    Hi, I guess it has to do something with string being a reference type but I dont get why simply string.Replace("X","Y") does not work? Why I need to do `string A=stringB.Replace("X","Y") I thought it is just a method to be done on specified instance? Thanks for explanation EDIT: Thank you so far. I extend my question Why "b+="FFF"works but the b.replace is not?

    I have been using this "logic" in C++ and VB with success, but am tied up in Java... Simply put, public void DataProviderExample(String user, String pwd, String no_of_links, String link1, String link2, String link3) { for (int i=1;i<=no_of_links;i++) { String link = "link"+i; System.out.println(link); } Now, if the variables link1, link2 and link3 have a value of "X", "Y" and "Z" respectively, upon running this program, I get the following output - link1 link2 link3 What I want is - X Y Z Any ideas?

    For my Contact class, the property EmailAddress is marked with the [DataType(DataType.EmailAddress)] attribute. In my view, using Html.Display("EmailAddress") and Html.DisplayFor(c => c.EmailAddress) yields different results. The former outputs a mailto: link, which is the expected behavior, while the latter simply outputs the email address as plain text. My question is why the different behavior, I expected these two methods to have the same output.

  • From a Java programming perspective, what difference does multicast make to a networking program?

    My manager has asked me to assess what changes would be required to add multicast support to a socket-based TCP/IP networking program that is part of a trading system. As far as I can tell, from the perspective of a Java program, it doesn't seem to matter too much whether the program is unicast or multicast. Doesn't the Java networking API make all of this transparent? By this I mean, wouldn't the change be a simple one of simply adding additional destinations for the outgoing connections?

What I want is for it to be lined up like this: Name: [Textbox] Age: [Textbox] BlahBlahCatfish: [Textbox] Ordinarly I would use a Table but I am trying to get out of that habit and use lovely CSS. Ideas of how to do this without billions of divs and stuff?

  • Best way to render Tesselated Objects (OpenGL)

    I'm using the GLUTesselator for Polygons. Right now the vertex callback does glvertex2f and gltex2f. Would it be better simply to collect the verticies from the vertex callback in a std::vector then use gldrawarrays()? Or would this actually be less efficient since it has to put the verts and texture coordinates in a vector? Thanks

    It's been asked a million times, its like this. Say Invoice is the base class and InvoiceHistory is the class that simply inherits from Invoice. When I do something like invoiceList = session.CreateCriteria(typeof(Invoice)).List(); I get everything from Invoice (that I want, plus everything from InvoiceHistory). Do I need to have an InvoiceBase and create derived versions for Invoice and InvoiceHistory?

    Hi all, i'm using putClientProperty("terminateEditOnFocusLost", Boolean); to make jtable end editing and clear current selected rows when it lose focus or when simply click over an other GUI component. This is very useful, but with "terminateEditOnFocusLost" there are some strange behaviours if it is used with editCellAt and changeSelection. There are also some undesiderable TableModelEvents fired for some fake table updates. So, im looking for an hack to simulate "terminateEditOnFocusLost without using it, is this possibile?   • Doubt in Conditional inclusion

    This is actually extracted from my module (Pre-processor in C) The conditional expression could contain any C operator except for the assignment operators,increment, and decrement operators. I am not sure if I am getting this statement or not since I tried using this and it worked.Also for other manipulation a probable work around would be to simply declare macro or function inside the conditional expression,something like this to be precise. Also I don't understand what is the rationale behind this rule. Could somebody explain? Thanks

  • jquery datepicker only works on <input type=text> within Chrome?

    I have a very simple page that's usings jquery's datepicker. I have: <input id=datepicker type=image src='cal.png'> When I click on the image in FF/IE, it works as expected, but does not work in Chrome (ver. 4.1.249.1064). However if I simply change to "type=text", it works within Chrome. So my question is this: am I allowed to use Datepicker with "type=image"?
