  • Programmatically generate video or animated GIF in Python?

    - by FogleBird
I have a series of images that I want to create a video from. Ideally I could specify a frame duration for each frame but a fixed frame rate would be fine too. I'm doing this in wxPython, so I can render to a wxDC or I can save the images to files, like PNG. Is there a Python library that will allow me to create either a video (AVI, MPG, etc) or an animated GIF from these frames? Edit: I've already tried PIL and it doesn't seem to work. Can someone correct me with this conclusion or suggest another toolkit? This link seems to backup my conclusion regarding PIL: http://www.somethinkodd.com/oddthinking/2005/12/06/python-imaging-library-pil-and-animated-gifs/

  • Android source code not working, reading frame buffer through glReadPixels

    - by Muhammad Ali Rajput
    Hi, I am new to Android development and have an assignment to read frame buffer data after a specified interval of time. I have come up with the following code: public class mainActivity extends Activity { Bitmap mSavedBM; private EGL10 egl; private EGLDisplay display; private EGLConfig config; private EGLSurface surface; private EGLContext eglContext; private GL11 gl; protected int width, height; //Called when the activity is first created. @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); // get the screen width and height DisplayMetrics dm = new DisplayMetrics(); getWindowManager().getDefaultDisplay().getMetrics(dm); int screenWidth = dm.widthPixels; int screenHeight = dm.heightPixels; String SCREENSHOT_DIR = "/screenshots"; initGLFr(); //GlView initialized. savePixels( 0, 10, screenWidth, screenHeight, gl); //this gets the screen to the mSavedBM. saveBitmap(mSavedBM, SCREENSHOT_DIR, "capturedImage"); //Now we need to save the bitmap (the screen capture) to some location. setContentView(R.layout.main); //This displays the content on the screen } private void initGLFr() { egl = (EGL10) EGLContext.getEGL(); display = egl.eglGetDisplay(EGL10.EGL_DEFAULT_DISPLAY); int[] ver = new int[2]; egl.eglInitialize(display, ver); int[] configSpec = {EGL10.EGL_NONE}; EGLConfig[] configOut = new EGLConfig[1]; int[] nConfig = new int[1]; egl.eglChooseConfig(display, configSpec, configOut, 1, nConfig); config = configOut[0]; eglContext = egl.eglCreateContext(display, config, EGL10.EGL_NO_CONTEXT, null); surface = egl.eglCreateWindowSurface(display, config, SurfaceHolder.SURFACE_TYPE_GPU, null); egl.eglMakeCurrent(display, surface, surface, eglContext); gl = (GL11) eglContext.getGL(); } public void savePixels(int x, int y, int w, int h, GL10 gl) { if (gl == null) return; synchronized (this) { if (mSavedBM != null) { mSavedBM.recycle(); mSavedBM = null; } } int b[] = new int[w * (y + h)]; int bt[] = new int[w * h]; IntBuffer ib = IntBuffer.wrap(b); ib.position(0); gl.glReadPixels(x, 0, w, y + h, GL10.GL_RGBA,GL10.GL_UNSIGNED_BYTE,ib); for (int i = 0, k = 0; i < h; i++, k++) { //OpenGLbitmap is incompatible with Android bitmap //and so, some corrections need to be done. for (int j = 0; j < w; j++) { int pix = b[i * w + j]; int pb = (pix >> 16) & 0xff; int pr = (pix << 16) & 0x00ff0000; int pix1 = (pix & 0xff00ff00) | pr | pb; bt[(h - k - 1) * w + j] = pix1; } } Bitmap sb = Bitmap.createBitmap(bt, w, h, Bitmap.Config.ARGB_8888); synchronized (this) { mSavedBM = sb; } } static String saveBitmap(Bitmap bitmap, String dir, String baseName) { try { File sdcard = Environment.getExternalStorageDirectory(); File pictureDir = new File(sdcard, dir); pictureDir.mkdirs(); File f = null; for (int i = 1; i < 200; ++i) { String name = baseName + i + ".png"; f = new File(pictureDir, name); if (!f.exists()) { break; } } if (!f.exists()) { String name = f.getAbsolutePath(); FileOutputStream fos = new FileOutputStream(name); bitmap.compress(Bitmap.CompressFormat.PNG, 100, fos); fos.flush(); fos.close(); return name; } } catch (Exception e) { } finally { //if (fos != null) { // fos.close(); // } } return null; } } Also, if some one can direct me to better way to read the framebuffer it would be great. I am using Android 2.2 and virtual device of API level 8. I have gone through many previous discussions and have found that we can not know read frame buffer directly throuh the "/dev/graphics/fb0". Thanks, Muhammad Ali

  • Do you still support Internet Explorer 6?

