  • Software Engineer, Developer, Programmer - Just a name?

    I look at ads and the jobs seem to overlap. A lot of software engineer jobs even say CS or related degree so it doesn't seem like a degree in CS = software engineer. It seems like a programmer or developer with experience can transition to the role or become an "engineer". Or is the engineer just the same job with a fancy name... Is there really a difference or is it just HR throwing names around?

  • Cannot access android.R.drawable.timepicker_input

    Hello there i'm trying to write a layout similar to the timepicker widget layout. So i decided to use the android framework layouts but i can't use them It seems that if i write android.R.drawable.timepicker_input or other timepicker related drawables i get them this Eclipse error: android.R.drawable.timepicker_up_btn cannot be resolved So i tried to import all the pngs and xml from the android source but eclipse says there is an error in the manifest regarding the icon. Ideas?

  • How do I calculate the week number given a date?

    If I have a date, how do I calculate the week number for that date within that year? For example, in 2008, January 1st to January 6th are in week 1 and January 7th to the 13th are in week 2, so if my date was January 10th 2008, my week number would be 2. An algorithm would be great to get me started and sample code would also help - I'm developing in C++ on Windows. Related: Getting week number off a date in MS SQL Server 2005?

I have tried removing all add-ons, various version of Java, add the domain to the trusted sites using wildcards, and using compatibility mode to no avail. I am looking to get our Oracle guys to kick there Internet Explorer 6 habit. This is related to Oracle E-Business.

I'm aware that DA has plenty of software, but only related to customisations and UI hacks.     In my iPhone app, I'm handed the raw source of an email, in RFC822 (or "eml") format. I'd like the HTML part of this message (if one exists). Rather than attempting to parse it out myself and converting escape chars and so on, I thought I'd check to see if anyone knows of an objective-c library to do this for me. In .NET, I've always used the Mailbee classes for anything email related, but I can't seem to find anything similar for cocoa.

I have built net-snmp with python support, but it's not clear yet how to actually implement my own MIB module with python now. The python scripts i see in the python directory are related to implementing an snmp client, not an snmp agent. Probably i just miss the point somewhere.     I have been trying to get paperclip working for a few days now with no luck! From what I am aware this error below is related to imagemagick. I have tried to uninstall and install imagemagick both with macports and manually. Also, have Paperclip.options[:command_path] = "/usr/local/bin" set. It's starting to drive me nuts! Photo /var/folders/A7/A7X8PAnOFsCTHkFpeODoO++++TI/-Tmp-/stream,65411,0.jpeg is not recognized by the 'identify' command.
