  • Mamimum page fetch with maximum bandwith

    - by Ehsan
    Hi I want to create an application like a spider I've implement fetching page as the following code in multi-thread application but there is two problem 1) I want to use my maximum bandwidth to send/receive request, how should I config my request to do so (Like Download Accelerator application and the like) cause I heard the normal application will use 66% of the available bandwidth. 2) I don't know what exactly HttpWebRequest.KeepAlive do, but as its name implies I think i can create a connection to a website and without closing the connection sending another request to that web site using existing connection. does it boost performance or Im wrong public PageFetchResult Fetch() { PageFetchResult fetchResult = new PageFetchResult(); try { HttpWebRequest req = (HttpWebRequest)HttpWebRequest.Create(URLAddress); HttpWebResponse resp = (HttpWebResponse)req.GetResponse(); Uri requestedURI = new Uri(URLAddress); Uri responseURI = resp.ResponseUri; if (Uri.Equals(requestedURI, responseURI)) { string resultHTML = ""; byte[] reqHTML = ResponseAsBytes(resp); if (!string.IsNullOrEmpty(FetchingEncoding)) resultHTML = Encoding.GetEncoding(FetchingEncoding).GetString(reqHTML); else if (!string.IsNullOrEmpty(resp.CharacterSet)) resultHTML = Encoding.GetEncoding(resp.CharacterSet).GetString(reqHTML); req.Abort(); resp.Close(); fetchResult.IsOK = true; fetchResult.ResultHTML = resultHTML; } else { URLAddress = responseURI.AbsoluteUri; relayPageCount++; if (relayPageCount > 5) { fetchResult.IsOK = false; fetchResult.ErrorMessage = "Maximum page redirection occured."; relayPageCount = 0; return fetchResult; } req.Abort(); resp.Close(); return Fetch(); } } catch (Exception ex) { fetchResult.IsOK = false; fetchResult.ErrorMessage = ex.Message; } return fetchResult; }

  • Saving NSString to file

    I am having trouble saving simple website data to file. I believe the sintax is correct, could someone help me? When I run it, it shows that it gets the data, but when i quit and open up the file that it is supposed to save to, nothing is in it. - (BOOL)textFieldShouldReturn:(UITextField *)nextField { [timer invalidate]; startButton.hidden = NO; startButton.enabled = YES; stopButton.enabled = NO; stopButton.hidden = YES; stopLabel.hidden = YES; label.hidden = NO; label.text = @"Press to Activate"; [nextField resignFirstResponder]; NSString *urlString = textField.text; NSData *dataNew = [NSData dataWithContentsOfURL:[NSURL URLWithString:urlString]]; NSUInteger len = [dataNew length]; NSString *stringCompare = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"%i", len]; NSLog(@"%@", stringCompare); NSString *filePath = [[NSBundle mainBundle] pathForResource:@"websiteone" ofType:@"txt"]; if (filePath) { [stringCompare writeToFile:filePath atomically:YES encoding:NSUTF8StringEncoding error:NULL]; NSString *myText = [NSString stringWithContentsOfFile:filePath encoding:NSUTF8StringEncoding error:NULL]; NSLog(@"Saving... %@", myText); } else { NSLog(@"cant find the file"); } return YES; }

  • build an API service in Django

    - by Peter
    Hi all, I want to build an API service using Django. A basic workflow goes like this: First, an http request goes to http://mycompany.com/create.py?id=001&callback=http://callback.com. It will create a folder on the server with name 001. Second, if the folder does not exist, it will be created. You get response immediately in XML format. It will look like: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <response> <status> <statusCode>0</statusCode> <message>Success</message> </status> <group id="001"/> </response> Finally, the server will do its job (i.e. creating the folder). After it is done, the server does a callback to the URL provided. Currently, I use return render_to_response('create.xml', {'statusCode': statusCode, 'statusMessage': statusMessage, 'groupId': groupId, }, mimetype = 'text/xml') to send the XML response back. I have an XML template which has statusCode, statusMessage, groupId placeholders. <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <response> <status> <statusCode>{{ statusCode }}</statusCode> <message>{{ statusMessage }}</message> </status> {% if not statusCode %} <group id="{{ groupId }}"/> {% endif %} </response> But in this way I have to put step 3 before step 2, because otherwise step 3 will not be executed if it is after return statement. Can somebody give me some suggestions how to do this? Thanks.

