    I am currently reading Beginning ASP.NET 4: in C# and VB (Wrox Programmer to Programmer) and it comes with both C# and VB.NET source code. I am definitely planning to use C# in the future for most of my projects. But VB.NET - is it worth learning side-by-side with C#? Will there be a case when VB.NET is preferred over C#?

  • missing .cs files in precompiled website with c# in asp.net

    Hi, I need to change the code of some asp.net application but the application is missing its .cs files, there are only .aspx files. As I read in google, I understand that the application is a precompiled website. I am not too familiar with it so the question is, can I somehow retrieve the code-behind .cs files of this application because I need to change some functions there. Surely there is a way I can access them or retrieve them somehow? Thanks in advance, Greg

Any ideas regarding what is causing the error message?

    We have an ASP.NET form with the following doctype:- We need to add autocomplete=off (by setting the TextBox property of AutoCompleteType="Disabled") to the input fields but still need the form to pass XHTML Validation (yes I know it's not XHTML valid because of this). For example, it wants me to have Cache-control: no-cache="set-cookie" in addition to Cache-control: no-cache I have been setting the latter with the following line in my C# codebehind: Response.CacheControl = "no-cache"; Is there a special way to indicate both directives at once? Do I just separate them with a semicolon?

However, it seems that adding an RSS feed to Outlook for the URL elmah.axd/rss or elmah.axd/digestrss bypasses the authentication. What's the point of securing the handler if someone can guess the RSS URL and subscribe to a feed of the error log?