    - by Marcos Buarque
Hi, I hope this question isn't tagged as too generic. But this is an honest concern/curiosity I have. Are you people still supporting Internet Explorer 6? Web developers sometimes use the concept of softly degrading their projects in older browsers. When I say "older", I mean mainly Internet Explorer 6. When you softly degrade you still have to waste tons of time tryng to fit things in IE6. This is time consuming and the client usually won`t even mind asking or checking how things look in IE6. So what are you doing when your website is completely broken in IE6? Do you bother to completely fix it and eat up your time or do you simply ignore it (leave broken boxes, opaque PNG files etc.)?

  • Is there a way to construct HTML/CSS in an HTML email such that if image X does not load, text Y will appear?

    - by wide_eyed_pupil
I'm looking for something a little more sophisticated than the alt="Newsletter Heading text" attribute of <img> tag. So if the Masthead.png image doesn't load for whatever reason, I want the display text, say Font: 60px Helvetica Neue Black, Helvetica, ..., Sans Serif text-align: center to appear in the middle of the table cell that is my masthead instead of just the alt text in some small default font in top right corner. One idea I had was to use to put the image on-top of the text display but I don't know if z-depth is something I can use in email HTML(?4)?

  • Transpose a Collection

    - by Joseph Melettukunnel
Hello, I've a list of different sizes of a T-Shirt, e.g. S, M, L. Since this might change for T-Shirts (sometimes we just have e.g. M, L), we load this into a List sizes. Since most DataGrids (xamDataGrid, WPF Toolkit DataGrid) need Properties for binding to the Columns, I'd like to transpose somehow my data. Does anyone have an idea how to do this? E.g. Instead of having List where Size { string sizeName, int available, int defect, int ordered} Avail. Defect Ordered [S] 1 2 3 [M] 1 2 3 [L] 1 2 3 I want an Object which has the Properties S, M, L containing the Values like this: [S] [M] [L] Avail. 1 2 3 Defect 1 2 3 Ordered 1 2 3 The problem here is that I don't know how many sizes will be available for the tshirt, it might be 3, 4, or 10. Thanks for any help Cheers PS: Here is a mockup of how the final grid should look like http://img39.imageshack.us/img39/9161/multirowspangridfixedel.png

  • How do you position a background image inside a <div>?

    - by Giffyguy
My code currently looks like this: <div style="position: fixed; width: 35.25%; height: 6.75%; left: 0%; top: 4.625%; right: 64.75%; bottom: 88.625%; color: #D1E231; text-align: center; background-color: #666666; background-image: url('FleurTR.png'); background-position: right top;"> <div> The <div> shows up just fine, with the grey background color, but the background image won't show up at all. What am I missing here? There's no reason I should have to specify background-attachment or background-repeat, right? (I don't want it to repeat.)