  • looping problem while appending data to existing text file

    - by Manu
    try { stmt = conn.createStatement(); stmt1 = conn.createStatement(); stmt2 = conn.createStatement(); rs = stmt.executeQuery("select cust from trip1"); rs1 = stmt1.executeQuery("select cust from trip2"); rs2 = stmt2.executeQuery("select cust from trip3"); File f = new File(strFileGenLoc); OutputStream os = (OutputStream)new FileOutputStream(f,true); String encoding = "UTF8"; OutputStreamWriter osw = new OutputStreamWriter(os, encoding); BufferedWriter bw = new BufferedWriter(osw); } while ( rs.next() ) { while(rs1.next()){ while(rs2.next()){ bw.write(rs.getString(1)==null? "":rs.getString(1)); bw.write("\t"); bw.write(rs1.getString(1)==null? "":rs1.getString(1)); bw.write("\t"); bw.write(rs2.getString(1)==null? "":rs2.getString(1)); bw.write("\t"); bw.newLine(); } } } Above code working fine. My problem is 1. "rs" resultset contains one record in the table 2. "rs1" resultset contains 5 record in the table 3. "rs2" resultset contains 5 record in the table "rs" data is getting recursive. while writing to the same text file , the output i am getting like 1 2 3 1 12 21 1 23 25 1 10 5 1 8 54 but i need output like below 1 2 3 12 21 23 25 10 5 8 54 What things i need to change in my code..   • What is an elegant way to set up a leiningen project that requires different dependencies based on the build platform?

    - by Savanni D'Gerinel
    In order to do some multi-platform GUI development, I have just switched from GTK + Clojure (because it looks like the Java bindings for GTK never got ported to Windows) to SWT + Clojure. So far, so good in that I have gotten an uberjar built for Linux. The catch, though, is that I want to build an uberjar for Windows and I am trying to figure out a clean way to manage the project.clj file. At first, I thought I would set the classpath to point to the SWT libraries and then build the uberjar. This would require that I set a classpath to the SWT libraries before running the jar, but I would likely need a launcher script, anyway. However, leiningen seems to ignore the classpath in this instance because it always reports that Currently, project.clj looks like this for me: (defproject alyra.mana-punk/character "1.0.0-SNAPSHOT" :description "FIXME: write" :dependencies [[org.clojure/clojure "1.2.0"] [org.clojure/clojure-contrib "1.2.0"] [org.eclipse/swt-gtk-linux-x86 "3.5.2"]] :main alyra.mana-punk.character.core) The relevant line is the org.eclipse/swt-gtk-linux-x86 line. If I want to make an uberjar for Windows, I have to depend on org.eclipse/swt-win32-win32-x86, and another one for x86-64, and so on and so forth. My current solution is to simply create a separate branch for each build environment with a different project.clj. This seems kinda like using a semi to deliver a single gallon of milk, but I am using bazaar for version control, so branching and repeated integrations are easy. Maybe the better way is to have a project.linux.clj, project.win32.clj, etc, but I do not see any way to tell leiningen which project descriptor to use. What are other (preferably more elegant) ways to set up such an environment?

  • How to decrypt a string encrypted with HMACSHA1?

    I'm an encryption novice trying to pass some values back and forth between systems. I can encrypt the value, but can't seem to figure out how to decrypt on the other end. I've created a simple Windows Forms application using VB.NET. Trying to input a value and a key, encrypt and then decrypt to get the original value. Here's my code so far. Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks. I send all data as POST request with following code NSURL* url = [NSURL URLWithString:[NSString stringWithFormat:@"%@%@", url, @"/signUp"]]; NSString *post = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"&email=%@&userName=%@&password=%@", user.email, user.userName, user.password]; NSData *postData = [post dataUsingEncoding:NSASCIIStringEncoding allowLossyConversion:NO]; NSData* data = [self sendRequest:url postData:postData]; post variable before encoding has value &[email protected]&userName=Asdfasdfadsfadsf&password=sdfasdf after encoding it is same &[email protected]&userName=Asdfasdfadsfadsf&password=sdfasdf Method I use to send request looks like following code: -(id) sendRequest:(NSURL*) url postData:(NSData*)postData { // Create request NSMutableURLRequest *request = [[NSMutableURLRequest alloc] init]; NSString *postLength = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"%d",[postData length]]; [request setURL:url]; [request setHTTPMethod:@"POST"]; [request setValue:@"application/x-www-form-urlencoded" forHTTPHeaderField:@"Current-Type"]; [request setValue:postLength forHTTPHeaderField:@"Content-Length"]; [request setHTTPBody:postData]; NSURLResponse *urlResponse; NSData *data = [NSURLConnection sendSynchronousRequest:request returningResponse:&urlResponse error:nil]; [request release]; return data; }

