  Sometimes I find myself want to learn PHP and sometimes I say no no I should learn ASP.NET and C#. This is my situation since a year maybe and I did not learn that much! I like to focus on one thing and love it and give it most of my time. However, as you can see I keep asking questions about the two PHP and .NET and I am still lost!. Which one should I choose from the two? How can I choose it? I want to be seen as a professional in one of them and I want to work as a freelancer to get money.   I have 3 rotating banners on one 728x90 position on my website, so every time a page is loaded another banner is shown. One of these is AdSense. Is it legal, I mean is this strictly prohibited or not? Because, the code is basically stored in db table in my CMS module in Wordpress, so I guess it is OK. But I am asking to be sure.   I recently heard that a big part in successful/quick debugging and easing the process of programming is to use a big screen. I may be purchasing a new computer in the future and this has me wondering: 1)Is the aforementioned statement actually true or is it a bit of a stretch? 2)Have you noticed that this plays a significant enough part to buy a bigger screen if the bigger screen is significantly more expensive? 3)Is it common for developers to work on 13'' laptop screen as their main (and only) workstation (this is what I currently develop on) or is this actually disadvantageous? • What is juju doing when my deployment is "pending"? It seems to take awhile without much happening

  After deploying a charm, either locally or not, juju status lists "Pending". It seems to sit in this state for awhile, longer in my experience in the cloud, a bit shorter locally. What is juju doing during this time? For local instances it's a couple minutes or less, longer with cloud instances, up to 10 minutes in some cases. I am just curious if deploy's stay pending when the VM is being setup or is something else going on?

  Beginners and professional, on blogs, in forums and chatrooms - people say it everywhere: C++ oh dear god no The short form of the question: For what reason is C++ so widely disliked and people are horrified by the imagination of using it for some project? I have been using a lot of different languages, including C++ by now, and I can only say that I really like it. I'm far more horrified by Delphi than by C++. Actually, I find it's an almost perfect, compiled language! I've been doing a lot of different projects in C++ as well, ranging from 3D video games to webservers and emulators for old video game consoles. And I still do not see the problem everyone else seems to have with it! It was hard for me to get into it of course, as it is quite complex and has a lot of depth, but after that it's simply great.

• ubuntu server restarting instead of shutting down

  Whenever I try to shutdown my pc by using sudo shutdown -... now (it doesn't matter what I fill in for the ...), it always shutdowns down for about 3-4 seconds, and than just powers up again. I'm sure WOL is disabled, and just to be sure I tested it with ethernet cable unplugged. It's a fresh install of ubuntu server 14.04. It's also a new pc so I do not have any prior experience with it. Any help would be very much appreciated

  How can I override the close button near minimize/maximize in such a way that the application doesn't automatically close. I want it to show an exit screen or something like this, so I would like to be able to delay the close and display something on the screen when I press the red close button. At first I thought that I should override the OnExiting() method, but I couldn't get it working. This is my first attempt at creating a fully functional game, so I have no previous experience in game development nor with XNA.
