a question on webpage data scraping using Java

Hi there. I am now trying to implement a simple HTML webpage scraper using Java.Now I have a small problem. I am now considering using a regular expression,and then use the java.util.Pattern to help get the data out,but still not very clear about the process. mailto fails in IE where there is a long body text. Is there any way to resolve this?

I am having a problem using Internet Explorer 8 (IE8) to open mailto links with long messages. Strange IE7 behaviors(or not)

I see no reason why this shouldn't work in all browsers, here is my css for anchor tag : .myButton{ background:none repeat scroll 0 0 #FFFFFF; border:1px solid #D8DFEA !important; color:#3B5998; cursor:pointer; font-size:20px; padding:10px; } Here is how it looks in IE7 : And here is how it looks in other browsers : HTML is nothing unusual as well : <a href="#" class="myButton">Beta</a> All of this is inside table, this anchor html is wrapped around with : <tr> <td><a>...</a></td> <tr> I don't think this has to do it with anything but I mentioned it just in case, so the button is missing border top, any indications what might cause this?

tiny mce sql error when adding links

I am using tiny mce with a script I built for uploading some content to a blog like system. Whenever I add a link via tiny mce I get this error. Returning Json object from controller action to jQuery

I'm working on a log in where I'm calling the controller action from jQuery, passing it a JSON object (utilizing json2.js) and returning a Json object from the controller. Ok, here's the question, I have an xml doc that is being import into an AS3 file and then with .htmlText, appending it to a movie clip. Xhtml instead of Php?

I want to develop a site that will allow be to publish information to users, and give them and opportunity to subscribe to a mailing list so they can be updated each time I make a change to the site. *Add new information, etc. I also would like for the users to be able to add comments about reviews posted, and give me suggestions...Things that will encourage user interaction I understand that this is possible with php... But I do not know php, and to learn and test it I apparently need a domain to begin with...etc. Is it possible that I use Xhtml/Html to get the same results? -- I know I can use the <a href="mailto:[email protected]"; subject="Email from Site user">Mail</a> but that would also leave my email open to spam...Any suggestions? And I do apologize if this question has been posted before, I did some research and found no such thing. All helpful responses are appreciated.

how to prevent checkbox check when clicking on link inside label

Hello, I have a link inside a label. The problem is, when user clicks 'back' after having read the terms, the checkbox is unchecked, because when they clicked on the link they also unchecked the box at the same time, since the link is inside a label. <input type="checkbox" id="terms" name="terms" checked="checked" /> <label for="terms">I agree to be bound by the <a href="/terms">Terms</a></label> How can I prevent the checkbox from being checked when link is clicked? Tried doing event.preventDefault() on label click, but that doesn't prevent checkbox from being checked/unchecked. I could just take out the link from inside a label (which means more CSS styling). But now I'm curious whether the above is possible.

Linking to external file in Ruby on Rails I have a file I want to share as a link in my rails app. I create a link to it in the .erb file like this <li><a href="somefile.pdf">Some File</a> </li> When I select the link I get the following error. Routing Error No route matches "/pages/somefile.pdf" with {:method=:get} Do I really need a route for this? I really just want the save as dialog to popup. Just a link to a file that the user can open or download. What is the rails way to do this (rails newbie here)?

Link to another file in chrome extension

I want to have a link in the popup.html file for my extension that loads another file (which will be included with the extension) how can I do this? or will I need to keep it in the same page? I tried using this code: <a href="/mail.html"> <img id="newmail_icon" src="" width="16" height="16" /> <span id="newmail">loading</span><br /> </a> But when I click the link nothing happens. I just found out that adding target="_blank" to the link will make it work and open in a new tab, but I can't get it to open in the popup. I have tried target="_self" but it didn't do anything.

Help porting a bit of Prototype JavaScript to jQuery

I have already implemented some AJAX pagination in my Rails app by using the example code for the will_paginate plugin--which is apparently using Prototype. But if I wanted to switch to using jQuery for future additions, I really don't want to have the Prototype stuff sitting around too (yes, I know it's possible). I want to include certain .js and .css files only on pages that need them. For example, my EditorTemplate DateTime.ascx needs files anytimec.js and anytimec.css. That template is applied whenever I use either the EditorFor or EditorForModel helper methods in a view for a model with a DateTime type value. I've put this condition into the <head> section of my master page. jQuery Cluetip not activated until after hover or click event

I'm not sure what is causing this, but I am using cluetip and binding it to a live event (either click or mouseenter), but in each situation the cluetip isn't firing until after one click or hover event. I am using the live event for ajax loaded content, but I'm also having this issue with non-Ajax loaded content. I'm not sure why this is happening - can anyone see where I might be going wrong? jqGrid concatinating/building html tag incorrectly

Please excuse to length of post. But I needed to explain what I am seeing. I have a onSelectRow option that is supposed to build stacked html <li> tags (such as <li>...</li> <li>...</li> <li>...</li> ) up to the number of static xml elements that I am looking at. But my script is concatinating all the image src links together instead of building the whole listobject tag. Why Is my json-object from AJAX not understood by javascript, even with 'json' dataType?

I have this conventional submit button which submit a form like this: <form method="post" id="form_submit"> ... <input class="button" type="submit" name="Submit" value="Submit"> </form> And I check if the submit button is clicked using this: if(isset($_POST['Submit'])){ //update DB } Now I have a submit link using jquery: <a href="#" onclick="publish(); return false;">Submit</a> JS code: $("#form_submit").submit(); What is the alternative way here to be used here for if(isset($_POST['Submit'])) since I'm submitting the form using javascript?
