  • How to set form name and id using cakephp FormHelper class?

    - by chiggsy
I'm trying to create a form using Cakephp's FormHelper class. The form needs to have a name and and an id. I fail to see an option for that however. Looking at the documentation for the Formhelper, I see a lot of things, but not a way to set name and option. It's not in the source for the Formhelper either. How are these values set? Cakephp v1.2 is the version of cake i'm running here EDIT: the form is being submitted to an external destination. It is not a form associated with any model in the app.

  • Clustered index dilemma - ID or sort?

    - by richardtallent
I have a table with two very important fields: id INT identity(1,1) PRIMARY KEY identifiersortcode VARCHAR(900) My app always sorts and pages search results in the UI based on identifiersortcode, but all table joins (and they are legion) are on the id field. (Aside: yes, the sort code really is that long. There's a strong BL reason.) Also, due to O/RM use, most SELECT statements are going to pull almost every column. Currently, the clustered index is on id, but I'm wondering if the TOP / ORDER BY portion of most queries would make identifiersortcode a more attractive option as the clustered key, even considering all of the table joins going on. Inserts on the table and changes to the identifiersortcode are limited enough that changing my clustered index would be a problem for insert/update operations. Trying to make the sort code's non-clustered index a covering index (using INCLUDE) is not a good option. There are a number of large columns, and some of them have a lot of update activity.

  • Patterns to implement this grammar into C# code

    - by MexicanHacker
    Hey guys, I'm creating this little BNF grammar and I wanted to <template>::= <types><editors> <types>::= <type>+ <type>::= <property>+ <property>::= <name><type> <editors>::= <editor>+ <editor>::= <name><type>(<textfield>|<form>|<list>|<pulldown>)+ <textfield>::= <label><property>[<editable>] <form>::= <label><property><editor> <list>::= <label><property><item-editor> <pulldown>::= <label><property><option>+ <option>::= <value> One possible solution we have in mind is to create POCO's that have annotations of the XMLSerialization namespace, like this, for example: [XMLRoot("template")] public class Template{ [XMLElement("types")] public Types types{ } } However I want to explore more solutions, what do you guys think?

  • Creating a proper CMS thoughts

    - by dallasclark
I'm just about to expand the functionality of our own CMS but was thinking of restructuring the database to make it simpler to add/edit data types and values. Currently, the CMS is quite flat - the CMS requires a field in the database for every type of stored value. The first option that comes to mind is simply a table which keeps the data types (ie: Address 1, Suburb, Email Address etc) and another table which holds values for each of these data types. Just like how Wordpress keeps values in the 'options' table, serialize would be used to store an array of values. The second option is how Drupal works, the CMS creates tables for every data type. Unlike Wordpress, this can be a bit of an overkill but really useful for SQL queries when ordering and grouping by a particular value. What's everyone's thoughts?

  • Restore Partioned database into multiple filegroups

    - by Renju

RESTORE DATABASE MyNwind FROM MyNwind_1 WITH NORECOVERY, MOVE 'MyNwind_data_1' TO 'D:\MyData\MyNwind_data_1.mdf', MOVE 'MyNwind_data_2' TO 'D:\MyData\MyNwind_data_2.ndf' GO -- Apply the first transaction log backup. • Imitate database in C

    - by Mohit Deshpande
I am fairly new to C. (I have good knowledge of C# [Visual Studio] and Java [Eclipse]) I want to make a program that stores information. My first instinct was to use a database like SQL Server. But I don't think that it is compatible with C. So now I have two options: Create a struct (also typedef) containing the data types. Find a way to integrate SQLite through a C header file Which option do you think is best? Or do you have another option? I am kind of leaning toward making a struct with a typedef, but could be pursuaded to change my mind.

