• Protocol specific channel handlers

  I'm writing an application server that will receive SIP and DNS messages from the network. When I receive a message from the network, I understand from the documentation that at first, I get a ChannelBuffer. I would like to determine which kind of message has been received (SIP or DNS) and to decode it. To determine the message type, I can dedicate port to each type of message, but I would be interested to know if there exist another solution for that. My question is more about how to decode the ChannelBuffer. Is there a ChannelHandler provided by Netty to decode SIP or DNS messages? If not, what would be the right place in the type hierarchy to write my custom ChannelHandler? To illustrate my question, let's take as example the HttpRequestDecoder, the hierarchy is: java.lang.Object org.jboss.netty.channel.SimpleChannelUpstreamHandler org.jboss.netty.handler.codec.frame.FrameDecoder org.jboss.netty.handler.codec.replay.ReplayingDecoder<HttpMessageDecoder.State> org.jboss.netty.handler.codec.http.HttpMessageDecoder org.jboss.netty.handler.codec.http.HttpRequestDecoder Also, do I need to use two different ChannelHandler for decoding and encoding, or is there a possibility to use a single ChannelHandler for both? • Spring webflow 1.0 - Downloading a file

  I am using spring webflow 1.0. I am uploading a csv file, parsing it, and displying results before proceeding. The user has an option to download a csv file that contains the records that did not pass validation. When I click the link in a JSP to download this file, webflow invokes a form Action. The form action writes out a file via getting the output stream off the response: HttpServletResponse response = ((ServletExternalContext) context.getExternalContext()).getResponse(); I do not want to leave the jsp I'm currently on. I just want to download the file. In other words, I do not want to transition to another state. I just want to serve the dynamically rendered file. • How can I get Hudson to be able to access JUnit?

  I've got Hudson running on TOMCAT, it can build my Netbeans project using the ant build.xml, but it won't run any of my unit tests because of what I assume is a problem with the classpath: package org.junit does not exist [javac] import org.junit.After; [javac] ^ But I've got the junit-4.8.1.jar on the classpath in /etc/environment and I can successfuly run the junit tests from a console using java org.junit.runner.JUnitCore org.junit.tests.AllTests My CLASSPATH is set to /home/bedwyr/junit4.8.1/junit-4.8.1.jar:. Am I going wrong somewhere or is there anything else I need to set? [edit] What I did was to export/include (using the ide) all libraries (including Junit) hudson then reads all it needs from the subversion repo. I then ran into an issue with exposing hudson to the internet, and pretty soon gave up on tomcat on ubuntu server (again, to do with the tomcat security manager) - glassfish is a lot smoother and that's where I am now - apache front end with ajp_proxy to hudson on glassfish.

• Every subsequent call to an Axis webservice fails

  I've been having a strange issue with an Axis webservice which is called through the https protocol. Basically, when an invocation is made, the call goes through just fine. • Many DIVs inside parent DIV, CSS height issue

  Hi everyone, I am putting together a dynamic photo gallery and getting stuck trying to place thumbnails. Basically I am trying to place each thumbnail and caption in its own DIV, floated to the left. The thumbnails are working just as I want them to but for some reason the parent DIV refuses to cover the height of the thumbnail area.   I'm trying to add an svn repository to eclipse. I've installed subclipse, and it seems to be working fine. But, when I try to "add a new SVN repository", I input this, for example: http://svn.python.org/projects/peps/trunk I get this: Error validating location: "org.tigris.subversion.javahl.ClientException: RA layer request failed svn: OPTIONS of 'http://svn.python.org/projects/peps/trunk': could not connect to server (http://svn.python.org) " Keep location anyway? I know that my eclipse can connect to the 'net because I downloaded subclipse earlier (I had to change my proxy settings). I get a similar message for other SVN locations I've tried to add. Anyone have any solutions?

In the service, I've got my DAO, and my entity, and I want to delete my entity, so I call DAO.delete(entity); Then, seemingly out of nowhere, I get an InvocationTargetException.   I have a WCF Web Service that my ASP.NET app uses. It has been working fine for quite some time. I just added in a Dev Express Grid (and the Dev Express DLLs) and a new page that uses them and now I am getting parsing errors on the WSDL. But the weird part is that it works fine on my machine but fails on the web server machine. (Both are connecting to the same web services WSDL.) • git filter-branch chmod