  • How to process XML sernt via POST?

    - by John Conde
    I'm receiving XML sent via POST. Naturally I need to parse this XML to get at the goodies it holds for me. However, when I receive the XML is seems that PHP is parsing it like a query string. For example, this xml: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <ForgotPassword> <version>1.0</version> <authentication> <login>myresllerid</login> <apikey>1234567890abcdef</apikey> </authentication> <parameters> <emailAddress>[email protected]</emailAddress> </parameters> </ForgotPassword> Becomes this (from print_r($_REQUEST)): Array ( [ <?xml_version] => "1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <IDCForgotPassword> <version>1.0</version> <authentication> <login>myresllerid</login> <apikey>1234567890abcdef</apikey> </authentication> <parameters> <emailAddress>[email protected]</emailAddress> </parameters> </IDCForgotPassword> ) You can see the XML is being broken up at the first equals sign (=) in the XML into a key/value pair. How do I avoid this?

  • Writing csv file in asp.net

    - by Keith
    Hello, I'm trying to export data to a csv file, as there are chinese characters in the data i had to use unicode.. but after adding the preamble for unicode, the commas are not recognized as delimiters and all data are now written to the first column. I'm not sure what is wrong. Below is my code which i wrote in a .ashx file. DataView priceQuery = (DataView)context.Session["priceQuery"]; String fundName = priceQuery.Table.Rows[0][0].ToString().Trim().Replace(' ', '_'); context.Response.Clear(); context.Response.ClearContent(); context.Response.ClearHeaders(); context.Response.ContentType = "text/csv"; context.Response.ContentEncoding = System.Text.Encoding.Unicode; context.Response.AddHeader("Content-Disposition", "attachment; filename=" + fundName + ".csv"); context.Response.BinaryWrite(System.Text.Encoding.Unicode.GetPreamble()); String output = fundName + "\n"; output += "Price, Date" + "\n"; foreach (DataRow row in priceQuery.Table.Rows) { string price = row[2].ToString(); string date = ((DateTime)row[1]).ToString("dd-MMM-yy"); output += price + "," + date + "\n"; } context.Response.Write(output);

  • PyGTK: Trouble with size of ScrolledWindow

    - by canavanin
    Hi everyone! I am using PyGTK and the gtk.Assistant. On one page I have placed a treeview (one column, just strings) in a gtk.ScrolledWindow (I wanted the vertical scrollbar, since the list contains about 35 items). Everything is working fine; the only thing that bugs me is that I have not been able to figure out from the documentation how to set the size of the scrolled window. Currently only three items are displayed at a time; I would like to set this number to 10 or so. Below is the code. As you can see I have tried using a gtk.Adjustment to influence the scrolled window's size, but as - once more - I have been incompetent at retrieving the required info from the documentation, I don't actually know what values should be put into there. self.page7 = gtk.VBox() # The gtk.Adjustment: page_size = gtk.Adjustment(lower=10, page_size=100) # just used some arbitrary numbers here >_< scrolled_win = gtk.ScrolledWindow(page_size) scrolled_win.set_policy(gtk.POLICY_AUTOMATIC, gtk.POLICY_AUTOMATIC) # only display scroll bars when required self.character_traits_treeview = gtk.TreeView() self.character_traits_treestore = gtk.TreeStore(str) self.character_traits_treeview.set_model(self.character_traits_treestore) tc = gtk.TreeViewColumn("Character traits") self.character_traits_treeview.append_column(tc) cr = gtk.CellRendererText() tc.pack_start(cr, True) tc.add_attribute(cr, "text", 0) self.character_trait_selection = self.character_traits_treeview.get_selection() self.character_trait_selection.connect('changed', self.check_number_of_character_trait_selections) self.character_trait_selection.set_mode(gtk.SELECTION_MULTIPLE) self.make_character_traits_treestore() # adding the treeview to the scrolled window: scrolled_win.add(self.character_traits_treeview) self.page7.pack_start(scrolled_win, False, False, 0) self.assistant.append_page(self.page7) self.assistant.set_page_title(self.page7, "Step 7: Select 2-3 character traits") self.assistant.set_page_type(self.page7, gtk.ASSISTANT_PAGE_CONTENT) self.assistant.set_page_complete(self.page7, False) def check_number_of_character_trait_selections(self, blah): # ... def make_character_traits_treestore(self): # ... I know I should RTFM, but as I can't make head or tail of it, and as further searching, too, has been to no avail, I'm just hoping that someone on here can give me a hint. Thanks a lot in advance! PS: Here are the links to: the gtk.ScrolledWindow documentation the gtk.Adjustment documentation

