If I have Class1, which has some private field, for example private Field field1, and make getField1(){return field1;} then I have some class with constructor public Class2(Field field){someMethod(field);} And then I call constructor of Class2 in Class3 like: Class2 cl = new Class2(instanceOfClass1.getField1()); And now the question: Am I working with field1 of instanceOfClass1 in "someMethod(field)"?

• aspnet_compiler -fixednames does not work?

  I am unable to get the -fixednames switch to create dlls for the cs code behind files. The files in the bin folder are compiled aspx pages, but the code behind files are all compiled into one large websitename.dll file. Here is my command with switches. aspnet_compiler -v / -p E:\Source\DotNet4\mysolution\website -f -d -fixednames E:\Source\DotNet4\CompiledWebSite This produces many files in the bin folder. website.dll and website.pdb (contains code behind) myform1.aspx.643c7876.dll (compiled aspx layout ui) I have tested this over and over to make sure I am not missing anything. The test is place a label on myform1.aspx, and in the codebehind populate the label with some text. Compile the website with the above switches and deploy the website. Make a change to the myform1 codebehind and change the label text. Compile and only deploy the myform1.aspx.643c7876.dll to the website. Result: label is still the same. Now deploy the website.dll and pdb and the label changes. Can anyone tell me how to get -fixednames to create sinle dlls for codebehind?

  I have some Firebug console function calls that I wanted to disable when Firebug wasn't enabled, e.g. console isn't defined. This works fine in IE6 and FF3, but not in Chrome: var log; if(console){ log = console.log; }else{ log = function(){ return; } } I get an "Uncaught TypeError: Illegal Invocation" in Chrome =/ I read about the issue here, where you have to apply a context, which is kind of new to me... and I can't seem to figure how to accomplish the above in all browsers...

• Git - switching between branches in the middle of work

  For various reasons (code review mostly) I need to switch from current development branch to other branches quite often. Currently, I use either 'git stash' to shelve the uncommitted changes, checkout other branch, then switch back and do 'git stash apply' However, sometimes I'd have some newly added files there, which are not tracked. Unfortunately, stashing does not affect them. In this case I'd have to add them to the index and stash. What I am looking here for is a workflow where I'd have to perform a minimal set of actions to switch the branches, preferably avoiding adding of files into the index.

• asp.net ajax toolkit combobox doesn't work in hidden div

  I have a combobox inside a hidden div which I use css display = none to make it invisible, but when I make the div visible by setting display = block, the combobox just show the input and its button and ul list all have css as display = 'none', visibility ='hidden'. I can tell it is done by combobox inbuild javascript because I tried to use javascript to set the css manually with no luck. It is a bug of combobox. Urgent help needed. I spent a week to solve this, and our team put a lot trust on the toolkit. Please help me on this, all javascript gurus, thanks. Below is the code to reproduce the bug. If I set the listview in both listview1 and listview2 with the same ID, then they will end up using the same format of listview, which is not what I want. But if I set one of the IDs to be sth like "@+id/listview2", android gave me the error: java.lang.RuntimeException: Your content must have a ListView whose id attribute is 'android.R.id.list' How do I handle this dilema?

  I'm trying to programmatically invoke an onclick event however the click is not received/handled. Am I missing something, or is security preventing the click to be executed? I have a forms application which is invisible. Basically I would like to say: DoDoubleClick(wait, x, y) This should raise two click (mousedown+mouseup) events on screen with the specified wait interval. However the click isn't received in a Flash application in Firefox (which is running at that moment). • Drawing a bitmap in a canvas after calling setBitmap doesn't work

  I'm drawing a bitmap in a canvas and i want to have the result in a new bitmap, but i still have a black screen as result. With this code i alway have a black screen, but when i remove the line canvas.setBitmap(bitmapRes) i have a result but not in a new bitmap. any ideas please ? Maybe transparency ?   I am trying to find out as to why youtube embeds works just fine on iPad, and not the embeds of any other video site.   I have some difficulties with setting up a "theme switcher" programmatically. • How to write async background workers that work on WPF flowdocument

  I'm trying to write a background worker that processes a flowdocument. I can't access the properties of flowdocument objects because of the thread verification. I tried to serialize the document and loaded it on the worker thread which actually solved the thread verfication issue. However, once the processing is complete I also need to use things like TextPointer objects. Those objects now point to a objects in the copy not the original. Can anyone suggest the best way to approach such background processing in WPF?

  Hello, I have a problem when using javascript in Firefox, here is the html: <HTML> <BODY> <TABLE align="center"> <TR><td><input type=button name=submit onclick="javascript:submitIt()" value="submit" align="center"></td></TR> <TD> <TABLE> <DIV STYLE="display:none position:relative;"> <FORM ID="formA" NAME="formA" METHOD="post" ACTION="b.html" TARGET="_blank"> <INPUT TYPE="hidden" NAME=aInput VALUE="1294457296"> </FORM> </DIV> </TABLE> </TD> </TABLE></BODY></HTML> and here's the javascript: <script language="Javascript"> function submitIt() { oForm = document.getElementById("formA"); strRequest = "<HTML><BODY>" + oForm.parentNode.innerHTML + "</BODY></HTML>"; newDoc = window.open("", "", ""); newDoc.document.write(strRequest); } Problem is when you click submit button in this html page, you'll get a new html with source: <HTML><BODY><form id="formA" name="formA" method="post" action="b.html" target="_blank"></form> <input name="aInput" value="1294457296" type="hidden"> </BODY></HTML> but it's supposed to be <HTML><BODY><form id="formA" name="formA" method="post" action="b.html" target="_blank"> <input name="aInput" value="1294457296" type="hidden"></form> </BODY></HTML> Could anyone please help please? it will be really appreciated. • How to configure tomahawk and trinidad to work together

  Hi, I am new to JSF. I want to use inputListOfValues component from Trinidad in my application which also uses Tomahawk. I have added the required jars for Trinidad and before getting inputListOfValues I tried one simple inputText to be printed on browser using Trinidad. I was not getting any configuration errors but it was not printing the corresponding text on browser. So I wonder if I can use tomahawk and trinidad together ? If yes, is there any configuration setting we need to do for this ? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Ganesh.
