  • Paragraph with normal opacity within greyed-out div

    - by dmr
    I am greying out a web page when a user doesn't have permission to access it. In order to do that, I am placing a div with background-color white and a lowered opacity on top of the web page. I want to write some words in that div with the words having a normal opacity. As of now, the greyed out background is showing correctly. However, I can't seem to get the words to be a regular opacity. The derived styles on Firebug show the opacity on the words as normal, but it clearly isn't. What am I doing wrong? The HTML: <div class="noPermission"> <p>I'm sorry. You do not have permission to access this page.</p> </div> The CSS: div.noPermission { background-color: white; filter:alpha(opacity=50); /* IE */ opacity: 0.5; /* Safari, Opera */ -moz-opacity:0.50; /* FireFox */ z-index: 20; height: 100%; width: 100%; background-repeat:no-repeat; background-position:center; position:absolute; top: 0px; left: 0px; } div.noPermission p{ color: black; margin: 300px auto auto 50px; text-align: left; font-weight: bold; font-size: 18px; display: block; width: 250px; }

  • Does this have to be released?

    - by NextRev
    I've done a lot of research on when it's correct to release things, but it's all confusing to me. I think sometimes the Leaks program is off. Anyway... background is a UIImageView background.image = [UIImage imageNamed:@"greenbackground.png"]; Do I have to release background? I never alloced it and it's not set as a property, so I'm thinking no.

  • Changing Text colour in text field by dropdown menu - Visual Studio 2008

    - by Wayne
    Hey, i'm just doing some testing on Visual Studio 2008, what i'm trying to do is to change the text colour inside the multi-textfield which isn't working and I don't know why... Public Class Form1 Dim ColourValue As Color Private Sub Form1_Load(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load rbBlue.Checked = False rbRed.Checked = False rbGreen.Checked = False End Sub Private Sub rbRed_CheckedChanged(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles rbRed.CheckedChanged txtSpace.BackColor = Color.Red End Sub Private Sub rbBlue_CheckedChanged(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles rbBlue.CheckedChanged txtSpace.BackColor = Color.Blue End Sub Private Sub rbGreen_CheckedChanged(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles rbGreen.CheckedChanged txtSpace.BackColor = Color.Green End Sub Private Sub cbColours_SelectedValueChanged(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles cbColours.SelectedValueChanged ColourValue = cbColours.SelectedValue txtSpace.BackColor = ColourValue End Sub End Class Basically i have the radio buttons that would change the background colour of the textfield, but i just need the dropdown menu to change the text colour. Many thanks :)

  • if else on javascript with the value of a select box (pure javascript)

    - by user983248
    I'm working on a select box that have images instead of text, (on the background with css). <script type="text/javascript"> function onChange(element) { element.style.backgroundColor = "Yellow"; element.className = "on_change"; } </script> <select onchange="onChange(this);"> <option value="1" style="background: url(/one.png) no-repeat scroll 0 0 transparent; width:32px; height:32px;"></option> <option value="2" style="background: url(/two.png) no-repeat scroll 0 0 transparent; width:32px; height:32px;"></option> <option value="3" style="background: url(/three.png) no-repeat scroll 0 0 transparent; width:32px; height:32px;"></option> </select> The problem is how do I get the value of the selected option and if is 1 set one image and if it is two set another image as the background using pure javascript (no jQuery)? I know that selectedIndex is the key to my problem, but I'm clueless of how to use it or how to use it on an if else statement. The script above is just one of my trials, I actually use the script above to perform the same task. <select onchange="this.style.backgroundColor=this.options[this.selectedIndex].style.backgroundColor; this.style.color=this.options[this.selectedIndex].style.color">

  • How to adjust font size with Cufon?

    - by user77413
    I am using a condensed font in Cufon. When the page loads, my menu is too wide and wraps. Then Cufon replaces the font and it looks fine. To reduce the visual distraction, I want to set the font size smaller and then have Cufon change the font size when it displays. Currently the font size is set by the div containing the menu. Here is the CSS for the menu container: .header_menu_block { display: block; margin: 0px 0px 0px 0px; padding: 0px 0px 0px 0px; margin-top: 3px; /*margin-left: 238px; ie 6 can't handle, see margin block below*/ float: left; text-align: left; font-weight: normal; font-size: 14px; color: #FFFFFF; height: 41px; width: 991px; } The Cufon replacement code looks like this: <script type="text/javascript"> Cufon.replace('.header_menu_block_col_menu ', { color: '#ffffff', hover: {color: '#204966'} } ); </script> I've tried setting the CSS font size to 12px and then using the following Cufon code, but it does not work: <script type="text/javascript"> Cufon.replace('.header_menu_block_col_menu ', { color: '#ffffff', hover: {color: '#204966'}, font-size:'14px' } ); </script> Does anyone know how to do this?

    I want to change the background color of in-viewport elements (using overflow: scroll) So here was my first attempt: http://jsfiddle.net/2YeZG/ As you see, there is a brief flicker of the previous color before the new color is painted. Others have had similar problems. Following the HTML5 rocks instructions, I tried to introduce requestAnimationFrame to fix this problem to no avail: http://jsfiddle.net/RETbF/ What am I doing wrong here?

