I need to make an animated gif 'fly over a page and follow a path. I'm thinking of using jQuery but would I be right in thinking the only way to do it is manually calculating the percentage of width/height where the shape layer should be placed, then using absolute positioning is the only way to do this? I know there are some amazing jQuery plugins available for this type of thing.
I have a C# ASP.NET MVC application which has been using jquery 1.3.2 in VS2008 environment.
I decided to upgrade to 1.4.2 and added the file to my project. Changed the reference in my masterpage header to the new version. But now nothing works, it's like it can't find the jquery library.
What could be wrong?
Hi,
This is my jquery code
jQuery(document).ready (function() {
// post
$('.post').bind('mouseenter mouseleave', function() {
$(this).filter('.btn').toggleClass('hidden');
});
});
It works great on a normal document. but When I load some HTM: (i.e some divs with .post attributes) using ajax and embed it into my DOM.
The above code doesnt work with those divs.
Is there any drop shadow plugin for jquery?
Seems there was but is no more...
Any help?
ALSO, is it possible to use jquery in a PHP file ? (I create a table in the php file)

I want to allow people to select a feature region on an image using jQuery.
This should work similarly to the Facebook tagger except once someone "tags" an area of the image an ellipse should appear with the ability for the user to rotate and scale it.
How can I achieve this using jQuery?
If I'm alreadu using jquery library on site then should i use origional sifr or jquery plugin.

I'd like to attach a handler to an element using either jQuery live() or delegate().
Looking at the docs I see I can attach the handler for a custom event.
Is this possible for either of these jQuery functions to also trigger the handler?
Basically I want to attach the handler function and run call it once.
Thank you for any help.
I want to build a relatively simple version of my site for mobile phones but i will definately need javascript and jquery for many functions.

Has anyone tried it?
Hello, i am trying to solve this problem:
i have a tab interface build with jquery.tools, more exactly i used the ajax tab to load external html files into div. you can see the example here: http://flowplayer.org/tools/demos/tabs/ajax.html
i am trying to use jquery to animated the elements loaded by ajax, do you know if and how is it possible?
i am trying both loading scripts outside, in the main page, or in the loaded page.
thanks a lot
Does anybody know of a good Jquery solution to checking for swear words when a form is submitted?
Basically I have a form which submits to Twitter, upon successfully passing a swear word check it will submit via ajax. I know how to do it in PHP (for non javascript enabled users), I did a foreach loop through an array of predefined bad words and checked them against what was submitted.
How would I do a similar thing with Jquery?
Thanks
I have used the jQuery inArray function, but Eclipse tells me that this function is undefined. I don't understand how this can be so if it comes from the jQuery API.
preId is an integer, and queryPreds is an array.
if($.inArray(preId, queryPreds) != -1){
// code in here
}
I have a JQuery dialog box on a page that calls something like this:
$.post("/MyController/MyAction", { myKey: key} //...
And this successfully gets here:
[HttpPost]
public ActionResult MyAction(int myKey)
{
//do some stuff
return RedirectToAction("AnotherAction");
}
The problem is that the RedirectToAction has no effect on the webbrowser. I am guessing this is because the JQuery post is kinda on a different 'tread' so it doesn't know where to send the response? How do I get the browser to load the new response?
i am using half dozen jquery plugins and plus my own jquery scripts and in every script i have this code:
$(document).ready(function()
{ .... }
what is the best way of organizing all the scripts in one centeralized location and instead of having multiple times $(document).ready(function() everywhere in the script.
thoughts?
I have a piece of html/javascript written in jQuery at http://pastebin.com/MzMPjtvF
My issue is the divs with images in them will only show up until $('.platform').hide() is ran, to the point that those divs won't even show up in $('.platform'). I'm not sure if its a bug or my lack of knowledge of jQuery

Hi all, I've been trying to use jquery to grab the information from $_POST and return the user back to the actual form if their email address already exists in the system, however I can't seem to get jQuery to grab the php variable $post (which has all the information from $_POST) and spit them back to the original form. Could someone help me out please? :)
Hi,
I use prototype since a long time, but for some reason I have to switch to Jquery.
I need to build a layout with resizable parts, I found http://layout.jquery-dev.net/
But I don't like the code generated, inline css is ugly.
Do you know any clean alternative?
Cheers

I'm trying to pass a variable from one function to another, but the var elmId is being returned as an object and giving an error. When we click on any of the generated divs we should be able to change the size of the div by choosing a width / height value from the drop down menus.
I'm trying to pass the clicked div id which is elmId to function displayVals but it is not working. If we replace "#"+elmId in the function displayVals with the actual id of the first div created with is "#divid1" then it works. Why is the value of var elmId not being passed to displayVals
