I started using the lightweight QT4 browser for some of the time on my Mac.
Most simple websites, and even quite a few AJAX-heavy web apps, work for me flawlessly, including gmail (!)
However, with LinkedIn, I can't even manage to sign in. Even when I change the useragent to one of a regular browser, it keeps kicking me out.
Any ideas what could be wrong and for some workaround?
Thanks!
Hello guys!
I want to use the FileMerge utility on my mac, but it isn't installed. I searched in the google and there is written that it will be installed with the developer tools. So the big question is where can I find the developer tools, because I downloaded the iPhone SDK 3.2 beta 5, and installed it, but I can't found the download location of developer tools. Maybe can you help me?
I want to learn a simple language so I can code simple things maybe eventually a game but I don't know where to start. I can code simple things using apple script but you can't do that much with that and it only works on macs. I have a mac and a dell so something that I could code and run on both would be nice. Also all my school offers is java so if you have any ideas on how to learn the language that would be appreciated. Thanks
Hi,
I am in Mac.
With Cocoa,
I know with normal files we can directly read or write without worrying about the endianness.
When processor endian awareness is required?

I'm using Netbeans to add a JToolbar to my window which also has a JMenuBar. Here is the design-time look:
.. but during run-time I get this:
With the toolbar seemingly partially hidden under the menu names. This is on the Mac, btw. Is there something stupid I've forgotten to do or some layout trick I should be using?
EDIT: I'll add that the area below the toolbar is a SplitContainer.
I want to color badge files and folders based on the some condition in finder, what is the approach to achieve this in Mac OS X 10.6
I have checked this question: This only talk about the context menu in finder
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1651075/finder-plugin-in-snow-leopard
I have even checked: http://scplugin.tigris.org/ even they don't do color badging in 10.6 which is pending task.
Thanks in advance for your all help
Just a quick question of concern- the latest xcode and iphone sdk states 'Snow Leopard' beside it. Being new to Mac, does installing this on Leopard work? Please don't tell me to upgrade, I just want an answer.
How could I programmatically install a font on the Mac platform (Snow Leopard)? What steps would I need to follow? I would like for the user to input a font file, then my software installs it.
I installed Cocoa Browser Air at home from the same installation file (for 2.4.1) that works fine at work.
Its info forMac OS X 10.6 looks OK, but there's nothing under either iPhone 3.1 or 3.2.
I've installed the appropriate Documentation Sets in Xcode Preferences-Documentation, and I have an iPhone SDK, which is required to refer to iPhone DocSets. I'm using the Xcode version 3.2.2.
Thanks.
I am new to mac, my question is what else text editors can be used to edit Objective-C code except xcode. And which one is the best for productively editing source code?
Is there a way to detect the character encoding set in the terminal which is calling my Java program? In Windows I can call the "chcp" tool and parse the output.
But what about in Linux or Mac?
I guess I am not saying it right in the title.
What I intend to do is to hook to some system api, like a time interrupt happens every amount of time (which is how every application in the operating system interprets time) and make an application's call to this api return some bigger/smaller result. So from the point view of an applicaiton, time has been speed up or slow down.
I have found some application on windows doing this, can anyone gives me some pointers on how to implement this on Mac OS X?
I have an application where I can launch a modal dialog box over a main window. The main window has some network activity going on in background which updates my background UI. Due to this the application menu becomes accessible even if the modal dialog is open.
How can I avoid this? Any help is appreciated.
I am using Mac, Qt, Carbon.
if you wanna code a desktop application in java for windows, mac and linux, will the code be the same for all of them?
and you just change the GUI so that the Windows application will be more Windows-like and so on?
how does it work without digging into details?
Hi,
When using visual studio to develop c++ applications, I used to write _asm int 3; and then build the application. When the application is executed, if the code path that has "_asm int 3" is encountered Visual Studio Debugger used to get lauched and I could debug the problems.
Is there any similar approach when developing using Xcode on Mac OS X?
Thanks a lot.
Mark
Hello everyone,
I am using MacBook Pro Mac OS 10.5 with related version of XCode. I am new to this development environment. I am developing C++ console/terminal applications (File-New project, then from the list on the left "Command line utility", and on the right "C++ tool".).
For C++ source code file, I want to print source file content with line number. Any ideas how to do this?
thanks in advance,
George
Hi all,
In mac we have option to delete items securely from trash, while deleting it warns that: once deleted items will not be recovered.
I want to know that is there any way by which items deleted "normally, (not securely)" from "Trash" can be recovered?
Thanks,
Miraaj
Anyone have experience parsing the RealLegal PTX file format? I'm interested in creating a Mac reader client for this proprietary format.
The PTX file format is in wide use for storing court and deposition transcripts.
My mac laptop has 1,024,000 pixels.
What's the simplest way to turn my display completely black and go nuts with writing little programs to twiddle pixels to my heart's delight?
To make it more concrete, say I wanted to implement the Chaos Game to draw a Sierpinski triangle, at the pixel level, with nothing else on the screen.
What are ways to do that?
Hey guys I'm new to Mac so please bear with me.
I'm using snow leopard 10.6.4 at the moment.
I want to install numpy and scipy, so I downloaded the python2.6,numpy and scipy dmg files from their official site. However, I'm having problem import numpy:
Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/2.6/lib/python2.6/site-packages/numpy/core/multiarray.so: no matching architecture in universal wrapper
Can anyone shed some light to this problem?
I want to create an iCal Calendar that can be downloaded from my website to the users Calendar program or imported to Google Calendar. What I want to know is if I do a direct Export from iCal on Mac OS X is that the file that I upload to my server? Any catches or caveats I should be aware of? Or is there a better way?
