• Best Approach to process images in Django

  I've have an application with Android front end and Django as the back end. As part of the answers here, I'm confused over the approach which I should take to send images to Django Server. I've 2 options at my disposal as Piro pointed out there. 1) Sending images as Multi Part entity 2) Send image as a String after encoding it using Base 64. So I am considering the approach that would make it easy to be processed by Django. The images are small in size (<200kb) and number (<10). Any suggestions or pointers are most welcome.

• Twitter oauth_callback parameter being ignored!

  Hi guys, I'm trying to get Twitter authentication working on my ASP.NET site. When you create the app on the Twitter website, you have to specify a callback URL, which for sake of argument, I have set to http://mydomain.com I've read the oAuth 1.0a spec, and to override this callback URL with your own custom one you have to send the oauth_callback parameter in the request_token phase (url-encoded of course). So my request URL looks like this: http://twitter.com/oauth/request_token?oauth_callback_url=http%3A%2F%2Fmydomain.com%2Ftwittercallback Supposedly, if all goes to plan, in your response data, you are supposed to receive a new parameter of oauth_callback_confirmed=true in addition to your token and token secret parameters. However, my response comes through as: oauth_token=MYTOKEN&oauth_token_secret=MYTOKENSECRET I know I haven't given you guys the greatest amount to go on, but I'm at my wits end as to why I am not receiving the oauth_callback_confirmed parameter. Without this, my application keeps defaulting back to the callback URL hard-coded on the Twitter website. Please if anyone could help me out, I will be eternally grateful! Thanks, A.

  I have a mixed mode C++-CLI program in Visual Studio 2005 that is set to use the /SUBSYSTEM:Windows. Generally speaking it is a graphical application that is launched from its shortcut or through the filetype registered to it. However, there is a rare occasion where a user will want to run it from the command line with arguments. I can access the arguments just fine, its when it comes to writing to the console, in response to the program being launched from the command line with arguments, where I don't see Console::WriteLine having any effect. What am I doing wrong?

• Weird mapping error in linq-to-sql dbml file in VS2010

  Since I switched to VS2010, several times a day I get a compilation error in my dbml file: DBML1005: Mapping between DbType 'bigint' and Type 'MyNamespace.SecurityToken' in Column 'SecurityToken' of Type 'Employee' is not supported When I restart VS2010 the error disappears. I have no problems running my application using this dbml file (specifically, there are no problems getting correct values inside the SecurityToken property of Employee objects). The SecurityToken property is of an enum type defined as follows: [Flags] public enum SecurityToken : long { None = 1, Admin = 2, ...... } The SecurityToken column in the database is of type bigint. Am I missing something? It's especially weird that the error only happens sometimes, when I'm writing code that isn't related at all to the LINQ model.

• Unable to get the DspStatus Field in the Task document properties.

  Hi, I am using Interop.Domino.dll API to read the NSF file and able to read the properties of the Task Document. When i view the Task Document properties in the Lotus Notes, i am able to view the Status Field, Importance Field and few others, but when i programatically dump all the Field Names and their values i am unable to get few of them as mentioned above. So, how to get all the Field Names and their values as i iterate through all the document properties. Is this the problem of IBM Lotus Notes Application or the Domino API ? Here is my sample code to iterate the TODO document properties : object[] TaskItems = docTodoDoc.Items as object[]; foreach (NotesItem objItem in TaskItems) { m_objLogFile.Debug(objItem.Name + " - "); m_objLogFile.Debug("Values :: " + ((object[])docTodoDoc.GetItemValue(objItem.Name))[0] as String); } Please help me out to over come this issue as i need to access the status value of the TODO Item from the NSF file.   Hi, I am making a VB.NET application that can download/backup the database that is currently on a remote server. I have Remote Server IP,Username,Password and Database name. I am also able to connect to it. But i don't know what to do after connecting to it. I don't know what all files are need to be backed up.   Hello, I need to do some processing only after the user has successfully logged in the system. I have thought that I can do a RESTful method and setting it as the default-target-url so when the login is successful it goes to this url and then I can redirect to the real index of my web application. <form-login login-page='/login.htm' default-target-url='/home.htm' always-use-default-target='true' /> The problem is that this processing can be executed by calling its URL so it could be executed by any user at any time. I want to make sure it is only executed after login. Is there any way to do this? Thank you very much.

  I have a web application where users can register them self and then save Java and C++ programs in their account. Programs are saved in a tmp directory like, /tmp -user1 --program1 --program2 -user2 --program1 --program2 So all the users folders are in same "tmp" directory. I want to know how can I proved security by not allowing a user to access files of other users. A user will be executing a java or c++ program in his folder which can be used to read files on the server. How to prevent this? I am new to this thing I don't know how to go about this. • How to correctly pop a modeless dialog from console using MFC

  I need to create a console application that has a main() function and pop a modeless dialog, so the console can still work in parallel to the modeless dialog (do other work, like communicating with the modeless dialog). Whatever i tried, i could only pop a modal dialog. (where the console is in hold till the modal dialog close itself). When switching to modeless dialog using Create() and ShowWindow() the dialog is displayed without its controls and it freeze / block (you can see the hourglass cursor). 1) i tried to pop the modeless dialog from the main() function 2) i tried to pop the modeless dialog from the InitInstance() of a CWinApp derived class In all cases the modeless dialog freeze / block. I would like to pre-install OR pre-load OR cache the JavaScript library on each machine (each browser as well) so that it does not travel for each request. I know that browsers do cache a JavaScript library for subsequent requests but I would like the library to be cached once for all subsequent requests, sessions and users. • DWR and Jquery into spring MVC 2.5

  Hi, From my shallow reading, Spring MVC does not support jquery directly. It does enable integration with DWR framework. From my understanding of DWR, it is an ajax framework that allows you to call javas methods from javascript. Can I use both in my application? With Jquery handling most of the javascript code and client side interaction and DWR making the ajax calls? I am leaning towards learning jquery but there is no out of the box support for it in spring 2.5.