  • Permission issue when webservice deployed as virtual directory.Works in VS IDE

    - by Shyju
    I have an ASP.NET web service which will create a text file in a path which is being passed as a parameter to the method. private void CreateFile(string path) { string strFileName = path; StreamWriter sw = new StreamWriter(strFileName, true); sw.WriteLine(""); sw.Write("Created at " + DateTime.Now.ToString()); sw.Close(); } Now I am passing a folder in the network as the parameter and calling the method CreateFile(@"\\192.168.0.40\\labels\\test.txt"); When running the code from the Visual studio IDE,the file is getting created in the path.But when i published this and deployed as a virtual directoty,Its throwing me some error like "System.UnauthorizedAccessException: Access to the path '\\192.168.0.40\labels\test.txt' is denied. at System.IO.__Error.WinIOError(Int32 errorCode, String maybeFullPath) at System.IO.FileStream.Init(String path, FileMode mode, FileAccess access, Int32 rights, Boolean useRights, FileShare share, Int32 bufferSize, FileOptions options, SECURITY_ATTRIBUTES secAttrs, String msgPath, Boolean bFromProxy) at System.IO.FileStream..ctor(String path, FileMode mode, FileAccess access, FileShare share, Int32 bufferSize, FileOptions options) at System.IO.StreamWriter.CreateFile(String path, Boolean append) at System.IO.StreamWriter..ctor(String path, Boolean append, Encoding encoding, Int32 bufferSize) at System.IO.StreamWriter..ctor(String path, Boolean append) I have in my web.config.My machine is running in XP and the other is in Windows Server 2003 Any idea to solve this ?? • How to read time from recorded surveillance camera video?

    - by stressed_geek
    I have a problem where I have to read the time of recording from the video recorded by a surveillance camera. The time shows up on the top-left area of the video. Below is a link to screen grab of the area which shows the time. Also, the digit color(white/black) keeps changing during the duration of the video. http://i55.tinypic.com/2j5gca8.png Please guide me in the direction to approach this problem. I am a Java programmer so would prefer an approach through Java. EDIT: Thanks unhillbilly for the comment. I had looked at the Ron Cemer OCR library and its performance is much below our requirement. Since the ocr performance is less than desired, I was planning to build a character set using the screen grabs for all the digits, and using some image/pixel comparison library to compare the frame time with the character-set which will show a probabilistic result after comparison. So I was looking for a good image comparison library(I would be OK with a non-java library which I can run using the command-line). Also any advice on the above approach would be really helpful.

  • How should I define a JavaScript 'namespace' to satisfy JSLint?

