  • Convert VB.NET code to C#

    - by Sorush Rabiee
Hi people, I have three projects written with VB.NET (2005) and have to convert them to C# code. (I know that i don't need to convert codes of .net languages at all). I have no time to rewrite them, need a tool or script to convert. Note: they are console applications.

  • Python beginner confused by a complex line of code

    - by Protean
I understand the gist of the code, that it forms permutations; however, I was wondering if someone could explain exactly what is going on in the return statement. def perm(l): sz = len(l) print (l) if sz <= 1: print ('sz <= 1') return [l] return [p[:i]+[l[0]]+p[i:] for i in range(sz) for p in perm(l[1:])]

  • Performing your own runtime analysis of your code in C#

    - by Matt
I have written a large C# app with many methods in many classes. I'm trying to keep a log of what gets called and how often during my development. (I keep a record in a DB) Every method is padded with the following calls: void myMethod() { log(entering, args[]); log(exiting, args[]); } Since I want to do this for all my methods, is there a better way to do this then having to replicate those lines of code in every method?

  • How to disable the Formatter in Delphi 2010

    - by Gad D Lord
Hello, The formatter in Delphi 2010 is really an annoying thing to me. I prefer formatting my code manually. I believe I do it better. How can I disable it? NOTE: Answers on why I don't use it in the first place will not be accepted. I need it switched OFF. Nothing more, nothing less. Thank you.

  • Silverlight DataGrid Updating SelectedItem from code

    - by Mark Cooper
When I update a datagrid SelectedItem from code (via a bound object in a ViewModel), how to I get the visual grid to highlight the newly selected item? Thanks, Mark UPDATE: This is still an issue for me. My SelectedItem property already implements change notification, but the datagrid is not VISUALLY displaying which row has been selected - i.e. it is not getting highlighted.

  • Suggested php code to read file rating set by Adobe Bridge CS3

    - by DarwinIcesurfer
Background: I have been attempting to read the rating that is assigned in Adobe Bridge CS3 using the creative commons Metadata toolkit for php without success. I am using shared hosting so I do not have an oppotunity to recompile php with different modules. Is php code available that could be used to read the rating that is embedded in the .jpg file? I have read that this is an xmp (xml) formatted section within the file.

  • Code to show UIPickerview under clicked UITextField

    - by Chris F
    I thought I'd share a code snippet where I show a UIPickerView when you click a UITextField. The code uses a UIPickerView, but there's no reason to use a different view controller, like a UITableViewController that uses a table instead of a picker. Just create a single-view project with a nib, and add a UITextField to the view and make you connections in IB. // .h file #import @interface MyPickerViewViewController : UIViewController <UIPickerViewDelegate, UIPickerViewDataSource, UITextFieldDelegate> - (IBAction)dismissPickerView:(id)sender; @end // .m file #import "MyPickerViewViewController.h" @interface MyPickerViewViewController () { UIPickerView *_pv; NSArray *_array; IBOutlet __weak UITextField *_tf; BOOL _pickerViewShown; } @end @implementation MyPickerViewViewController - (void)viewDidLoad { [super viewDidLoad]; _pickerViewShown = NO; _array = [NSArray arrayWithObjects:@"One", @"Two", @"Three", @"Four", nil]; _pv = [[UIPickerView alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectZero]; _pv.showsSelectionIndicator = YES; _pv.dataSource = self; _pv.delegate = self; _tf.delegate = self; _tf.inputView = _pv; } - (IBAction)dismissPickerView:(id)sender { [_pv removeFromSuperview]; [_tf.inputView removeFromSuperview]; [_tf resignFirstResponder]; _pickerViewShown = NO; } - (void)didReceiveMemoryWarning { [super didReceiveMemoryWarning]; // Dispose of any resources that can be recreated. } - (BOOL)textFieldShouldBeginEditing:(UITextField *)textField { if (!_pickerViewShown) { [self setRectForPickerViewRelativeToTextField:textField]; [self.view addSubview:_tf.inputView]; _pickerViewShown = YES; } else { [self dismissPickerView:self]; } return NO; } - (void)setRectForPickerViewRelativeToTextField:(UITextField*)textField { CGFloat xPos = textField.frame.origin.x; CGFloat yPos = textField.frame.origin.y; CGFloat width = textField.frame.size.width; CGFloat height = textField.frame.size.height; CGFloat pvHeight = _pv.frame.size.height; CGRect pvRect = CGRectMake(xPos, yPos+height, width, pvHeight); _pv.frame = pvRect; } - (NSString *)pickerView:(UIPickerView *)pickerView titleForRow:(NSInteger)row forComponent:(NSInteger)component { return [_array objectAtIndex:row]; } - (NSInteger)numberOfComponentsInPickerView:(UIPickerView *)pickerView { return 1; } - (NSInteger)pickerView:(UIPickerView *)pickerView numberOfRowsInComponent:(NSInteger)component { return _array.count; } - (void) pickerView:(UIPickerView *)pickerView didSelectRow:(NSInteger)row inComponent:(NSInteger)component { _tf.text = [_array objectAtIndex:row]; [self dismissPickerView:self]; } @end

  • WTF is wtf? (in WebKit code base)

    - by Motti
I downloaded Chromium's code base and ran across the WTF namespace. namespace WTF { /* * C++'s idea of a reinterpret_cast lacks sufficient cojones. */ template<typename TO, typename FROM> TO bitwise_cast(FROM in) { COMPILE_ASSERT(sizeof(TO) == sizeof(FROM), WTF_wtf_reinterpret_cast_sizeof_types_is_equal); union { FROM from; TO to; } u; u.from = in; return u.to; } } // namespace WTF Does this mean what I think it means? Could be so, the bitwise_cast implementation specified here will not compile if either TO or FROM is not a POD and is not (AFAIK) more powerful than C++ built in reinterpret_cast. The only point of light I see here is the nobody seems to be using bitwise_cast in the Chromium project. I see there's some legalese so I'll put in the little letters to keep out of trouble. /* * Copyright (C) 2008 Apple Inc. • packaging and distributing Python code as executables

    - by user248237
How can I compile my python module into an executable, and distribute it in a way that doesn't require the user to download all the external Python packages that the module I wrote uses? Aside from that, is there a general guy on packaging and distributing python code? i.e. going from a script/module to someone that's user-friendly and can be run, ideally cross-platform (at least between unix and mac). thanks.