  I accidental had my umask set incorrectly for the past few months and somehow didn't notice. One of my git repositories has many files marked as executable that should be just 644. This repo has one main master branch, and about 4 private feature branches (that I keep rebased on top of the master). I've corrected the files in my master branch by running find -type f -exec chmod 644 {} \; and committing the changes. I then rebased my feature branches onto master. The problem is there are newly created files in the feature branches that are only in that branch, so they weren't corrected by my massive chmod commit. I didn't want to create a new commit for each feature branch that does the same thing as the commit I made on master. So I decided it would be best to go back through to each commit where a file was made and set the permissions. This is what I tried: git filter-branch -f --tree-filter 'chmod 644 `git show --diff-filter=ACR --pretty="format:" --name-only $GIT_COMMIT`; git add .' master.. It looked like this worked, but upon further inspection I noticed that the every commit after a commit containing a new file with the proper permissions of 644 would actually revert the change with something like: diff --git a b old mode 100644 new mode 100755 I can't for the life of me figure out why this is happening. I think I must be mis-understanding how git filter-branch works. My Solution I've managed to fix my problem using this command: git filter-branch -f --tree-filter 'FILES="$FILES "`git show --diff-filter=ACMR --pretty="format:" --name-only $GIT_COMMIT`; chmod 644 $FILES; true' development.. I keep adding onto the FILES variable to ensure that in each commit any file created at some point has the proper mode. However, I'm still not sure I really understand why git tracks the file mode for each commit. I had though that since I had fixed the mode of the file when it was first created that it would stay that mode unless one of my other commits explicit changed it to something else. That did not appear to the be the case. The reason I thought that this would work is from my understanding of rebase. If I go back to HEAD~5 and change a line of code, that change is propagated through, it doesn't just get changed back in HEAD~4.

  I have a project that is build up from several OSGi bundles. One of them is a generic Database bundle that defines a DataSource that can be used throughout the project. The spring bean definition of this service is: <osgi:service interface="javax.sql.DataSource"> <bean class="org.postgresql.ds.PGPoolingDataSource"> <property name="databaseName" value="xxx" /> <property name="serverName" value="xxx" /> <property name="user" value="xxx" /> <property name="password" value="xxx" /> </bean> </osgi:service> Now, when using this DataSource is a different bundle, we get an error: No suitable driver found for jdbc:postgresql://localhost/xxx I have tried the following to add the org.postgresql.Driver to the DriverManager: Instantiated an empty bean for that Driver in the spring context, like this: <bean class="org.postgresql.Driver" /> Instantiated the Driver statically in one of the classes, like this: Class.forName("org.postgresql.Driver"); Added a file META-INF\services\java.sql.Driver with the content org.postgresql.Driver None of these solutions seems to help.

  SELECT content FROM html WHERE url="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_United_States_National_Parks_by_state" AND xpath="//a/text()" does not work, whereas SELECT * FROM html WHERE url="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_United_States_National_Parks_by_state" AND xpath="//a/text()" does. SELECT content FROM html WHERE url="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_United_States_National_Parks_by_state" AND xpath="//a" also works, it seems YQL has a bug, or am I missing something?

  I am writing a simple little DSL for specifying constraints on messages, and Have been trying without success for a while to embed XBase expressions into the language. I can't get it to work for ... = any kind of Arithmetic expression, although it works for ...= loop or if expression, or even just a number. As soon as I do something like '-5' or '4-5' it says Couldn't resolve reference to JvmIdentifiableElement '-', even though the Xbase.xtext Grammar looks like it allows these expressions. I don't think I'm missing any Jars, as it doesn't complain when I run the mwe workflow, but only when trying to parse the input file. Any help would be much appreciated.

  Why is the Log4j rootLogger in my application not filtering log events according to level? In my log4j.properties, I have several loggers: log4j.rootLogger=info,stdout log4j.logger.com.name.myapp=debug,myapp log4j.logger.org.castor=debug,castor log4j.logger.org.exolab.castor=debug,castor log4j.logger.org.hibernate=debug,hibernate log4j.logger.org.springframework=debug,spring Each of the loggers receive and record numerous log events at levels DEBUG and above, which is what I expect. The rootLogger, however, despite being set to level INFO, is displaying all of these events, too, including the DEBUG events, which is not what I expect. Instead, I would expect it to filter the DEBUG events, but display only the events at level INFO and higher (WARN, ERROR, and FATAL). Why is rootLogger displaying all of the events?

• How to configure Jetty to reload a WebAppContext when classes are changed

  I'm developing a web application and I run Jetty as the development and testing environment when I develop under Eclipse. When I make changes to Java classes, Eclipse automatically compiles them to the build directory, but Jetty won't see the changes until I stop and start the server. I know that Jetty supports "hot deployment" using ContextDeployer that will refresh updated application contexts, but it relies on a context file in a context directory being updated - which is not very useful in my case. Is there a way to set up Jetty so that it will reload the web app when any of the classes it uses is updated? I am new to the idea of mixins in Tapestry, and I am unsure of where to place my original javascript file which i wish to run when the textfield gains focus.   I wrote a .asmx web service which I'm trying to consume from a java client. I'm using axis2's wsdl2java to generate code. But it says that the wsdl is invalid. What exactly is the problem here? It is .net which generated the wsdl automatically after all. Are there problems with wsdl standards, rather the lack of them? What can I do now?