    - by Matthew Murdoch
    I want to be able to package my JavaScript code into a 'namespace' to prevent name clashes with other libraries. Since the declaration of a namespace should be a simple piece of code I don't want to depend on any external libraries to provide me with this functionality. I've found various pieces of advice on how to do this simply but none seem to be free of errors when run through JSLint (using 'The Good Parts' options). As an example, I tried this from Advanced JavaScript (section Namespaces without YUI): "use strict"; if (typeof(MyNamespace) === 'undefined') { MyNamespace = {}; } Running this through JSLint gives the following errors: Problem at line 2 character 12: 'MyNamespace' is not defined. Problem at line 3 character 5: 'MyNamespace' is not defined. Implied global: MyNamespace 2,3 The 'Implied global' error can be fixed by explicitly declaring MyNamespace... "use strict"; if (typeof(MyNamespace) === 'undefined') { var MyNamespace = {}; } ...and the other two errors can be fixed by declaring the variable outside the if block. "use strict"; var MyNamespace; if (typeof(MyNamespace) === 'undefined') { MyNamespace = {}; } So that works, but it seems to me that (since MyNamespace will always be undefined at the point it is checked?) it is equivalent to the much simpler: "use strict"; var MyNamespace = {}; JSLint is content with this but I'm concerned that I've simplified the code to such an extent that it will no longer function correctly as a namespace. Is this final formulation sensible?

  • 2D platformer gravity physics with slow-motion

    - by DD
    Hi all, I fine tuned my 2d platformer physics and when I added slow-motion I realized that it is messed up. The problem I have is that for some reason the physics still depends on framerate. So when I scale down time elapsed, every force is scaled down as well. So the jump force is scaled down, meaning in slow-motion, character jumps vertically smaller height and gravity force is scaled down as well so the character goes further in the air without falling. I'm sending update function in hopes that someone can help me out here (I separated vertical (jump, gravity) and walking (arbitrary walking direction on a platform - platforms can be of any angle) vectors): characterUpdate:(float)dt { //Compute walking velocity walkingAcceleration = direction of platform * walking acceleration constant * dt; initialWalkingVelocity = walkingVelocity; if( isWalking ) { if( !isJumping ) walkingVelocity = walkingVelocity + walkingAcceleration; else walkingVelocity = walkingVelocity + Vector( walking acceleration constant * dt, 0 ); } // Compute jump/fall velocity if( !isOnPlatform ) { initialVerticalVelocity = verticalVelocity; verticalVelocity = verticalVelocity + verticalAcceleration * dt; } // Add walking velocity position = position + ( walkingVelocity + initialWalkingVelocity ) * 0.5 * dt; //Add jump/fall velocity if not on a platform if( !isOnPlatform ) position = position + ( verticalVelocity + initialVerticalVelocity ) * 0.5 * dt; verticalAcceleration.y = Gravity * dt; }

I was recently playing with a routine to carry out character replacement on a character array which required a lookup table i.e. transliteration: for (int i = 0; i < chars.Length; i++) { char replaceChar; if (lookup.TryGetValue(chars[i], out replaceChar)) { chars[i] = replaceChar; } } I could see that this could be trivially parallelized, so jumped in with a first stab which I knew would perform worse as the tasks were too fine-grained: Parallel.For(0, chars.Length, i => { char replaceChar; if (lookup.TryGetValue(chars[i], out replaceChar)) { chars[i] = replaceChar; } }); I then reworked the algorithm to use batching so that the work could be chunked onto different threads in less fine-grained batches. This made use of threads as expected and I got some near linear speed up. I'm sure that there must be built-in support for batching in the TPL. What is the syntax, and how do I use it? const int CharBatch = 100; int charLen = chars.Length; Parallel.For(0, ((charLen / CharBatch) + 1), i => { int batchUpper = ((i + 1) * CharBatch); for (int j = i * CharBatch; j < batchUpper && j < charLen; j++) { char replaceChar; if (lookup.TryGetValue(chars[j], out replaceChar)) { chars[j] = replaceChar; } } });

  • Am I going the right way to make login system secure with this simple password salting?

