  • Ubuntu is kde styled after install AND removal

    - by iSeth
I installed kubuntu-desktop and every thing was fine. Then later when I actually logged in to Kde, I decided that I still like Unity better so I ran sudo apt-get purge kubuntu-desktop && sudo apt-get autoremove. After that bits and pieces of my Ubuntu/Unity have been Kde styled. All browsers have Kde icons and some applications show 'About Kde' in their menus, all text fields have that 'bluesh glow' around them, etc. What is still left of Kubuntu? Note: I saw this question and this question, but both where outdated and didn't work.

  • I’m new to C++ and unsure about how to improve this code [migrated]

    - by Laian Alsabbagh
The purpose of the following code is to get a random number of 100 nodes and to distribute these nodes randomly in range 500*500 …(X,Y).. this was the first step #include<iostream> #include <fstream> #include<cmath> using namespace std; int main() { const int x = 0, y = 1; int nodes[100][2]; ofstream myfile; myfile.open ("example.txt"); myfile << "Writing this to a file.\n"; for (int i=0; i<100 ;i++) { nodes[i][x] = rand() % 501; nodes[i][y] = rand() % 501; myfile <<nodes[i][x]<<" "<<nodes[i][y]; } myfile.close(); } now the next step is to improve this code to distribute these nodes in order ( "Imust divide both xy_coordinates as : x= 0-100-200-300-400-500 & y=0-100-200-300-400-500) next is to distribute the nodes (regardless number of nodes) in order range Starting from (0,100 )….(100,100)..(100,200)…….untile i reach the last point (500,500),, ") I’m really confused of how to do it correctly I start to think to define 2 dimensional array , and then to define 2 for loops enter code here Int no_nodes=100; Int XY_coordinate [500][500]; For (int i=0;i<no_nodes; i++) { For (int j=0;j<no_nodes; j++)

  • New to Ubuntu - Windows Expert seeking advice

    - by user1481614
I'm a .NET developer (how I earn a living). I would like to learn Ubuntu. I've installed Ubuntu Desktop 12.04 on my MacAir inside a Parallels VM and it runs perfectly. I'm Pumped! Now, I'd like to find some documentation specifically for Newbs. I did a Book Search for "Ubuntu" on Amazon and didn't find much. Does anyone have any advice for me, or links to documentation specifically targeted to newbs?

  • Harping on Metadata Performance: New Benchmarks

  • 10 Things You Should Do After You Install WordPress

It's a good idea to go to your server and locate the WordPress instruction and installation file that is automatically uploaded with the WordPress software. You need to rename this file to something random and hard to guess. This is a preventative measure to deter hackers from easily finding that your site runs WordPress and trying to exploit any vulnerabilities in the software.

Thought I would let everyone know that I am moving my blog to mixtio.wordpress.com. I would like to thank geekswithblogs for allowing me to use them for blogging. My personal site has also expired. Mixtio.com  Mixtio’s Facebook pages are still around and will continue. Since my blog is more evolved around Mixtio, I wanted to consolidate some.