AvgPower avgPower = for_each(intervalPoints.begin(), intervalPoints.end(), AvgPower()); // find the color QColor color = GetColor(cp,avgPower); // create the polyline CreateSubPolyLine(intervalPoints,oss,color); intervalPoints.clear(); intervalPoints.push_back(*rfp); } } return oss.str(); } void GoogleMapControl::CreateSubPolyLine(const std::vector<RideFilePoint> &points, std::ostringstream &oss, QColor color) { oss.precision(6); QString colorstr = color.name(); oss.setf(ios::fixed,ios::floatfield); oss << "var polyline = new GPolyline(["; BOOST_FOREACH(RideFilePoint rfp, points) { if (ceil(rfp.lat) != 180 && ceil(rfp.lon) != 180) { oss << "new GLatLng(" << rfp.lat << "," << rfp.lon << ")," << endl; } } oss << "],\"" << colorstr.toStdString() << "\",4);"; oss << "GEvent.addListener(polyline, 'mouseover', function() {" << endl << "var tooltip_text = 'Avg watts:" << avgPower <<" <br> Avg Speed: <br> Color: "<< colorstr.toStdString() <<"';" << endl << "var ss={'weight':8};" << endl << "this.setStrokeStyle(ss);" << endl << "this.overlay = new MapTooltip(this,tooltip_text);" << endl << "map.addOverlay(this.overlay);" << endl << "});" << endl << "GEvent.addListener(polyline, 'mouseout', function() {" << endl << "map.removeOverlay(this.overlay);" << endl << "var ss={'weight':5};" << endl << "this.setStrokeStyle(ss);" << endl << "});" << endl; oss << "map.addOverlay (polyline);" << endl; } And I'm trying to get the avgPower from this part: AvgPower avgPower = for_each(intervalPoints.begin(), intervalPoints.end(), AvgPower()); the first part to cary over to the second part: << "var tooltip_text = 'Avg watts:" << avgPower <<" <br> Avg Speed: <br> Color: "<< colorstr.toStdString() <<"';" << endl But of course I haven't the slightest clue how to do it... anyone feeling generous today?   • Selective coloring on dynamic TextBlock content in WPF

    - by user326579
    For selective coloring of static content the following suggestion works fine : http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2435880/is-it-possible-to-seletively-color-a-wrapping-textblock-in-silverlight-wpf However my content will be generated at runtime. For ex. if the Content generated is : "A Quick Brown Fox" Then I need they string "Brown" to be in color Brown and "Fox" to be in color Red The Keyword-Color list is fixed and available to me at runtime. I have looked at the Advanced TextFormatting page on MSDN, but it is too complicated for me, also the sample in there does not compile :( I am looking at creating a custom control which can do this for me. Let me know if anyone has any idea regarding how to go about this. Thanks in advance.

  • jquery tabs changing on change?

    - by Steven
    Hello, I have two tabs each with different styles and different text. One recent posts and one recent comments the css for each are below with the ones I need to have when they are selected. So pretty much when a user selects the recent comments it will change the entire block to the second one (2). Pretty much changing width, and swapping the css for both tabs. I am currently using idtabs http://www.sunsean.com/idTabs/ My question: How can I have it change the tab css and width for both when the right tab is selected and then back again when the left tab is selected. CSS sideboxtopleft { float: left; width: 121px; height:20px; background-image: url(images/categorysplitter.gif); background-position:top right; background-repeat:no-repeat; text-align: center; padding-top: 10px; margin: 0; } sideboxtopleft2 { float: left; width: 173px; height:20px; background-image: url(images/categorysplitter.gif); background-position:top right; background-repeat:no-repeat; text-align: center; padding-top: 10px; margin: 0; } sideboxtopright { float: right; width: 173px; height: 20px; background-image:url(images/categorybg.gif); text-align: center; padding-top: 10px; margin: 0; } sideboxtopright2 { float: right; width: 121px; height: 20px; background-image:url(images/categorybg.gif); text-align: center; padding-top: 10px; margin: 0; } HTML <div id="sidebox" style="padding: 0px; width:294px;"> <div class="idTabs"> <div id="sideboxtopleft"> <a href="#post"><h3>RECENT POSTS <img src="images/arrow.gif" width="9" height="5" alt="v" border="0" /></h3></a> </div> <div id="sideboxtopright"> <a href="#comments"><h3>RECENT COMMENTS <img src="images/arrow2.gif" width="6" height="9" alt=">" border="0" /></h3></a> </div> </div> <div style="padding: 10px;"> <div id="post"> SUP? </div> <div id="comments"> SUP?>>!?>!! </div> </div> </div> <div id="sidebox" style="padding: 0px; width:294px;"> <div class="idTabs"> <div id="sideboxtopleft2"> <a href="#post2"><h3>RECENT COMMENTS <img src="images/arrow.gif" width="9" height="5" alt="v" border="0" /></h3></a> </div> <div id="sideboxtopright2"> <a href="#comments2"><h3>RECENT POSTS <img src="images/arrow2.gif" width="6" height="9" alt=">" border="0" /></h3></a> </div> </div> <div style="padding: 10px;"> <div id="post2"> SUP? </div> <div id="comments2"> SUP?>>!?>!! </div> </div> </div>

  • Internet explorer and floats: please explain

    - by cletus
    Yesterday someone asked Width absorbing HTML elements. I presented two solutions: one table-based and one pure CSS. Now the pure CSS one works well in Firefox and Chrome but not in IE. Basically the floats are being bumped down to the next line. It is my understanding (and the behaviour of FF and Chrome) that this should not be the case because the left divs are block level elements that floats should basically ignore. Complete code example is below. Adding a DOCTYPE to force IE into standards compliant mode helps slightly but the problem remains. So my question is: am I mistaken about my understanding of floats or is this IE's problem? More importantly, how do I get this to work in IE?
