  • Subsonic Simple Repo for high volume site

    Simple Repo has given me a competitive edge in my consulting. I can finish projects much faster than I could in the "cmd.Parameters.Add(param)" days. As things progress on this end im getting into higher volume sites and wondering if Simple Repo is still the way to go. Im wondering what people's experiences have been putting SR into production vs. NHibernate. Any tips or tricks for using SR in production.

  • T SQL Count question

    I'm making a report at work which looks at 5 columns which all contain v1aa, v1ab and v1ac. What I want to do is count up all the v1aa in the 5 columns and show the results (and the same for v1ab and v1ac) An example of how I like it to be displayed as is as follows :- Amber = 3 (v1aa code) Blue = 2 (v1ab code) Red = 1 (v1ac code) Could anyone give me any tips how to get me started?

  • Using tramp with EmacsW32 and cygwin, possible?

    Hi, I have some trouble setting up Tramp with EmacsW32 and cygwin. I have configured emacs to use cygwin as shell using w32shell. I also set the HOME enviromental variable to c:/cygwin/home/myusername Problem is that tramp seems to hang and that no connection is made: "Tramp waiting for prompts for the new shell". I have tried to turn on debugging, but still only see this message. Looking forward to get some tips on this. Thank you.

    I have a .net 4 application that uses a Com Dll to send SMS messages. I used TlbImp to create the interop assembly and that is what is referenced in the application. When I try to create an instance of this class, it takes a really long time (2-5 seconds). I ran performance profile in VS 2010 and the call that takes the longest by far is System.Activator.CreateInstance(). I am looking for tips on how to debug or gotchas with using Com Interop.

  • Adding a UINavigationController to a UITabBarController

    I have a set of 10 navigationViewControllers i want to the UITabBarController this all just works fine except the fact when i want to see a UINavigationController that is in the "more" tab it doesn't switch to it. it does nothing. if i change that to a UIViewController it just works fine .. ok in the more tab you automatically have a UINavigationController to you disposal but if the user switches the tab's order and its not anymore in the "more" tab you don't have a UINavigationController .. any tips ?

    Does anyone know of a .NET API (source-code is preferrable of course) that I can access all the common chat clients thru it (GT, Yahoo, MSN, AIM, FB, ICQ, SKYPE and more)? I guess I am looking for a .NET library project that performs something like pidjin. I need it because I hate Pidgin's interface and functionality, and I want to have a Google-Talk desktop like UI. We currently are using Wix for our installers as they play nice with MSBuild and I need to use it to create the installer for the outlook add-in. I have no experience with outlook add-ins and am unsure exactly what is involved and how to go about creating the installer. Can anyone share any experience/tips/examples that would help me please?     Okay. I have completed my first python program.It has around 1000 lines of code. During development I placed plenty of print stmt before running a command using os.system() say something like, print "running command",cmd os.system(cmd) Now I have completed the program.I thought about commenting them but redirecting all these unnecessary print (i can't remove all print stmt- since some provide useful info for user) into a log file will be more useful? Any tricks or tips.

  • How to take URL and split/string to get URL variables in Flash AS3

    So I have a URL that I need my Flash movie to extract variables from: example link: http://www.example.com/example_xml.php?aID=1234&bID=5678 I need to get the aID and the bID numbers. I'm able to get the full URL into a String via ExternalInterface var url:String = ExternalInterface.call("window.location.href.toString"); if (url) testField.text = url; Just unsure as how to manipulate the String to just get the 1234 and 5678 numbers. Appreciate any tips, links or help with this!

    Hi All, I am trying to compare to textbox values on an aspx form. Both the values represent dates. The are formatted like "dd/MMM/yyyy". How can I compare them in javascript to see if they are not equal and which one is greater etc... Does javascript have a date constructor for strings like this? Any tips would be appreciated.   • Allow outgoing connections using 'iptables'

    Greeting all, "iptables -L" gives the following output [root@ibmd ~]# iptables -L Chain INPUT (policy ACCEPT) target prot opt source destination Chain FORWARD (policy ACCEPT) target prot opt source destination Chain OUTPUT (policy ACCEPT) target prot opt source destination Server has global IP and can be accessed from outer IPs.But I cannot ping nor telnet to any port (including TCP 80) from the server. Does this has something to do with my 'iptables' settings ? Any tips on allow access from my server? thanks in advance.