    - by LoVeSmItH
    I have two fields in login table password salt And I have this little function to generate salt function random_salt($h_algo="sha512"){ $salt1=uniqid(rand(),TRUE); $salt2=date("YmdHis").microtime(true); if(function_exists('dechex')){ $salt2=dechex($salt2); } $salt3=$_SERVER['REMOTE_ADDR']; $salt=$salt1.$salt2.$salt3; if(function_exists('hash')){ $hash=(in_array($h_algo,hash_algos()))?$h_algo:"sha512"; $randomsalt=hash($hash,md5($salt)); //returns 128 character long hash if sha512 algorithm is used. }else{ $randomsalt=sha1(md5($salt)); //returns 40 characters long hash } return $randomsalt; } Now to create user password I have following $userinput=$_POST["password"] //don't bother about escaping, i have done it in my real project. $static_salt="THIS-3434-95456-IS-RANDOM-27883478274-SALT"; //some static hard to predict secret salt. $salt=random_salt(); //generates 128 character long hash. $password =sha1($salt.$userinput.$static_salt); $salt is saved in salt field of database and $password is saved in password field. My problem, In function random_salt(), I m having this FEELING that I'm just making things complicated while this may not generate secure salt as it should. Can someone throw me a light whether I m going in a right direction? P.S. I do have an idea about crypt functions and like such. Just want to know is my code okay? Thanks.

  • How do you use FastInfoset with JAXWS?

    - by Chris Kessel
    I've got code that looks like it should be correct based on what I can find, but the spewed output doesn't indicate that it's using FastInfoset. My understanding is the Accept should indicate it can accept Fastinfoset and the response would actually use it, meaning it's not text/xml as the response type. Any idea what I'm doing wrong? I've scoured with Google and I'm having a hard time finding much detail on how to use FastInfoset at all. JaxWsProxyFactoryBean factory = new JaxWsProxyFactoryBean(); factory.getInInterceptors().add(new LoggingInInterceptor()); factory.getOutInterceptors().add(new LoggingOutInterceptor()); factory.setServiceClass( C360Server.class); factory.setAddress("http://localhost:8501/cxfcontroller/cl_v5"); C360Server client = (C360Server)factory.create(); ((BindingProvider)client).getRequestContext().put( "com.sun.xml.ws.client.ContentNegotiation", "optimistic"); C360Request requestTrans = new C360Request(); ... code to fill in the request ... C360Response response = client.findContacts( requestTrans ); The logging doesn't seem to indicate FastInfoset is even attempted though: INFO: Outbound Message --------------------------- ID: 1 Address: http://localhost:8501/cxfcontroller/cl_v5 Encoding: UTF-8 Content-Type: text/xml Headers: {SOAPAction=[""], Authorization=[Basic cWFfc3VwZXI6cWFfc3VwZXI=], Accept=[*/*]} Payload: <soap:Envelope xmlns:soap="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/"><soap:Body><ns1:findContacts>...bunch of xml deleted for brevity...</ns1:findContacts></soap:Body></soap:Envelope> -------------------------------------- May 17, 2010 3:23:45 PM org.apache.cxf.interceptor.LoggingInInterceptor logging INFO: Inbound Message ---------------------------- ID: 1 Response-Code: 200 Encoding: UTF-8 Content-Type: text/xml; charset=utf-8 Headers: {content-type=[text/xml; charset=utf-8], Content-Length=[611], Server=[Jetty(6.1.x)]} Payload: <soap:Envelope xmlns:soap="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/"><soap:Body><ns1:findContactsResponse>...bunch of xml spew deleted for brevity...</ns1:findContactsResponse></soap:Body></soap:Envelope> -------------------------------------- Any ideas what I'm doing wrong? Even if the server wasn't supporting FastInfoset, I still should see the attempted negotiation in the request, right?

  • How to improve efficiency in loops?

    - by Jacob Worldly
    I have the following code, which translates the input string into morse code. My code runs through every letter in the string and then through every character in the alphabet. This is very inefficient, because what if I was reading from a very large file, instead of a small alphabet string. Is there any way that I could improve my code, Maybe using the module re, to match my string with the morse code characters? morse_alphabet = ".- -... -.-. -.. . ..-. --. .... .. .--- -.- .-.. -- -. --- .--. --.- .-. ... - ..- ...- .-- -..- -.-- --.." ALPHABET = "abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz" morse_letters = morse_alphabet.split(" ") result = [] count_character = 0 def t(code): for character in code: count_letter = 0 for letter in ALPHABET: lower_character = code[count_character].lower() lower_letter = letter.lower() if lower_character == lower_letter: result.append(morse_letters[count_letter]) count_letter += 1 count_character += 1 return result