  Hi, I am devolping a web application.the problem is that i am using a login control (not a .NET control) which is a part of master page and is acessible from all pages. if user log In from a page the login control updates itself and displlay some statistics of logged In user but the specific page does not reload. (some options on page are visible only to authenticated users, so that after login, page should be reloaded to display such options) after logIn methoed I wrote Reponse.Redirect(Request.Url.AbsoluteUri) after this the browser response the "Page cannot be displayed" It would be of great help to me. • WindowsForms difference to simple Console App

  I currently started to "port" my console projects to WinForms, but it seems I am badly failing doing that. I am simply used to a console structure: I got my classes interacting with each other depending on the input coming from the console. A simple flow: Input -> ProcessInput -> Execute -> Output -> wait for input Now I got this big Form1.cs (etc.) and the "Application.Run(Form1);" But I really got no clue how my classes can interact with the form and create a flow like I described above. I mean, I just have these "...._Click(object sender....)" for each "item" inside the form. Now I do not know where to place / start my flow / loop, and how my classes can interact with the form.

• GUI freezing after datagridviews have been updated using backgroundworkers

  I have made an application which runs three backgroundworkers simultaneously. It basically updates three datagridviews, which it is doing spot on. My problem is if I press maximizebox button or anywhere in any of the datagridview the program hangs for quite a long time. I am able to use the horizontal scroll but not vertical scrolls. I have tried Backgroundworker_runworkercompleted and it fires as required after threads have updated their respective datagridviews. Is it a normal behaviour or am i doing something wrong any suggestions would be helpful. P.S: I have run the whole program using step method and their is no infinite loop in the code.   Hello, I am using a device running on WindowsCE 5.00. I cannot connect the GPRS, there is an error message telling that the port cannot be opened and may be in use by another application. I am not sure but I think the port it is talking about is a comp port to the SIM card that cannot be opened because the SIM doesn't work anymore. To tell the truth, it is likely that one of my coworker did lock the SIM and kept his mouth shut ... How could I get any information about the SIM on Windows CE ?   I have a web application that I want to sync with Flickr. I don't want the users to have to log into Flickr so I plan to use a single login. I believe I'll need to do something like this: import flickrapi flickr = flickrapi.FlickrAPI(myKey, mySecret) (token, frob) = flickr.get_token_part_one(perms='write', my_auth_callback) flickr.get_token_part_two((token, frob,)) flickr.what_have_you(... I don't know what my_auth_callback should look like though. I suspect it will have to post my login information to flickr. Could I do the get_token_part_one step just once manually perhaps and then re-use it in get_token_part_two?

• Problem with HSQLDB & SequenceGenerator

  Hi, I have an entity which has an ID field: @Id @Column(name = "`U##ID_VOIE`") @GeneratedValue(generator = "VOIE_SEQ") private String id; The class has the sequence generator defined as well: @SequenceGenerator(name = "VOIE_SEQ", sequenceName = "VOIE_SEQ") and the Oracle schema has the requisite sequence present. Everything works okay. We also have tests, which uses an in-memory HSQLDB. Before running the tests, all the tables are created based on the Hibernate entity classes. However the table for this particular class is not being created. And error pops up, because ID is a String and the SequenceGenerator in HSQLDB returns an INT / LONG / Numeric value. The application is using a legacy Oracle database and ID_VOIE column must remain a String / Varchar. Any solutions?

• Abort a slow flush to disk after write?

  Is there a way to abort a python write operation in such a way that the OS doesn't feel it's necessary to flush the unwritten data to the disc? I'm writing data to a USB device, typically many megabytes. I'm using 4096 bytes as my block size on the write, but it appears that Linux caches up a bunch of data early on, and write it out to the USB device slowly. If at some point during the write, my user decides to cancel, I want the app to just stop writing immediately. I can see that there's a delay between when the data stops flowing from the application, and the USB activity light stops blinking. Several seconds, up to about 10 seconds typically. I find that the app is holding in the close() method, I'm assuming, waiting for the OS to finish writing the buffered data. I call flush() after every write, but that doesn't appear to have any impact on the delay. I've scoured the python docs for an answer but have found nothing.

Users (and developers before users) can reasonably test the view by simply looking at the pixels on the screen. • What is a good Javascript RDFa parser implementation?

  I am looking to implement a client side RDFa based formatting for a web application. This would be similar to Mark Birbeck's ubiquity-rdfa project. Mark's project looks fantastic but it has at least two drawbacks: It is slow. Adding RDFa formatting to a simple page causes a noticeable delay in page loading. It is complex. The ubiquity-rdfa project makes use of the w3c fresnel specification which is complex way to add simple annotations to client markup. I am looking for a lighter weight way of adding annotations through client code and I don't mind doing some work to get it. What I would like is a fast and reliable Javascript RDFa parser. Some implementations that I have found include: W3C RDFa bookmarklet parser Elias Torres RDFa extractor I am interested to know if you would recommend one of these, or another, RDFa Javascript implementation.
