How Much Cost me a professional solution (hardware) for streaming min 8 Audio channels to 100 users (listeners)? If you know, Please give me some advice for the best solution...
I have an application that uses OpenGL for its display. When this application is run on a laptop with an Intel GMA 4500MHD on Windows XP the OpenGL content appears to flicker/shudder between 2 frames.
I have experienced the exact same problem when running this application on nVidia Quadro FX hardware, however with nVidia the problem can be corrected by disabling the "Unified Back Buffer" (UBB) feature in the driver.
Does anybody know how I can disable the corresponding feature in the Intel driver?
I read somewhere that the ultimate boot cd can diagnos computer problems in this case would this program help me get my windows xp back? When I turn on the screen and hit start windows normal or go to safe mode I get a flash of the win xp logo and then it goes to this error page. Can you tell from this message is it a hardware or software issue
If I want to move a xen guet (domU) from one host (dom0) to another host on another hardware platform which misses some capabilities, say virtualisation features, especially directio or likewise, will my image be able to run despite missing capabilities of the new host?
This is important because I need to know if I can prepare XEN images on my workstation with full virtualisation features and deploy same images on less capable Servers later on.
Thanks for the help and input
As soon as I logon to Windows 7 64bit, the computer restarts.
It isn't a hardware issue, as linux works fine.
Windows 7 64 bit.
Safe mode, last known good configuration etc, nothing makes any difference. Nor does startup repair or sfc.
I used DaRT to check the event log, and nothing is recorded.
How can I troubleshoot this?
I was using my EEE PC 1000H running Windows XP and out of the blue, the keyboard stopped working - pressing keys does absolutely nothing. It does not appear to be a hardware issue, as I am able to enter BIOS configuration with no issues.
I've tried:
'Safe mode'
'Last known good configuration'
Reinstalling the generic keyboard driver
Removing all power sources and holding down the power button, as suggested by popular forums.
What could the problem be, and what could I try?
We are building a farm of test servers. Currently we have 8 servers. We are planning to use the servers to test the following
Mysql Cluster
Xen or KVM virtualization
Heartbeat/Pacemaker/DRDB
What tools do experienced sysads use for:
Initial installation of operating system( installing centos 5 or ubuntu server manually 8 times seems like a tedious task that just begs for automation)
Centralized Configuration Management and Software Updates for Host and possibly Guest(virtualized) servers
Hardware, Services and Network Monitoring
Thinking of using a wine bottle with a cork that barely sticks out.
Anyhow, I want to put in a GPS, a battery and a transmitter and to be able to collect position about every minute or so.
Off-the-shelf components are preferred. What are my options as far as hardware and software choices?
Thank you in advance!
Warning ... novice Linux user problem right here ...
my modem is Actiotec MDC AC'97 Modem v2132D, how can i be sure that it's a software or a hardware one??, also how can i be sure that it's working on my OS??, or my OS can recognize it or not??,
I'm using Linux Debian 5.0, with KDE

Hello Guys,
Can I restore and Windows Server 2008 built in image backup from one server to a different hardware? Is that possible?
I have a PowerEdge T710 and I want to restore to T300.
How do I check to see if port forward is enabled with one of my dynamic tunnels on this device? I'm having trouble using a feature in our software that requires a vpn to be used. My firewalls shows it as connected but I'm unable to ping the subnet ip. Our software vendor told me that port forwarding might be causing this problem, but I didn't set up this network I'm on and I don't fully know symantec hardware.
I hear that Windows 8 Pro can use full disk encryption. I also understand that Win8 is targeting the "slate" / "tablet" form factor specifically. But all my previous experience with BitLocker requires you to put in some kind of PIN or password at boot time -- how can I do this without a (hardware) keyboard?
This preview of an upcoming Win8 tablet mentions BitLocker but doesn't address the PIN issue. Am I missing something?
Working on a new project, and need some documentation advice. I need to be able to document ~ 400 client sites to track assets, setup, hardware layout, network layout, etc. We want to have photos, maps, etc. wherever possible. We need this for a call center environment.
Has anyone found any off the shelf software that performs this functionality, or are we on our own to develop the tools that we require?
I don't keep up with hardware much, so would appreciate any tips on what would be a good touch-enabled laptop that I could use for both development and testing of Windows 8 ("Metro"/Store) apps.
Is there even such an animal (a touch-centric laptop)? Or will I need to use a laptop for development (in which case I might be able to upgrade my RC version of Windows 8 on my existing laptop to RTM) and purchase a tablet for testing?