  • Drop down select to change a second drop down select automatically

    - by zvzej
    I have a webpage where I have a form with several areas to input text and two drop down select options countries is the first one and depending in witch country is chosen the second should display the estates for that country to choose. my page connects to my db from where it gets the countries and estates.... I have a table with the country names and one table for each country estates. so all I'm trying to do is making it change the states to choose from automatically depending witch country got selected with out summiting the form since that enters a new entry to another table in my db. I seen that using javascript is the way to go but can't get it to work in my case since I don't want to be sent to another page or summit the form. here is part of my code any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks $paissql = "SELECT * FROM Paises_table"; $paisresult = mysql_query($paissql); ?> <script language="text/javascript"> function showMe(str) { <? $estadosql = "SELECT * FROM ".str."_table"; $estadoresult = mysql_query($estadosql); ?> } </script> <TABLE BORDER="2" CELLPADDING="2" CELLSPACING="2" ALIGN="CENTER"> <form action="<?php echo $_SERVER['PHP_SELF']?>" method=POST> <TR><th> id </th> <td><?php echo $row_to_edit['id']?></td> </TR> <TR><th>Nombre:</th><td><input type="TEXT" name=Nombre value="<?php echo $row_to_edit['Id_Nombre']?>" SIZE="100"></td></TR> </td></TR> <TR><th>Pais:</th><td> <select name=Pais onchange="showMe(this.value);" > <? while($rowp = mysql_fetch_array($paisresult)) { $pais = $rowp['Name']; ?> <option value=<?php echo $pais; ?> <?php if($row_to_edit['Pais']==$pais) { echo ' selected="true"';} ?> ><?php echo $pais; ?> </option> <? } ?> </select></td></TR> <TR><th>Estado:</th><td> <select name=Estado > <? while($rowe = mysql_fetch_array($estadoresult)) { $estado = $rowe['Estado']; ?> <option value=<?php echo $estado; ?> <?php if($row_to_edit['Estado']==$estado) { echo ' selected="true"';} ?> ><?php echo $estado; ?></option> <? } ?> <TR><th>Ciudad:</th><td><input type="TEXT" name=Ciudad value="<?php echo $row_to_edit['Ciudad']?>" SIZE="100"></td></TR> <TR><th>Website:</th><td><input type="TEXT" name=website value="<?php echo $row_to_edit['website']?>" SIZE="100"></td></TR> <TR><td> </td> <td> <input type="HIDDEN" name="id" value="<?php echo $edit_id?>"> Para agregar preciona aqui: <input type="SUBMIT" name="ACTION" value="AGREGAR"> </td> </TR> </form> </TABLE> <BR> <BR>

  • RESTful Design: Paging Collections

    - by Koen Bok
I am designing a REST api that needs paging (per x) enforces from the server side. What would be the right way to page through any collection of resources: Option 1: GET /resource/page/<pagenr> GET /resource/tags/<tag1>,<tag2>/page/<pagenr> GET /resource/search/<query>/page/<pagenr> Option 2: GET /resource/?page=<pagenr> GET /resource/tags/<tag1>,<tag2>?page=<pagenr> GET /resource/search/<query>?page=<pagenr> If 1, what should I do with GET /resource? Redirect to /resource/page/0, reply with some error or reply with the exact same as /resource/page/0 without redirecting?

  • Custom buttons in MS-Access 2k7

    - by terence6
I'm adding some custom buttons to my forms in MS Access, but somehow I can't make them work. In buttons properties Event tab I've changed 'On Click' event to call 'Event procedure'. Then in VBasic I'm selecting my button and from what I know this code should give me prompt, and if Yos is selected the form should close. But when I click my buttons simply nothing happens. Am I doing something wrong ? Option Compare Database Option Explicit Private Sub cmdQuitApp_Click() If MsgBox("Are you sure you want to close the form?", vbYesNo + vbQuestion + vbInformation, "Clasing the form.") = vbYes Then DoCmd.Close End If End Sub

  • Sharepoint 2007: Disabling Edit/Read Only mode?

    - by TheGambler
If I open a doc in read only mode I'm able to press save and then it opens up a save as box and the default directory is the directory on the sharepoint server and if you press save you save it to the server. This actually makes the whole process not really "read only" mode since I could actually update the document. Is there a way to prevent this from happening so that if someone chooses read only there is no way possible to updload any changes back to the sharepoint site? Also, it has been suggested as a solution to get rid of the edit/read only option so that people have to check out the document. Is there a way to remove the edit/read only option on documents?

  • Is there a way to programatically popup the "Microsoft Silverlight Configuration" dialog?

