  • How to replace invalid characters in XML using Javascript or PhP

    - by Raind
    Hi, Need help here for the following: Running PhP, javascript, MySQL, XML. 1) Retrieving file from MySQL and stored it onto XML file. 2) Use javascript function to load XML file (that stored those data). 3) It produces invalid characters in XML file. STEP 1 : Sample of the code in PhP - Loading MySQL DB to store data onto XML file $file= fopen("MapDeals2.xml", "w"); $_xml ="\n"; $_xml .="\n"; while($row1_ThisWeek = mysql_fetch_array($result1_ThisWeek)) { $rRName = $row1_ThisWeek['Retailer_Name']; $rRAddress = $row1_ThisWeek['Retailer_Address1']; $rRAddressPostCode = $row1_ThisWeek['Retailer_AddressPostCode1']; } $_xml .= "<DEAL>\n"; $_xml .= "<DealDescription>" . $d_Description . "</DealDescription>\n"; $_xml .= "<DealURL>" . $d_URL . "</DealURL>\n"; $_xml .= "<DealRName>" . $rRName . "</DealRName>\n"; $_xml .= "<DealRAddress>" . $rRAddress . "</DealRAddress>\n"; $_xml .= "<DealRPostCode>" . $rRAddressPostCode . "</DealRPostCode>\n"; $_xml .= "</DEAL>\n"; } } $_xml .="\n"; fwrite($file, $_xml); fclose($file); STEP 2 : Sample of the code in Javscript - Loading XML file xhttp.open("GET","Test2.xml", false); xhttp.send(""); xmlDoc=xhttp.responseXML; var x=xmlDoc.getElementsByTagName("Employee"); parser = new DOMParser(); xmlDoc = parser.parseFromString("MapDeals2.xml", "text/xml"); for (i=0;i"; . . . } Is there a solution for the above? Looking forward to hear from you soon. Cheers

  • VMWare Server modifying files related to paused VMs, is this expected?

    - by David Spillett
While refreshing the backup of a VM used for testing, I experienced the following warning from tar: tar: /VMsR0/cli_noddyco_test/VM2K8_32_web.vmem: file changed as we read it The VMs in question were paused at the time. My first though was that I'd mixed up the machines and was trying to backup something that was still actively running. To be sure I unpaused and properly shut down the VM, and the vmem files that tar reported changing vanished as I would expect. Is it normal for VMWare Server to touch or alter files for paused VMs like this, or is there likely something amiss with our setup? If this is expected behaviour, is just touching the vmem file (and so altering the last modification date without actually changing content)? If it is normal for files relating to paused VMs to be updated I shall have to revise our backup procedures to make sure the VMs are fully shut down fully rather than just pausing them (this isn't a problem, but it seems strange and I'd prefer to understand what VMWare is doing and why instead of just dismissing it as "one of those things" and working around it). For further detail: the host in question is VMWare Server version 2.0.2 running on 64-bit Debian/Lenny, and that VM did not have a snapshots at the time. We have backed up paused VMs this way in the past with no such warnings from tar.

  • Seg Fault with malloc'd pointers

    - by anon
I'm making a thread class to use as a wrapper for pthreads. I have a Queue class to use as a queue, but I'm having trouble with it. It seems to allocate and fill the queue struct fine, but when I try to get the data from it, it Seg. faults. http://pastebin.com/Bquqzxt0 (the printf's are for debugging, both throw seg faults) edit: the queue is stored in a dynamically allocated "struct queueset" array as a pointer to the data and an index for the data

  • php str_replace pattern

    - by user331071
Hello , I have a php application that saves the pictures on the server and also stores the picture names in the database . The issue that I have is that the picture names include the path/folder where it was saved from (e.g 1220368812/chpk2198933_large-2.jpg) so I need a str_replace pattern to remove "1220368812/" and have the picture name correct stored in the db . Also I would appreciate if you will send me a good link that explains how exactly the str_replace patterns work or at least how the pattern that you use work .

  • Web site backup in PHP?

    - by Pekka
Does anybody know a clean PHP-based solution that can backup remote web sites using FTP? Must haves: Recursive FTP backups Possible to run through a cron job Easy to configure (easy adding of multiple sites) Local storage of backup files is sufficient Would be nice: Backed up sites are stored as zip files A nice interface to manage things Provides notification when backup has succeeded or failed Does incremental backups Does MySQL Database backups I need this to be PHP (or Perl) based because it's going to be used on shared hosting packages that do not allow usage of the standard GNU/Linux tools available.

  • How to import php with javascript?

    - by dcp3450
I know JavaScript is client side and PHP is server-side. I also know this is an odd question. However, the CMS editor I'm using will not allow php to be stored to the database (it's the same editor used by Dupral). I can store JavaScript though. Can I import a php file with JavaScript. Or rather read the php file, store the content in a variable then out put the content to the screen?

    - by user281180
I have a textarea in which the user enters the following data: Paul:Nine, Rome Jenny:Five, India Bob I want to read the data and store the values before the colon in an array and the values after the colon in another array. Please note that the user may not enter values after the colon like in case 3 above. In such case, the value must be stored in the first array as if it is before the colon. How can I do that using jquery?

    - by vy32
I am looking for documentation of the ithmb format used by Apple for photos stored on an Apple iPod. I would be happy with source code or a description. The only "documentation" I can find is pre-compiled executables that crack out the JPEGs. Does anyone know how to do this?

  • List of SQL Server errors that should be retried?

    - by Christopher
Is there a concise list of SQL Server stored procedure errors that make sense to automatically retry? Obviously, retrying a "login failed" error doesn't make sense, but retrying "timeout" does. I'm thinking it might be easier to specify which errors to retry than to specify which errors not to retry. So, besides "timeout" errors, what other errors would be good candidates for automatic retrying? Thanks!

  • Is a display list best for this? (OpenGL)

    - by user146780
I'm rendering 2D polygons with the GLUTesselator the first time, then they are stored in a display list for subsequent use. I think VBO's might be faster, but since I can't access the stuff that the tesselator outputs, and since it uses mixes of gl_triangle, quad, strip etc, i'm not sure how I could do this, even though I would like to use VBO's once the GLUTesselator is done with them for optimal performance. Thanks
