  • Logging in with webrat, celerity doesn't recognize that.

    - by Matthew Willhite
I'm using cucumber with webrat, and I am just starting to integrate culerity/celerity. My webrat login steps have been working great, and I have them as a Background for many of my scenarios. The problem is that although I can log in successfully via webrat, my celerity specific step definitions don't seem to recognize that. I can check the session from the step def and it confirms that I have a valid user that is logged in. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

    - by shahkalpesh
I have seen samples of closure from - http://stackoverflow.com/questions/36636/what-is-a-closure Can anyone provide simple example of when to use closure? Specifically, scenarios in which closure makes sense? Lets assume that the language doesn't have closure support, how would one still achieve similar thing? Not to offend anyone, please post code samples in a language like c#, python, javascript, ruby etc. I am sorry, I do not understand functional languages yet.

  • Is this a valid LGPL scenario?

    - by themapguyde
Suppose I have Project X under closed source. It references/links to component Y which is LGPL, we make modifications to component Y 1) We release Project X binaries with the source to the modified component Y OR 2) We contribute component Y modifications back upstream (to the original author(s)) and release Project X binaries without component Y source. Does any of these scenarios comply with the LGPL?

  • XCode code generation

    - by Ali Shafai
I was wondering if there is a tool (automator script or a third party) to generate code for simple scenarios like add another property. I don't like going to two or three places and write the same thing over and over again. instead I want to say "I want a new property of type int with name X" and it generates the lines in .h and .m files for me in one go.

  • When to use Python special methods?

    - by bodacydo
I know that classes can implement various special methods, such as __iter__, __setitem__, __len__, __setattr__, and many others. But when should I use them? Can anyone describe typical scenarios when I would want to implement them and they would simplify programming in Python? Thanks, Boda Cydo.

  • What reasons have people had to write their own classloader

    - by montyontherun
I was recently asked in an interview about the order in which classloaders are called when a class is loaded. Unfortunately I've never had the need to write my own classloader so at the time was unfamiliar with the intricacies of classloading. This got me wondering, what reasons are their to write your own classloader. So that's my question: What scenarios have people faced which required the need to writing their own classloaders?

  • What is instrumentation?

    - by Jon Seigel
I've heard this term used a lot in the same context as logging, but I can't seem to find a clear definition of what it actually is. Is it simply a more general class of logging/monitoring tools and activities? Please provide sample code/scenarios when/how instrumentation should be used.

  • SecurityFlushSessionListener in jboss

    - by techzen
In jboss-web.deployer/conf/web.xml there is a listener defined called SecurityFlustSessionListener. This listener searches for the component java:comp/env/security/securityMgr and if not found prints that info in the debug log. It is understood that if this security feature is not needed then, one can simply remove this listener. How have you used this listener for configuring security at the time of session destroying? As in, can you highlight the use cases of this listener and the scenarios where it was found useful?

  • Hidden Features of ASP.NET

    - by Vaibhav
There are always features that would be useful in fringe scenarios, but for that very reason most people don't know them. I am asking for features that are not typically taught by the text books. What are the ones that you know?

  • UINavigationController Back Button not visible, but works

    - by cagreen
I have a scenario where my UINavigationController is missing the back button (left button) but tapping the left button still seems to work. I found a similar problem posted here: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/919832/uinavigationcontrollers-back-button-disappears which was resolved by not setting the title to @"", but that's not my problem. Are there any other scenarios that would cause this behaviour? Thanks.

  • Do any clouds support SSD storage?

    - by taw
I'm using Amazon cloud right now, and the biggest performance issue is horrible I/O performance. As long as something fits RAM it's fine - once it's too big it gets ridiculously slow (in many different scenarios). There are only so many ways one can avoid hitting disk - so the question is - does Amazon or some other cloud provide SSD option?