    - by Jim McCurdy
I am building for Silverlight 4, and I handle MouseRightButtonDown events and build my own ContextMenu's (a class from the Silverlight Toolkit). I would like to add the classic "Silverlight" menu item to my menus, and give the user the familiar option of launching the "Microsoft Silverlight Configuration" dialog. This is the dialog lets users manage Updates, Webcams, Permissions, and Application Storage. So I need a way to programatically launch the dialog when the menu item is clicked. I can be done for Flash, and it would seem that Microsoft would want to encourage developers to support that option. Can it be done?

  • About sqlite use.

    - by rantravee
Hi, There are some things my application needs to do on first start up(first startup after update) . These actions could be described in a .txt file and then when it is the case read the file and do according to it ,or on the other hand (I lean to use this option) a sqlite database could be used to store the information . The apk file would be shipped with an .txt file/prebuild sql db stored in res/raw or res.asset and then copied into proper space and used. This I have figured out how !, though I'm not sure which option of this two would be the fittest ? One thing that is unclear to me is how could sqlite version mismatch affect me, and if it serious enough to take into consideration ? I 'm using Android api level 4 (Android 1.6) and the future application might be used on several different devices , with different api levels.

  • Javascript array - merge two arrays into one

    - by estrar
    I have two arrays, one with name of the country and one with the currency type. I would like to merge these together and use the country key instead of the currencies array. What would be the best way to accomplish this? This is what my code looks like now: var country = new Array(); country["SEK"] = 'Sweden'; country["USD"] = 'United states'; var currencies = ["SEK","USD"]; var options = ''; for (var i = 0; i < currencies.length; i++) { options += '<option value="' + currencies[i] + '" id="' + currencies[i] + '">' + currencies[i] + ' (' + country[currencies[i]] + ')</option>'; }

  • Integrating Fish eye with Jenkins

    - by ramaperumal
Jenkins is up and running in my organization. In configure tab under Repository browser we have an option called fish eye.If I select fish eye as an repository browser it is asking the fish eye URL (such as http://fisheye6.cenqua.com/browse/ant/)My requirment is I need to fetch the reports such as (we would like to track the SVN to take chain change report, to give statistics on how many check-in happening in each code base, how many cut has been taken from each branches…etc ).We need to achieve all these things in Jenkins itself. For performing such things we need to setup the seperate fish eye server. If that is the case why we have the fish eye option in jenkins. We can perform all these activities in Fisheye instead of Jenkins. Please suggest, Thx Rama

  • ERD-CLASS design

    - by Mahesh
Hello guyz,i am new to daatbase and class diagram.I just get scenarios from internet and try to develop ERD and Class Diagram for them. But the following scenario has caused me some problems, and i am not sure about my design. "Whenever an employee fills leave application form, the leave application should be appeared for approval to his/her team leader. Team Leader has the option to change the date of requested leave and to approve or reject the leave. Employee also has the option to change date of previously unapproved leaves or to cancel any of unapproved leave. In case of team leader, he can approve his own leaves. Management should be able to create categories of leaves like (Casual, Sick, Planned work, etc) and should be able to adjust the days allocated to each type of leave". I have identified these as entities for ERD 1) Employee(I think i dont need to make entity for Technical lead, since he is an employee) 2) LeaveHistory 3) LeaveCategory Plz correct me if the system need more classes or entities

  • Visual Studio 2010 SQL Server Database Project - Ignore Stored Procedures and Functions

    - by Carter
I really like the new SQL Server Database projects in Visual Studio 2010. I also like using the "Generate DROP statements for objects that are in the target database but that are not in the database project" option in the deployment properties. However, I do not want to manage Stored Procedures and Functions using this interface; I have another tool for that. Every time I do a build and deploy, VS will drop my stored procedures that I have created with my external program. I would like to essentially "ignore" stored procedures and functions. Is there a way to ignore stored procedures and functions when building SQL Server Database projects? I won't be able to use the "Generate DROP statements..." option if I want to use my external tool for stored procedures and functions.

