrum analyzer with API

    - by bobobobo
I'm looking for a C or C++ API that will give me real-time spectrum analysis of a waveform on Windows. I'm not entirely sure how large a sample window it should need to determine frequency content, but the smaller the better. For example, if it can work with a 0.5 second long sample and determine frequency content to the Hz, that would be wicked-awesome.

  • Is application is runned under IIS or VS web-server

    - by zerkms
How to determine whether asp.net (mvc2) application is running under IIS (7) or VS internal web-server? Clarification why I need this: I'm composing different dependency graph for IoC-container (ninject) that depends on the workaround (develop - when local VS, and production - when IIS) Or may be another great solution so I can simply differ 3 workarounds: local (VS), test server (IIS) or production server (IIS). How in this case to differ the server? By PC name?

  • How to remove "Standard Error" column from xtable() output of an lm on R/RSweave/LaTeX

    - by Lucas Spangher
I'm currently doing some data analysis on population data, so reporting the standard errors in the tables of parameter coefficients just doesn't really make statistical sense. I've done a fair bit of searching and can't find any way to customize the xtable output to remove it. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks a lot, I didn't post this lightly; if it's something obvious, I apologize for having wasted time!

  • standard rectangle class

    - by Neil G
I have a project that has a GUI (written in QT) and a command-line version. I made use of the rectangle class included in QT: QRect. I would like to break the command-line version's dependency on QT, so I need a drop-in rectangle class that supports intersection and union. I could write one, but I'd prefer including one if possible. Any ideas?

  • Visual Studio not recognizing "BuildStep"

    - by AmbiguousX
    I'm trying to add an automatic post-build trigger to run NDepend after an automated team build in TFS 2010. NDepend's website provided code for integrating this capability, and so I have pasted their code into my .csproj file where they said for it to go, but I receive errors on the build. The errors refer to two of the three "BuildStep" tags I have in the code snippet. The following two snippets are giving me errors: <BuildStep TeamFoundationServerUrl="$(TeamFoundationServerUrl)" BuildUri="$(BuildUri)" Message="Running NDepend analysis"> <Output TaskParameter="Id" PropertyName="StepId" /> </BuildStep> and <BuildStep TeamFoundationServerUrl="$(TeamFoundationServerUrl)" BuildUri="$(BuildUri)" Id="$(StepId)" Status="Failed" /> However, this code snippet is NOT throwing up any problems: <BuildStep TeamFoundationServerUrl="$(TeamFoundationServerUrl)" BuildUri="$(BuildUri)" Id="$(StepId)" Status="Succeeded" /> I just don't understand why one works fine and a nearly identically laid out BuildStep tag does not. Is there something simple that I'm just overlooking? EDIT: Here is how it looks all together, if this makes a difference: <Target Name="NDepend" > <PropertyGroup> <NDPath>c:\tools\NDepend\NDepend.console.exe</NDPath> <NDProject>$(SolutionDir)MyProject.ndproj</NDProject> <NDOut>$(TargetDir)NDepend</NDOut> <NDIn>$(TargetDir)</NDIn> </PropertyGroup> <Exec Command='"$(NDPath)" "$(NDProject)" /OutDir "$(NDOut)" /InDirs "$(NDIn)"'/> </Target> <Target Name="AfterBuild"> <BuildStep TeamFoundationServerUrl="$(TeamFoundationServerUrl)" BuildUri="$(BuildUri)" Message="Running NDepend analysis"> <Output TaskParameter="Id" PropertyName="StepId" /> </BuildStep> <PropertyGroup> <NDPath>c:\tools\NDepend\NDepend.console.exe</NDPath> <NDProject>$(SolutionRoot)\Main\src\MyProject.ndproj</NDProject> <NDOut>$(BinariesRoot)\NDepend</NDOut> <NDIn>$(BinariesRoot)\Release</NDIn> </PropertyGroup> <Exec Command='$(NDPath) "$(NDProject)" /OutDir "$(NDOut)" /InDirs "$(NDIn)"'/> <BuildStep TeamFoundationServerUrl="$(TeamFoundationServerUrl)" BuildUri="$(BuildUri)" Id="$(StepId)" Status="Succeeded" /> <OnError ExecuteTargets="MarkBuildStepAsFailed" /> </Target> <Target Name="MarkBuildStepAsFailed"> <BuildStep TeamFoundationServerUrl="$(TeamFoundationServerUrl)" BuildUri="$(BuildUri)" Id="$(StepId)" Status="Failed" /> </Target> EDIT: Added a bounty because I really need to get this going for my team. Thank you in advance!

  • R Package for Bayesian Belief Networks

    - by user187395
Is anyone aware of an R package for Bayesian Belief Networks (BBN) that can handle latent (hidden) nodes? I am referring to process learning the structure and the parameters of the model. Based on the documentation, the "bnlearn" package does not provide for such capability. In addition, is anyone aware of R packages that allow for making inferences and sensitivity analysis for BBN? Thank you in advance.
