    How much does it matter what server side language is used for building a web app to take advantage of HTML 5? It seems to me that the ruby community will probably have the fastest uptake, and as a result the most support. Does that seem right? If I want to make a serious investment in HTML5, what server side language should I use?

  • mysql_connect randomly hangs up

    I install php 5 (more precisely 5.3.1) as apache module. After this one of my application becomes randomly hang up on mysql_connect - sometimes works, sometimes no, sometimes reload of page helps. How can this be fixed? I use Windows Vista, Apache/2.2.14 (Win32) PHP/5.3.1 with php module, MySql 5.0.67-community-nt.

  • java alternative for phpMyAdmin

    I find myself working in an environment where all I have access to is Tomcat + MySQL. No Apache, no PHP. I'm looking for a web interface to MySQL that will run under Tomcat (can't be a desktop interface, as the mysql port is not accessible). I'm tried jMyAdmin and javaMyAdmin. I can't get either to work, and both lack documentation and community support. Can anyone make a recommendation please?

    hey guys I searched for a while on how to find a benchmarking software that can simulate crowd website with more than 1000 users online to find out leaks in my php/mysql script . as long as i ran my script for a huge community and it wasn't successful enough and lots of RAM usage happened , now I need a way to simulate that much usage to benchmark my script and optimize it . I am mainly interested in knowing how and where you place different windows like the variables window, code window, the stack. Also possibly the relative size of different windows.   • When is it okay to reference WindowsBase.dll?

    I've heard/read about people not wanting to reference the assembly because of the Windows component (e.g. "I don't want to reference Windows for my Web App). I'd like to hear what a large community feels about this. For which project types (business, data access, etc.) is it considered acceptable to reference WindowsBase.dll.
