    It's much harder than you'd think: http://wiki.developers.facebook.com/index.php/Photos.upload The tricky part is how to create the MIME multi-part message in Rails, which Facebook requires. I'm also using a Ruby Facebook API gem (mini_fb) which signs my other requests, and in addition to having no idea how to set up the MIME multi-part, even if I did I'm not sure how to add in the required signature values with the gem. Please help!

    I love the GNU readline library, but since it is under a GPL license, I can not use it for commercial software. Do you know alternatives ? I only need the commandline history and auto completion (of customer keywords and files) features. I found this link : http://github.com/antirez/linenoise which seem to be a good starting point, but does not have auto completion. Any suggestions, surely this must be a common task for people building interactive shell commands.

It got me thinking about how the iPad is going to be classified, as a mobile platform or a desktop platform, or is it going to spark a new category. Since it runs iPhone OS, it could be considered a mobile device, but I have a hard time with that because of the screen size. What should iPad be classified as: Mobile, Desktop, or Other (Try to come up with a good name for Other)?

    Hey, I'm trying to achieve URLs like this in Rails: http://localhost/posts/1234/post-slug-name with both ID and slug name instead of either http://localhost/posts/1234 or http://localhost/posts/post-slug-name (right now I have just slug name in URL, so this part is over). How can I do this? UPD I found an article on this: http://augustl.heroku.com/blog/styling-rails-urls, instead of /id/slug it suggests to use /id-slug which works perfectly for me, so I'll go with this.

    I'm using the following Google Maps autload (asynchronous) to load asynchronous both Google Maps v3 and JQuery, like so: <script type="text/javascript" src="http://www.google.com/jsapi?autoload={ "modules":[ {name:"maps",version:3,other_params:"sensor=false"},{"name":"jquery","version":"1.4.2"},{"name":"jqueryui","version":"1.8.1"} ]}"></script> However, looking at the network traffic, it appears that it is not downloading asynchronously. Question: Does anyone understand why the %7Bcommon (google-maps) file is being delayed from download until the jquery-ui.min file completes download first?

    Hi, I am a newbie with VTK and C++ (but am well versed in the concepts/Java etc). I will eventually need to use both QT and VTK for my project. (1) I would like to know if there is a "development environment"/"editor" for VTK (using C++) ? (2) Something similar to VTK Designer (http://www.vcreatelogic.com/products/vtkd/) ?     When putting a favicon on your site, you can apparently use an animated gif, just by changing the gif file’s extension to .ico. http://www.k-director.com/blog/how-to-add-an-animated-faviconico/ Have you encountered any problems doing this? (Aside from users being driven mad by some stupid little blinking favicon.) Have you seen a browser get confused by a gif file with a .ico extension?

    Hi, just set up FirePHP and using a framework called Qcodo / Qcubed. Has anyone heard of these on SO? Been having challenges debugging -- trying to do a fairly simple new() and save() and then output via Ajax but not getting any kind of responsiveness from errors.
