I'd like to do the equivalent of the following in LINQ, but I can't figure out how:
IEnumerable<Item> items = GetItems();
items.ForEach(i => i.DoStuff());
What is the real syntax?
Consider a situation. We have some specific C++ compiler, a specific set of compiler settings and a specific C++ program.
We compile that specific programs with that compiler and those settings two times, doing a "clean compile" each time.
Should the machine code emitted be the same (I don't mean timestamps and other bells and whistles, I mean only real code that will be executed) or is it allowed to vary from one compilation to another?
I'm just learning about MSBuild and I'm wondering what are some useful tasks people use MSBuild scripts for?
I've gone through the Microsoft documentation, just interested in some real world uses.
Hey Everyone,
I was wondering if it is possible to start a ListActivity and in real time decide how far down the list it should be focused on. (Example: When the activity is started it checks for certain conditions and then it may scroll down to a row partially through the list.)
Thanks,
Rob
I have just finished my android application and now it's time to test it under real-life conditions. The only problem is I'm clueless as to how to take the application and transfer it over to a device. I have already signed the application. What's next?
Thanks in advance for your help!
Though it's on the edge of programming questions, I think this is still relevant here, as only those of us actually doing the coding for a site would be considering this.
I've been reading more about keyword placement, and it seems to me like a good place to do keyword placement would be in the class and id names chosen for the elements they are representing. I'm not talking about any kind of black-hat keyword stuffing thing but real legitimate use of descriptive keywords for elements.
Is this something that is actively done for SEO?
Hi all Rtx experts,
Have anyone implemented hard real-time app on IntervalZero Rtx environment using Boost libraries?
I wish to use the Boost `unordered` data structures instead of solely relying on STL::Vector. Or Array/Vector is the only data structure supported by Rtx?
* Off topic question: Can we use STL::String instead of char pointer for string in Rtx?
Thanks.
I am going to build a website on a test server that will behave differently depending on which domain is used to access it (The real website will have multiple domains pointing to it).
But how will I be able to simulate the different domains on the test server?
I am currently in the process of creating an application that records current location of a mobile device in intervals, displaying the route as a coloured line on the device in real-time. At the same time the application is storing the longitude and latitude in a SQLite database as I want the user to be able to bring up that specific route again.
The route has a primary key and each waypoint is linked to that route by a foreign key.
What would be the easiest way to display the saved route on the map?.
We have a managed COM addin for Outlook
works flawlessly on a real machine
now using VMWare 6.05 I think whe we try and install our addin OL refuses to load us
and we keeo seeing a message( when we go to the manage addins dialog) saying a runtime error occurred when loading the COM component
Nothing on event viewer
We are seeing this on images of Office 2003 and 2007
anyone ever run into something like this where VMWare images are causing issues with OL addins
Using .NET and DirectSound I want to be able to take all output sound that is coming from my audio device and apply effects to it. I've had a quick look at the docs on MSDN and there doesn't seem to be any explanation as to how to do something like this.
I've read elsewhere that you'd be better off writing a driver to sit in front of your real audio driver and have that do whatever you want with the sound.
Any ideas anyone to push me in the right direction?
I think the concept of Python's doctests is brilliant, and as a C++ programmer at a real-time shop, I'm quite jealous. We basically have no unit test capability, which is a severe hindrance. I've seen C++Unit, etc, but is there anything that can extract test cases out of comments like Python's doctests rather than putting them in the code directly?
Hello,
I've been staring at the Memory Monitor in Instruments and I am scratching my had. Why is it displaying virtual memory? iPhone OS has no virtual memory. What does it mean?
My concern is that I am getting memory warnings for my iPad app but the apps real memory never exceeds 70MB and the virtual memory never exceeds 180MB?
Could someone please enlighten me?
Cheers,
Doug
Under WindowsCE, C++ project, I'd like to get CPU utilization and memory allocation data real time - for logging and troubleshooting. Is there a library or activeX available that i could include in my code and use [without bringing my process to a halt, preferably], anyone knows?
thanks much for any insight!
O.
is there a dictionary i can download for java?
i want to have a program that takes a few random letters and sees if they can be rearanged into a real word by checking them against the dictionary
I heard some people complaining about including the windows header file in a C++ application. They mentioned that it is inefficient. Is this just some urban legend or are there really some real hard facts behind it? In other words, if you believe it is efficient or inefficient please explain how this can be with facts.
I am no C++ Windows programmer guru. It would really be appreciated to have detailed explanations.
I want to setup 2 MySQL databases which differ in schema in that, one is normalized and the other is flat for quicker reads and writes. The information being stored in both DBs is the same, but the representation is obviously different owing to the different design approaches.
I need to find a robust solution to sync information in real time from my normalized version to my flatter version.
Is there a way to capture the screen but without the app itself getting shown. I know how to minimize or make a frame invisible but this has to be done real fast cos it's going to happen alot in each second (at least once every second). I want it to look something like the magnifier in Windows Vista/7. (The app can see behind itself.)
Thanks in advance.
Today I came across a new CSS syntax that I have never seen before
content:"\00a0";
Checking it on w3schools, it explains:
Definition and Usage
The content property is used with the :before and :after pseudo-elements, to insert generated content.
My question is, can you point out to me in real world example, how do we use this 'content' syntax? And what does the \00a0 mean in this case?
I check my code into a GIT branch every few minutes or so, and the comments end up being things like "Everything broken starting again" and other absurdities.
Then every few minutes/hours/days I do a serious checkin with a real comment like, "Fixed bug #22.55, 3rd time." How can I separate these two concepts? I would like to be able to remove all my frequent-checkins and just leave the serious ones.
When I try to use assertNotLesser or assertNotGreater I get compile error .. and eclipse suggest me to create a new method called like this .. http://junit-addons.sourceforge.net/junitx/framework/ComparableAssert.html I found it here I never used these options before but I need to write this test, I can do it jmock as well but I don't know how .. I need to compare my expected results let say 0, if the real result is greater that the test should fail.
When looking at the documentation for the banner tag in windows media metafiles all the documentation says there is a maximum size of 194 x 32 pixels.
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd562478(v=VS.85).aspx
However, when experimenting with larger images they seem to be displaying correctly. Is there some real undocumented limitation here? Will it get cut off on different/older versions?
I've used a few F/OSS libraries in my commercial application. As per their licenses, I am obligated to include their source codes along with my VS2008 application. This is my first time making a "real" commercial application, and I would appreciate some advice on how best to go about including their source codes.
I don't want to package them as zip files alongside my installed. I still want my installer to be a single file.