Is it possible to install Mac OS X on customized hardware?
Well, I don't think its possible - but I'm curious why not - but can someone install Mac OS's on Intel machines? For along time the architecture was different RISC vs x86, but then later they moved to x86, so how difficult is it to install Snow Leopard on a regular Wintel laptop / desktop?
The Safely Remove Hardware icon in Windows 7 offers the ability to eject my SATA drives, including the boot drive. I don't see myself ever needing this - especially not from the convenience of the tray icon. Is there perhaps a common BIOS setting to disable hot-swappability?
I am having a really nasty problem with VirtualBox as everytime I try to install any guest OS(using ISO file as CD for installation media), the installation starts normally but as soon as it is about to start either installing to virtual hard drive or loading(e.g. as LiveFS) it causes the host system to reboot abruptly. Config is as below:
Host system: Ubuntu 12.10 64bit - Intel® Core i7-2640M CPU @ 2.80GHz × 4
Virtualbox version: 4.1.18_Ubuntu r78361
Guest OS systems tried: 32bit version of FreeBSD 9, Debian 6, Tails 0.14
VM setup
Tried to have the minimal setup necessary just in case it would avoid for each system to make sure I'd avoid conflicts, but to no avail. I've tried different values and combinations of the below but the problem still persists:
Shared Clipboard: Disabled
Show in fullscreen/seamless: Disabled
Remember runtime changes: DIsabled
Base Memory: 2048 MB
Chipset: PIIX3
IO APIC: Disabled
EFI: Disabled
Absolute Pointing device: Disabled
Processor(s): 1 CPU
PAE/NX: Disabled
VT-x/AMD-V: Disabled
Video Memory: 12 MB
3d/2d acceleration: Disabled
Storage IDE COntroller: PIIX3 (same as chipset instead of PIIX4)
Use host I/O cache: No
Audio: disabled
Network adapter: NAT
USB controller: disabled
No shared folder
Also another sideeffect of the reboot is that it appears that it does not log any information in the error log files; not making things any easier.
Please help.
I rented some server space from a new host and have a static IP address and a domain name that I previously purchased, but I do not know how to register the domain name to point to my server.
My previous host did this for me, but my new host only offers hardware, i.e. they won't do it for me.
How can I register a domain name I own to point to my server's IP address?
I am not a hardware guy. I just heard this from a service engineer
Memory cards of unequal capacities should not be used. that is if there is a 1 GM already in the slot, we need to add another 1 GB card only. Not 512 MB or 2 GB.
Is there a problem if we use memory cards which are not equal capacities?
I have a Thinkpad X61T 7763 tablet and I was planning to buy a 64GB card for the SD card slot. The 64GB card supports the new SDXC standard and I'm not sure if the SD card driver / hardware can handle that. So far, I've successfully used 8GB cards in the slot, but they were SDHC ones. Thinkpad manuals don't give the answer. I wonder if anyone tried this configuration already and what was the outcome.
I have a linux webhosting server which affects a high DDOS.
I want to use Cisco ASA 5500 Series Adaptive Security Appliances to protect the linux server from this DDOS. I know there are many factors should you know before you choose the suitable hardware firewall like the amount of this DDOS and pps ..etc
Please suggest a linux tools to measure those factors and to help me collect the required informations ( pps - amount of DDOS - concurrent connections and other factors )

I have recently got an intel ultrabook, but its screen size is 13.3' and the native resolution is 1600X900.So the problem is that the letters that appear on screen are very small.Reducing resolution blurs the display and making everything bigger also doesn't feel very good.is there a way to get around this problem without changing hardware.
I am even ok with this high resolution but I am concerned about the harmful effects it might have on my eyes in long term.
Any advice will be very useful. Please help
Since the price of many dedicated hardware Digital Media Extenders is only slightly lower than that of a cheap laptop, is there any reason you couldn't use a laptop as a Digital Media Extender?
I'm looking for specific reasons that might make this unworkable. For instance, would the small screen/low-power video card of the laptop prevent the movie from playing well on the TV?
