  • Install compiled linux program on multiple computers

    I'm sorry if this sounds like a silly question, but when I compile something on linux using the usual "./configure, make, make install" steps, how can I install the programs on other servers without having to recompile? I am trying to avoid having to install the build tools on production servers, however I need the latest version of a particular piece of software, so using RPMs isn't an option in this case. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

    Does anyone know of a program that would allow you to control multiple IR cameras via usb (computer jack) to rs232 (camera hardware)? We have a cameraswitcher, very low key, that I can press buttons and it willswitch the view of the camera from one to the next. currently I control the cameras by sellecting the cameras via a remote control for change of angles. Does anyone know anything that could give me some ability to do manual controls via my computer?. Please Advise, thanks!

    This is my first time running a postfixadmin, so in my setup.php, I'm getting this error DEBUG INFORMATION: Invalid query: Unknown column 'create_date' in 'mailbox' I'm running it with MySQL. So if i'm right, my guess is that i need to create a column? under mailbox table on the postfix database? but how or whats the right syntax into creating a timedate column? My knowledge with mysql and postfix are very minimal btw. Thanks in advance.

    I was wondering if anyone has had any success installing Any/All of the Autodesk Suite (autocad, revit,inventor,3dsmax) and has set them up so that multiple users can log on to the domain without having issues with the applications trying to run from C:\users\usera\appdata...... I am trying to prevent the autocad initial setup using a profile (within autocad) but this didnt work either. I am using autodesk 2010. Thanks

    It has been a while that Dell netbook offered an internal HDTV tuner, and it always seem like Dell is the only one that has an internal HDTV tuner? And actually, does anyone have experience with it, since the processor is very basic, can it handle smooth HDTV on screen full size, and especially for the Dell mini 1010, it can output to HDMI, so can it drive an HDTV that is 1920 x 1080? thanks.

    *.in-addr.arpa domains: lot of requests in my OpenDNS account. I know this should be normal and it's about reverse DNS. I've been reading here and there but still I can't really get how it works and why I get so much requests (higher number than www.google.com).     Quick question: I have a situation where I need to let multiple people on different PCs log into one server 2008 machine as administrator simultaneously over remote desktop. I have the CALs for it, it's just not set up correctly. When one user tries to log in, it boots the other out. What I need is to present to them a different session, just each as logged in as admin.
