How should a random number generator properly be implemented in REST?

The server returns a different random number each time.
I can see arguments for both ways.
I'm trying to make a test for checking whether a sys.argv input matches the regex for an IP address...
As a simple test, I have the following...

However when I pass random values into it, it returns "Acceptable ip address" in most cases, except when I have an "address" that is basically equivalent to \d+

Is it possible to turn result sets obtained in LINQ through a stored procedure or function call into a "live" set of objects of which I can retrieve Foreign Key related objects?
If, for example, my stored procedure returns a set of rows (= LINQ objects) of type "Contact", then I can't seem to obtain Contact.BillingAddress (which is related by Foreign Key).
Any idea how to make this work?
I'm invoking a rest service that returns JSON like this:

I would like to think that I can invoke this service with a java.util.Map as the response type but that's not working for me. I get this exception:
org.springframework.web.client.RestClientException: Could not extract response: no suitable HttpMessageConverter found for response type [interface java.util.Map]
Should I just specify String as the response type and convert the JSON to a Map?
I have a table that I'm querying for value 43 in the second field and I return the value of the third field
SELECT t1_field3 FROM table1 WHERE t1_field2=43
this returns 19, 39,73

Then I separately query a second table for additional information

Effectively, they do the same thing. If $val isn't 'a', the function returns false. Just personal preference?

I am not so good with regex. I am struggling to find a solution for a small functionality.
I have a ajax response which returns a string like "Your ticket has been successfully logged. Please follow the link to view details 123432."
All I have to do is replace that number 123432 with <a href="blablabla.com?ticket=123432"> using javascript.
When I type ctags -e it returns an error saying it doesn't know that command line option. I thought it should know about exuberant tags because etags works on cli.
Also, I recieve the following error: ctags: unrecognized option --langdef=arc and I have the following in my ~/.ctags file:

When does the AVAudioPlayer's currentTime method return a negative value? The audio file is playing (I am putting in a check before getting currentTime) but making a call to currentTime returns a negative value.

I'm currently using the fb package to write a Yesod app that takes data from Facebook. In my Handler, I've managed to get the first step of the authentication to work, but I need to redirect to the url that getUserAccessTokenStep1 returns, which I've defined as fbRedirUrl. I'm having trouble with all the monad wrapping and type checking to make sure I can redirect to this url.

Exporting by SELECT ... INTO OUTFILE returns some plain text file. I'm not sure how to read it back in excel so that japanese character would show properly

I'm trying to do an Insert operation using iBatis.

The inner select query always fails and returns NULL. But if I substitute #field2# with the actual value only in the inner query, it works fine.
Why is iBatis not substituting fieldvalues in the innerqueries?
Any ideas?

So when I pass these two employee objects to my GetDifferingProperties method currently it returns FirstName and EmployeeAddress, but it does not tell me which exact property (which in this case is Address1) in the EmployeeAddress has changed. How can I tweak this method to get something like EmployeeAddress.Address1?
navigator.onLine is still returning true when I turn off Wi-Fi (Airport on my notebook in OS X). This is counterintuitive behavior. But when I set "work offline" in a browser like Firefox, it correctly returns false. Is this expected?

it returns:

I don't get how the concatenation operator is working with map. It is concatenating each head of x in the same function call? How?

Test1 and Test2 seem vague and it would need to test a specific calculation, so it doesn't really describe what is being tested. Yet test3 is very limited.
What is a good way to test such classes?
Hey guys I have a connection class I found for pdo. I am calling the connection method on the page that the file is included on. The problem is that within functions the $conn variable is not defined even though I stated the method was public (bare with me I am very new to OOP), and I was wondering if anyone had an elegant solution other then using global in every function. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

if you have a function "test a b" which returns true if a and b are connected directly and if you have a given unordered list of things, what would be an elegant and fast solution to filter all connected things from given list?
Example:
