  The standard DLL entry point is called DllMain. The second param is DWORD ul_reason_for_call. I have looked up on the MSDN to find all the values this can have, the following are obvious: DLL_PROCESS_ATTACH: DLL_THREAD_ATTACH: DLL_THREAD_DETACH: DLL_PROCESS_DETACH: But what about : DLL_PROCESS_VERIFIER When will the entry point be called with this flag and should I worry about it during 'normal' operation of the DLL?

• How to enable nullptr from C++0x in the Visual C++ 2010?

  I wonder how can I enable the nullptr in the just released Visual Studio 2010. (C++ project, not managed). This is one of the new features but it is not available by default and looking inside the documentation at http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/4ex65770(VS.100).aspx it seams that it is enabled by /clr but this is managed! Is this a feature added only for .NET?

• Passing zero arguments as params -- where the behaviour is defined?

  C# spec. allows you to call a function void foo(params int[] x) with zero parameters. However, I didn't find in C# Lang. Spec. a word on further behaviour -- will foo get empty array or null reference? I checked also MSDN -- nothing. Where the behaviour is defined? NOTE: I am not asking how VS behaves, I am asking about design of the language.

  I am reading the Asp.net security documentation on msdn.I come across these tow terms and get really confused. # WindowsIdentity = WindowsIdentity.GetCurrent(), which returns the identity of the security context of the currently executing Win32 thread. # Thread = Thread.CurrentPrincipal which returns the principal of the currently executing .NET thread which rides on top of the Win32 thread.

  MSDN states the following SortedSet(T).Add Method : If Count is less than the capacity of the internal array, this method is an O(1) operation. Could someone please explain "how so"? I mean when adding new value we need to find a correct place to add a value (comparing it with another values) and internal implementation looks like a "Red-Black tree" with O (log N) insertion complexity.

How would I duplicate the RANK() function in a SQL Server Compact Edition SELECT statement. (Please use Northwind.sdf for any sample select statements, as it is the only one I can open with SQL Server 2005 Management Studio.)

I am talking about from the perspective of using the AppDomain's instance method .Load(), that takes an AssemblyName object as a parameter. But from the semantic point of protected internal" sounds to me like both protected and internal which means the member will accessible only to those derived classes with in the same assembly.