  • Translate ImageButton from C# to XAML

    - by Bill
    I worked out the C# code to create an ImageButton (below) that has three images (one base-image and two overlays) and three text boxes as the face of the button. I am inheriting from the Button class, which unfortunately includes several components that I didn't realize would surface until after coding and need to remove, namely the bright-blue surrounding border on IsMouseOver, and any visible borders between the buttons, as the buttons will end up in a wrapPanel and the borders need to be seamless. Now that the format has been worked out in C#, I expect that I need to translate to XAML so that I can create a ControlTemplate to get the functionality necessary, however I am not certain as to the process of translating from C# to XAML. Can anyone steer me in the right direction? public class ACover : Button { Image cAImage = null; Image jCImage = null; Image jCImageOverlay = null; TextBlock ATextBlock = null; TextBlock AbTextBlock = null; TextBlock ReleaseDateTextBlock = null; private string _TracksXML = ""; public ACover() { Grid cArtGrid = new Grid(); cArtGrid.Background = new SolidColorBrush(Color.FromRgb(38, 44, 64)); cArtGrid.Margin = new System.Windows.Thickness(5, 10, 5, 10); RowDefinition row1 = new RowDefinition(); row1.Height = new GridLength(225); RowDefinition row2 = new RowDefinition(); row2.Height = new GridLength(0, GridUnitType.Auto); RowDefinition row3 = new RowDefinition(); row3.Height = new GridLength(0, GridUnitType.Auto); RowDefinition row4 = new RowDefinition(); row4.Height = new GridLength(0, GridUnitType.Auto); cArtGrid.RowDefinitions.Add(row1); cArtGrid.RowDefinitions.Add(row2); cArtGrid.RowDefinitions.Add(row3); cArtGrid.RowDefinitions.Add(row4); ColumnDefinition col1 = new ColumnDefinition(); col1.Width = new GridLength(0, GridUnitType.Auto); cArtGrid.ColumnDefinitions.Add(col1); jCImage = new Image(); jCImage.Height = 240; jCImage.Width = 260; jCImage.VerticalAlignment = VerticalAlignment.Top; jCImage.Source = new BitmapImage(new Uri(Properties.Settings.Default.pathToGridImages + "jc.png", UriKind.Absolute)); cArtGrid.Children.Add(jCImage); cArtImage = new Image(); cArtImage.Height = 192; cArtImage.Width = 192; cArtImage.Margin = new System.Windows.Thickness(3, 7, 0, 0); cArtImage.VerticalAlignment = VerticalAlignment.Top; cArtGrid.Children.Add(cArtImage); jCImageOverlay = new Image(); jCImageOverlay.Height = 192; jCImageOverlay.Width = 192; jCImageOverlay.Margin = new System.Windows.Thickness(3, 7, 0, 0); jCImageOverlay.VerticalAlignment = VerticalAlignment.Top; jCImageOverlay.Source = new BitmapImage(new Uri( Properties.Settings.Default.pathToGridImages + "jc-overlay.png", UriKind.Absolute)); coverArtGrid.Children.Add(jCImageOverlay); ATextBlock = new TextBlock(); ATextBlock.Foreground = new SolidColorBrush(Color.FromRgb(173, 176, 198)); ATextBlock.Margin = new Thickness(10, -10, 0, 0); cArtGrid.Children.Add(ATextBlock); AlTextBlock = new TextBlock(); AlTextBlock.Margin = new Thickness(10, 0, 0, 0); AlTextBlock.Foreground = new SolidColorBrush(Color.FromRgb(173, 176, 198)); cArtGrid.Children.Add(AlTextBlock); RDTextBlock = new TextBlock(); RDTextBlock.Margin = new Thickness(10, 0, 0, 0); RDTextBlock.Foreground = new SolidColorBrush(Color.FromRgb(173, 176, 198)); cArtGrid.Children.Add(RDTextBlock); Grid.SetColumn(jCImage, 0); Grid.SetRow(jCImage, 0); Grid.SetColumn(jCImageOverlay, 0); Grid.SetRow(jCImageOverlay, 0); Grid.SetColumn(cArtImage, 0); Grid.SetRow(cArtImage, 0); Grid.SetColumn(ATextBlock, 0); Grid.SetRow(ATextBlock, 1); Grid.SetColumn(AlTextBlock, 0); Grid.SetRow(AlTextBlock, 2); Grid.SetColumn(RDTextBlock, 0); Grid.SetRow(RDTextBlock, 3); this.Content = cArtGrid; } public string A { get { if (ATextBlock != null) return ATextBlock.Text; else return String.Empty; } set { if (ATextBlock != null) ATextBlock.Text = value; } } public string Al { get { if (AlTextBlock != null) return AlTextBlock.Text; else return String.Empty; } set { if (AlTextBlock != null) AlTextBlock.Text = value; } } public string RD { get { if (RDTextBlock != null) return RDTextBlock.Text; else return String.Empty; } set { if (RDTextBlock != null) RDTextBlock.Text = value; } } public ImageSource Image { get { if (cArtImage != null) return cArtImage.Source; else return null; } set { if (cArtImage != null) cArtImage.Source = value; } } public string TracksXML { get { return _TracksXML; } set { _TracksXML = value; } } public double ImageWidth { get { if (cArtImage != null) return cArtImage.Width; else return double.NaN; } set { if (cArtImage != null) cArtImage.Width = value; } } public double ImageHeight { get { if (cArtImage != null) return cArtImage.Height; else return double.NaN; } set { if (cArtImage != null) cArtImage.Height = value; } } }

  • Eclipse plugin: Custom icon for a Marker

    - by Itay
I want to specify a custom icon for a makrer. Sadly, the icon that I chose is not displayed. Here's the relevant parts of the plugin.xml file (the project id "x"): <extension id="xmlProblem" name="XML Problem" point="org.eclipse.core.resources.markers"> <super type="org.eclipse.core.resources.problemmarker"/> <persistent value="true"> </persistent> </extension> <extension point="org.eclipse.ui.ide.markerImageProviders"> <imageprovider markertype="x.xmlProblem" icon="icons/marker.png" id="xmlProblemImageProvider"> </imageprovider> </extension> I also tried specifying a class (implementing IMarkerImageProvider) instead of an icon, but that getImagePath() method of the class does not get called. Any thoughts on how to make custom marker icons work? Desperately, yours. -Itay

  • Website looks weird in internet explorer 7, but fine in IE 6 and 8

    - by user156814
I used many different browsers while I was coding for a new site (Firefox, Chrome, IE8, Opera, Safari, Mobile devices, etc...). It looked the same across all browsers. I recently uploaded the site onto the server and got to look at it from work, using Internet Explorer 7 and It looks horrible. Elements are floating wild all over the place, but I cant figure out why. The weird thing is I just looked at it from IE6, and it looks fine, with the exception of unsupported transparencies in PNG's. If anybody has IE7, you can view the site here. Thanks