  • jQuery UI datepicker options as varialbe

    - by Desmond Liang
I have a number of inputs on a page function as JQ UI datepicker. Each needs to have different settings. I want to minimize the JS so I save the settings as an attribute in each individual . <input type="text" class="datepicker" name="dateofbirth" id="dateofbirth" size="20" value="" options="{ dateFormat: 'yy-mm-dd',changeYear: true, yearRange: '1920:2010'}" /> <input type="text" class="datepicker" name="expdate" id="expdate" size="20" value="" options="{ yearRange: '2011:2020'}" /> I use js to load the options dynamically as the settings. $(document).ready(function(){ $(".datepicker").each(function(index){ $(this).datepicker("option" , $(this).attr('options')); }); }); datepicker is not functioning. If I empty the parentheses after $this.datepicker it works fine. I have also tried another way to assign settings. ("option",...) no dice.

  • SSIS 2005 - How to Import a Fixed Width Flat File?

    - by Greg
I have a flat file that looks something like this: junk I don't care about \n \n columns names\n val1 val2 val3\n val1 val2 val3\n columns names \n val1 val2 val3\n I only care the lines with values. These value lines are all fixed width format and have the same line length. The other junk lines and column names can have any line width. When I try the flat file fixed width option or the ragged right option the preview looks all wrong. Any ideas what the easiest way to get this into SSIS is?

  • Distribute CouchDB as part of a Rails app?

    - by AaronThomson
I am working on a Rails project and the Architect has asked me to investigate bundling CouchDB into to application so that it can be deployed by Capistrano across multiple platforms and managed by Rake. My expectation was that I could set up the Erlang VM on the various environments and then distribute the CouchDB application with Capistrano. However I can't find any option to download CouchDB without the Erlang runtime. I can, however see an option to build CouchDB from source which I assume is platform dependent. I am new to Erlang and CouchBD, am I missing something? Is there a way to bundle CouchDB into a Rails app and distribute it across multiple platforms?

  • C++ best practice: Returning reference vs. object

    - by Mike Crowe
Hi folks, I'm trying to learn C++, and trying to understand returning objects. I seem to see 2 ways of doing this, and need to understand what is the best practice. Option 1: QList<Weight *> ret; Weight *weight = new Weight(cname, "Weight"); ret.append(weight); ret.append(c); return &ret; Option 2: QList<Weight *> *ret = new QList(); Weight *weight = new Weight(cname, "Weight"); ret->append(weight); ret->append(c); return ret; (of course, I may not understand this yet either). Which way is considered best-practice, and should be followed? TIA Mike

  • How to quickly analyse large MDB file

    - by Craig Johnston
I need to know how to quickly analyse a large MDB file (about 1GB) to see which tables are causing it to be so big. Is there something will easily allow me to show a breakdown of which tables are responsible for how much data. I need to know whether it is just this one customer who is using the application differently, or whether there is genuinely a lot of data in the MDB. This MDB is currently causing the VB app to crash, and I need to know why it is so big so that I can maybe think about how to put some of the data into another 'archival' MDB. Migrating to SQL Server is not an option, unless the use of linked tables from an MDB is a realistic option.

  • deep injection - spring

    - by Bob
What is the best way (or options) for accessing spring components at layers deep within the application that aren't managed by spring? For example, I have a low level utility POJO class into which I need to autowire/inject a spring component. I'll call it LowLevelHelper. There are multiple classes that use LowLevelHelper - most are layers away from anything that is hooked up with spring. One option would be to make all the layers in to spring components, but that seems like I'm hacking my design to force spring to help me. I have some complex things going on that won't be nearly as clean if I have to @Autowire all the pieces and don't new anything. Another option might be to manually inject the component in the low level class, but I'm not really sure if this is possible or the right solution.

  • RewriteCond and Full QUERY_STRING

    - by Tim
I'm having hard time getting my head wrapped around this one - and it should be trivial. I would like to redirect one URL with a specific query string to another URL. I want to send any requests that contain the query string in the URL http://mysite.com/index.php?option=com_user&view=register To: http://mysite.com/index.php?option=com_regme&view=form&regme=4&random=0&Itemid=6 If they add anything to the end of the first URL, it should still go to the second URL so that they cannot bypass the redirection. Nothing in the first query string needs to be preserved and passed to the second - all I want to do is change the URL completely. I'm tearing my hair out trying to get this to work yet it should be trivial. Suggestions? Thanks, -Tim
