  • WMF image data validation?

    - by deostroll
There is an image capturing device which gives its output in wmf. This output is stored in the database directly. We have cases where at times some of these images do not appear on a web page in IE. But if we right click on the page we are able to save the image on to the hard disk; meaning the image does exist on the page, but does not appear visible. I think this is because of some file corruption issue, but I don't know how to resolve it. We are however able to view such files using MS Picture Viewer (desktop app). Is there anyway we can detect such problematic files?

  • save to sql server database fromclient side

    - by user281693
I have a gridview with dropdownlist in it. When the user changes the item in the dropdownlist I want to save the new item in the database. I want this to happen using javascript and ajax like effect. I know how to access the dropdownlist inside gridview using javascript and I can get the new selectd item. But how can I save it to database without server side code? I know one way of doing this is using web services. I just want to know if there is/are any other ways to do it.

  • Queues And Wait Handles in C#

    - by Michael Covelli
I've had the following code in my application for some years and have never seen an issue from it. while ((PendingOrders.Count > 0) || (WaitHandle.WaitAny(CommandEventArr) != 1)) { lock (PendingOrders) { if (PendingOrders.Count > 0) { fbo = PendingOrders.Dequeue(); } else { fbo = null; } } // Do Some Work if fbo is != null } Where CommandEventArr is made up of the NewOrderEvent (an auto reset event) and the ExitEvent (a manual reset event). But I just realized today that its not thread safe at all. If this thread gets interrupted right after the first (PendingOrder.Count 0) check has returned false. And then the other thread both enqueues an order and sets the NewOrderEvent before I get a chance to wait on it, the body of the while loop will never run. What's the usual pattern used with a Queue and an AutoResetEvent to fix this and do what I'm trying to do with the code above?

  • Would you use WCF Linq and JSON for an API

    - by Rico
Ok Im building AN API but also wanting to have that API used by my own Application. I am pondering WCF, LinQ and JSON for my Webservices and Data and Silverlight for my application. I have a few questions. 1) would you recommend XML over JSON or Json over XML? a) is Json going to transfer and deserialize faster natively or is XML going to transfer and deserialize faster? 2) would Using LINQ hinder anyone connecting to my Service form PHP? 3) Would you recommend something different?

  • I have a custom type which i want to serialize, this custom type accepts input which might consists

    - by starz26
I have a custom type which i want to serialize, this custom type accepts input which might consists of escape chars. M1_Serilizer(MyCustomType customTypeObj) {XmlSerializer serializer = new XmlSerializer(typeof(MyCustomType)); StringWriter sw = new StringWriter(CultureInfo.InvariantCulture); serializer.Serialize(sw, customTypeObj); string str= sw.ToString(); M2_Deserializer(str); } M2_Deserializer(string str) { XmlSerializer serializer = new XmlSerializer(typeof(MyCustomType)); StringReader sr = new StringReader(str); MyCustomType customTypeObj = (MyCustomType)serializer.Deserialize(sr); } when escape type chars are part of the CustomTypeObj, on deserialization it throws an exception. Q1)How do i overcome this?, Q2)I should use StringReader and StringWriter and not memorystream or other thing ways. StringWriter/reader will only serve my internal functionality Q3)How can these escape chars be handled?

  • “User Control” uses an incorrect event

    - by Lijo
Hi, I am using two instances of a user control. But when I click on a button in the user control, both of the instances calls the function corresponding to the first event (AcknowledgeReceipt()) However, when I remove the first user control and clicks on the btnRequestClarification, it calls the correct method (RequestClarification()) Is there a way to correct this behavior? acknowledgeModificationPopupCtrl = (ConfirmationPopup)this.LoadControl("~/ConfirmationPopup.ascx"); plHConfirmationPopup.Controls.Add(acknowledgeModificationPopupCtrl); acknowledgeModificationPopupCtrl.ContinueClick += new EventHandler(AcknowledgeReceipt); RequiredFieldValidator reqFValidatorAcknowledge = (RequiredFieldValidator)acknowledgeModificationPopupCtrl.FindControl("reqValidatorTxt"); reqFValidatorAcknowledge.ValidationGroup = "AcknowledgeReceipt"; acknowledgeModificationPopupCtrl.ValidationGroup = "AcknowledgeReceipt"; btnAcknowledgeReceipt.Attributes.Add("onclick", "validateconfirmPopup('true','xx' ,’yyy','Note' ,'true'); return false;"); requestModificationPopupCtrl = (ConfirmationPopup)this.LoadControl("~/ConfirmationPopup.ascx"); plHConfirmationPopup.Controls.Add(requestModificationPopupCtrl); requestModificationPopupCtrl.ContinueClick += new EventHandler(RequestClarification); RequiredFieldValidator reqFValidator = (RequiredFieldValidator)requestModificationPopupCtrl.FindControl("reqValidatorTxt"); reqFValidator.ValidationGroup = "request"; requestModificationPopupCtrl.ValidationGroup = "request"; btnRequestClarification.Attributes.Add("onclick", "validateconfirmPopup('true',’kkk' ,’lll','ff' ,'true'); return false;"); Thanks Lijo

  • How to access web page hierarchy inside a application.

    - by Hazior
Trying to figure out how to programmatically access the web pages in the application. Just something simple like a list of them would be awesome. I know I can create a list but I was wondering if there was something that could 'look' at the pages and add a new one to the list if you make a new page for the application. Example with 7 pages: Error Default Login Content Users ContactUs Admin I am half awake so I may be a little unclear. Maybe puting it all in a single question will be easier. How do you autogenerate a list of all webpages in your current application?

  • advice on how to create dynamic controls

    - by user554134
Hi, My web page will get a set of results from the database and display it to the user. However I am not sure about "number" of results. Each result will have a panel which contains several controls in itself, an image, several labels, etc. What is the best way to do this dynamically, eg. create these controls dynamically? Is it better to use an AJAX control? Should I use Gridview? Thanks for the help, Behrouz

  • Which substring of the string1 matches with the string2.

    - by Harikrishna
There are two strings. String str1="Order Number Order Time Trade Number"; String str2="Order Tm"; Then I want to know that str2 matches with which substring in the str1. string regex = Regex.Escape(str2.Replace(@"\ ", @"\s*"); bool isColumnNameMatched = Regex.IsMatch(str1, regex, RegexOptions.IgnoreCase); I am using regex because "Order Tm" will also matches "Order Time".It gives bool value that matches occurred or not. Like str2="Order Tm" then it should return like in the str1,Order Time is the substring where matches is occurred.

  • Why does var evaluate to System.Object in "foreach (var row in table.Rows)"?

    - by DanM
When I enter this foreach statement... foreach (var row in table.Rows) ...the tooltip for var says class System.Object I'm confused why it's not class System.Data.DataRow. (In case you're wondering, yes, I have using System.Data at the top of my code file.) If I declare the type explicitly, as in... foreach (DataRow row in table.Rows) ...it works fine with no errors. Also if I do... var numbers = new int[] { 1, 2, 3 }; foreach (var number in numbers) ...var evaluates to struct System.Int32. So, the problem is not that var doesn't work in a foreach clause. So, there's something strange about DataRowCollection where the items don't automatically evaluate to DataRow. But I can't figure out what it is. Does anyone have an explanation?
