I need to add two lines of html to every page on a large website. I will be using a regex to do it.
I would like to know the best tools to download all the html files from a website, then ftp upload them back up on Windows.
Hello,

Is there any way I can parse a remote html page, in Ruby, preferably using jQuery like selectors?
For example, I could select all the div having a specific class, and get the content of all those elements in an array.
I was trying to use Regex for this, but I think using XML parser would be better.
In every Turing-Complete language, is it possible to create a working
Compiler for itself which first runs on an interpreter written in some other language and then compiles it's own source code? (Bootstrapping)
Standards-Compilant C++ compiler which outputs binaries for, e.g.: Windows?
Regex Parser and Evaluater?
World of Warcraft clone? (Assuming the language gets the necessary API bindings as, for example, OpenGL and the WoW source code is available)
(Everything here theoretical)
Let's take Brainf*ck as an example language.
It's clear how to create a URLPattern which dispatches from a URL regex:
(r'^books/$', books),
where books can further dispatch on request method:
def books(request):
if request.method == 'POST':
...
else
...
I'd like to know if there is an idiomatic way to include the request method inside the URLPattern, keeping all dispatch/route information in a single location, such as:
(r'^books/$', GET, retrieve-book),
(r'^books/$', POST, update-books),
(r'^books/$', PUT, create-books),
I'm already familiar with how to use onSubmit to evaluate form content against RegEx to ensure it meets static parameters for acceptable content. What I'm wondering is if there is a way to further provide validation against a MySQL database, such as if you want to make sure an e-mail address hasn't been used yet before submitting a form and having to re-load the field data back into the proper places for correction.
I need to replace everything after a dot . I know that it can be done with regex but I'm still novice and I don't understand the proper syntax so please help me with this .
I tried the bellow code but doesn't work :
$x = "340.888888";
$pattern = "/*./"
$y = preg_replace($pattern, "", $x);
print_r($x);
thanks ,
Michael
I am using ctags to create tags for my Emacs to read symbols from, using cygwin.
Emacs says "visit-tags-table-buffer: File /home/superman/tags is not a valid tags table"
here are my options to find files and generate tags.
$>find . -type f -regex '.*\.[hc]\|.*\.cpp' -print0 |
xargs -0 ctags -e --extra=+q --fields=+fksaiS --c++-kinds=+px --append -f ~/tags
Is it possible to nest simple programs within a Google doc spreadsheet, similar to how you would w/Basic in Excel? Or alternatively a simple = syntax using regex, if there is a way to do that in google docs?
I want to take a list of multiple names(name1, name2, name3) in a single cell from across multiple identical sheets and transpose them to another sheet within the same spreadsheet, check for duplicates and ignore capitals, etc. Is there a way to do this?
Hi, I am wondering if there is a Javascript equivalent of php's parse_url. Currently, I wrote my a simple parser with regex; however, I would think that such function already exists in the in Javascript.
Hi,
could someone recommend a PHP form validation library (that works independently outside of any php framework) that apart from doing all sort of basic validation (is empty, vs regex, is email, is alphanumeric and so on) can produce javascript code (ideally to work with jquery) to validate the very same form with the very same rules client-side and hence define validation rules in a single place and have a form validated both server and client side?
Thanks.
I would like to rewrite dynamic URL
/index.php?pid=login&redirect=/previous-page.html
to something like this
/login.html-r-previous-page.html
I tried this
RewriteRule ^login.html-r-(.*)$ /index.php?pid=login&redirect=$1 [L]
But no succes. I was also trying to change the regex to .+ or some other forms, but it seems useless. Maybe I am making mistake somewhere else.
I am new to regular expressions and also mod_rewrite.
Thank you for help
What is the efficient way to search highest number of cells in big table with numerous colspan (merge cells ** colspan should be ignored so in below example highest number of cells is 4 in first row). Is it js/jquery with reg expression or just the loop with bubble sorting. I got one link as below explainig use of regex is it ideal way ... can someone suggest pseudo code for this.
High cpu consumption due to a jquery regex patch

Hi,
Is there a way in vim to give a list of editor commands? I want to execute a series of 'global' commands, and there is some pattern to the commands. So I would ideally like to generate the list of commands (using regex search & substitute), and then run them, instead of having to type in each command.
Thanks!
Gaurav
I have tried .NET Reactor but it seems to break our complex application even with the most simple option (just rename method name). Also, it does not provide any option to filter method names by Regex like DotFuscator. DotFuscator is very good but it is too expensive. I have heard about Xeno code and other tools.
Any one has any ideas on which one is best?
Hi lads,
After obtaining the urls for various blogspots, tumblr and wordpress pages, I faced some problems processing the html pages. The thing is, i wish to distinguish between the content,title and date for each blog post. I might be able to get the date through regex, but there are so many custom scripts people are using now that the html classes and structure is so different.
Does anyone has a solution that may help?
I want to build a regex that matches PHP-style error messages in HTML source code.
Does anybody know of one that exists or how I can create a list of possible PHP error outputs?

hi,
since eregi replace was deprecated on version 5.3 i want to make my program compatible with new version of php
http://php.net/manual/en/function.eregi-replace.php
so, i'm trying to use preg_replace like this
preg_replace(",",'','20,000.00');
but come with error
i'm familiar with eregi_replace(',','','20,000.00'); i'm not familiar with regex expression. what is the best replacement for eregi_replace?
When searching for number of occurrences of a string in a file, I generally use:
grep pattern file | wc -l
However, this only finds one occurrence per line, because of the way grep works. How can I search for the number of times a string appears in a file, regardless of whether they are on the same or different lines?
Also, what if I'm searching for a regex pattern, not a simple string? How can I count those, or, even better, print each match on a new line?
How can i find substrings inside string and then remember and delete it when i found it.
EXAMPLE:
select * from (select a.iid_organizacijske_enote,
a.sifra_organizacijske_enote "Sifra OE",
a.naziv_organizacijske_enote "Naziv OE",
a.tip_organizacijske_enote "Tip OE"
I would like to get all word inside " ", so
Sifra OE
Naziv OE
TIP OE
and return
select * from (select a.iid_organizacijske_enote,
a.sifra_organizacijske_enote,
a.naziv_organizacijske_enote,
a.tip_organizacijske_enote
i try with regex, indexOf() but no one works ok
Hi,
I have a string that is
$str = "testingSUB1";
How can I strip out SUB* from the string? I assume using preg_replace but I'm not good with matching what I want with regex.
Does anyone know how I can do this?
Thank you
I use this regex on some input,
[^a-zA-Z0-9@#]
However this ends up removing lots of html special characters within the input, such as
227;, #1606;, #1588; (i had to remove the & prefix so that it wouldn't show up as the actual value..)
is there a way that I can convert them to their values so that it will satisfy the regexp expression? I also have no idea why the text decided to be so big.