  • Safari wrapping too early

    - by the Hampster
I've created a class web page with a page for midterm review. It uses jsMath to turn Tex into nice math. (MathML looks awful) Anyway, I would occasionally like to have several problems per line. Each problem is in its own <span>, so if it needs to wrap, it won't split the problem. It all seems to work, except that Safari for the Mac seems overly anxious to wrap, sometimes wrapping at 30% paragraph width. Even under inspection, it reports a width of 663px, but wrapping occurs at around 150px. There is no padding. Firefox renders just fine. A comparison is here: http://davehampson.net/Images/Safaribug.png Sometimes Safari works just fine. The original web page is here: http://math.davehampson.net/index3.php (study guide 2) I don't know if this is a bug in safari, or if there is some odd/subtle css point I am missing. Any help would be appreciated. --Dave

  • Resources for Programmatic Rendering of Topology Maps

    - by bn
Servus, Do you know of any frameworks, APIS, languages, or other resources that are well suited for drawing topology maps that allow a user to interact with objects on the map? I am not constrained by language choice and the program can be web-based, or stand-alone. I thought I would check before rolling my own. My goal is not to draw cartographic maps, but more like this picture: http://www.fineconnection.com/files/images/GraphicalNM.PNG, or if you are familiar with Edward Tufte's books, the data-visualization mechanisms he describes such as a map of a metro or subway. Also, if you have had any experience rendering these types of user interfaces or usage of underlying datastructures, I would be grateful to hear any thoughts you have on the subject, advice, any "gotchas." Thank you very for your time, -bn

  • image rendering issue

    - by burkejam71
I am running Apache/2.2.3 (CentOS). For some reason certain images, jpg, gif, or png will show up as byte code when accessed directly on the server. Firefox 3 and Safari both think the content type is text/html. IE I believe has something built in to recognize it is an image and ignore the content type and renders the image correctly regardless. I can't seem to find anyone else with this issue. An example of this can be found at http://www.thedacs.com/admin/gp/userfiles/image/gp28%5Fimg%5F01.jpg but the image below on same server the image is rendered correctly (use same path from above) Fig3mod.jpg The first image works fine in Photoshop CS, Illistrator, GIMP, Paint.net,and any other image editing software. I have tried everything when editing the images from trying multiple file formats to print screens and cropping to create a new image to lose old image meta data. Can anybody help?

  • Look of the app - Py2exe / wxPython

    - by Francisco Aleixo
So my problem is the look and feel from my application, as it looks like an old look app. It is an wxPython application, and on python it runs fine and looks fine, but when I convert it to .exe using py2exe, the look is just bad. Now I know that if you are using XP you need some manifest to correct it but I am in other circumstances. I'm using Windows 7, and I'm using Python 2.6 (Yes, I am including the DLL's and the Microsoft.VC90.CRT.manifest). So my question is how can I solve this under these circumstances? NOTE: I tried to search on google, but the posts I found were rather old with people using XP and older python versions so I assumed it would be different? • Using CGContext to display a sprite sheet iPhone

    - by Mike
Hello, So I have a spritesheet in png format, and have already worked out the coordinates for what I want to display. I'm trying to create a method that will return a UIImage when passed the location information on the spritesheet. I'm just not sure how to use the CGContext stuff along with the the coordinates to return an UIImage. I was looking to CGContextClipToRect because I think that is the way to do it, but I just can't seem to get it to work. Something like this CGSize size = CGSizeMake(xSize, ySize); UIGraphicsBeginImageContext(size); //CGContextClipToRect(spriteSheet.size, imageRect); [spriteSheet drawAtPoint:CGPointMake(xPos, yPos)]; UIImage *newImage = UIGraphicsGetImageFromCurrentImageContext(); UIGraphicsEndImageContext(); return scaledImage; returns only what is in the size Context. I need to be able to "move" this size window around the spritesheet if that makes sense. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Mike

  • Problem including dynamic image in Eclipse BIRT 2.5.0 report on Windows

    - by schmeedy
I have a BIRT 2.5.0 report design with a dynamic image (URL is specified through report parameter, image formats tried - .png, .bmp). When running the report from our application on Ubuntu, everything renders OK. When doing exactly the same thing on Windows, there's following message instead of the actual image: Current report item is not supported in this report format. Same problem occurs when including image with a fixed URL - even though the image is displayed and loaded in the Report Designer, it's not rendered in report generated from our application. Again, this happens only on Windows. The only way I managed to get the image into a rendered report was through embedding it into the report design file, which is not suitable as the image has to be dynamic.
