  • How to set variable size for List control item in Flex?

    - by joejax
The following code display a list of comments using List control. The item height set to a fixed value (150), so it seems working: if the content is too long, the scrollbar shows... However, what I really want is not to set the height but let it to change according to the content size. Is there any way to accomplish this? <mx:List id="commentList" width="100%" dataProvider="{commentSet.commentArrayColl}" rowCount="{commentSet.commentArrayColl.length}" > <mx:itemRenderer> <mx:Component> <mx:VBox width="100%" height="150" > <mx:Text text="{data.commentContent}" /> <mx:Text text="{data.username} ({data.modified})"/> </mx:VBox> </mx:Component> </mx:itemRenderer> </mx:List>

  • Is it possible to raise an error if a variable assignment in a select returns multiple values?

    - by Brann
I just found a bug on one of my softwares where I had forgotten a where clause. The code was something like that : declare @foo bigint declare @bar bigint select @foo = foo, @bar=bar from tbFooBar where (....a long list of condition goes there) (... and an extra condition should have went there but I forgot it) Unfortunately, the where clause I forgot was useful in very specific corner cases and the code went through testing successfully. Eventually, the query returned two values instead of one, and the resulting bug was a nightmare to track down (as it was very difficult to reproduce, and it wasn't obvious at all that this specific stored procedure was causing the issue we spotted) Debugging would have been a lot easier if the @foo=foo had raised an exception instead of silently assigning the first value out of multiple rows. Why is that this way? I can't think of a situation where one would actually want to do that without raising an error (bearing in mind the clauses 'distinct' and 'top' are there for a reason) And is there a way to make sql server 2008 raise an error if this situation occurs ?

  • Sorting a list of variable length integers delimited by decimal points...

    - by brewerdc
Hey guys, I'm in need of some help. I have a list of delimited integer values that I need to sort. An example: Typical (alpha?) sort: 1.1.32.22 11.2.4 2.1.3.4 2.11.23.1.2 2.3.7 3.12.3.5 Correct (numerical) sort: 1.1.32.22 2.1.3.4 2.3.7 2.11.23.1.2 3.12.3.5 11.2.4 I'm having trouble figuring out how to setup the algorithm to do such a sort with n number of decimal delimiters and m number of integer fields. Any ideas? This has to have been done before. Let me know if you need more information. Thanks a bunch! -Daniel

  • How to expose a constructor variable(sic!) as read-only?

    - by Malax
Hi StackOverflow! I have this rather simple question about Scala. Given that i have to following class definition: class Foo(var bar: Int) The code which is able to construct an instance of Foo must be able to pass the initial value for bar. But if I define bar as var the User is also able to change its value at runtime which is not what I want. The User should only be able to read bar. bar itself is modified internally so a val is not an option. I think I might be getting an answer very soon as this question is so simple. :-) Cheers, Malax

  • Shared/Static Variable Should Be Nothing but Isn't - what gives?

    - by Denis
I have the following code: Public Class TestClass Public Sub Test() If theGlobal IsNot Nothing Then Throw New Exception("What gives!") End Sub Private Shared theGlobal As Object = Nothing Private Shared ReadOnly Property Global Get If theGlobal Is Nothing Then theGlobal = New Object() End If Return theGlobal End Get End Property End Class Am stumped... Why is theGlobal object NOT Nothing?

  • Generating Fibonacci Numbers Using variable-Length Arrays Code Compiler Error.

Compile error in vs2010(Win32 Console Application Template) for the code below. How can I fix it. unsigned long long int Fibonacci[numFibs]; // error occurred here error C2057: expected constant expression error C2466: cannot allocate an array of constant size 0 error C2133: 'Fibonacci' : unknown size Complete code attached(It's a sample code from programming In c -3E book. • Why "constructor-way" of declaring variable in "for-loop" allowed but in "if-statement" not allowed?

    - by PiotrNycz
    Consider this simple example: /*1*/ int main() { /*2*/ for (int i(7); i;){break;} /*3*/ if (int i(7)) {} /*4*/ } Why line-2 compiles just fine, whilst line-3 gives the error? This is little strange to me why if-statement is in this aspect treated worse than for-loop? If this is compiler specific - I tested with gcc-4.5.1: prog.cpp: In function 'int main()': prog.cpp:3:7: error: expected primary-expression before 'int' prog.cpp:3:7: error: expected ')' before 'int' I was inspired by this question [UPDATE] I know this compiles just fine: /*1*/ int main() { /*2*/ for (int i = 7; i;){break;} /*3*/ if (int i = 7) {} /*4*/ }

  • Is it possible to set a parameterized build or pass an environment variable via a hudson build trigger?

    - by Tim
I'd like to use hudson to trigger a "promotion" of a build. The build would be a simple script that just copies a release candidate installer file from one location to another. (development dir to release/stable dir) Our build server is not on the public internet, but I want to be able to send an email or a text message or an IM with the build number to hudson, which will parse the build number and then do the copy/move. In looking at the jabber/IM plugin it does not look like this is possible (the parameter part) Has anyone solved this in some way? Should I use some other mechanism? I would prefer not to have to do the manual steps each time (SCP/FTP, etc) - I just want any QA team member to be able to trigger the build server to do the promotion.

  • How to get a column value contained in SqlDataSource to a variable.

    - by Shantanu Gupta
I am trying to fetch a column value from a datasource when some value is selected from a dropdownlist on its change event. <asp:DropDownList ID="ddlCityName" runat="server" DataSourceID="dsCity" DataTextField="CityName" DataValueField="CityID" AutoPostBack="True" OnTextChanged="CityName_OnTextChanged"> </asp:DropDownList> <asp:SqlDataSource ID="dsCity" runat="server" ConnectionString="<%$ ConnectionStrings:GmapConnectionString %>" SelectCommand="SELECT * FROM [vcity]" ></asp:SqlDataSource> Here I want to fetch any other column's value that is not binded to a ddlCityName from sqldatasource. I have four columns in datasource i.e. name, id, address, phno. I want to fetch an address of a person who selects some value from ddl.

  • Run-Time Check Failure #2 - Stack around the variable 'indices' was corrupted.

    - by numerical25
well I think I know what the problem is. I am just having a hard time debugging it. I am working with the directx api and I am trying to generate a plane along the x and z axis according to a book I have. The problem is when I am creating my indices. I think I am setting values out of the bounds of the indices array. I am just having a hard time figuring out what I did wrong. I am unfamiliar with the this method of generating a plane. so its a little difficult for me. below is my code. • How to maintain fixed size of C variable types over different machines?

    - by Alex
I've all this kind of functions. ssize_t fuc1(int var1, void *buf, size_t count); int func2(char *charPtr, int mode, int dev); short func3( long var2); problem is that data types in C has different sizes when compiled on different machines(64bit & 32bit). This is true for even void*. For some reasons. I need to ensure that these sizes all are same on every machine(64bit & 32bit). So, how should I modify these ?

  • Is there a variable in Rails that equates to the template that is being rendered?

    - by Sean Ahrens
I can do request.path_parameters['controller'] and request.path_parameters['action'], but is there anything like request.path_parameters['template'] so I can discern which template file (such as index.html.erb) is being rendered? I'm writing a method that automatically sets the body id to the template being rendered, for easy css manipulation: class ApplicationController < ActionController::Base ... after_filter :define_body_selector ... def define_body_selector # sets @body_id to the name of the template that will be rendered # ie. if users/index.html.erb was just rendered, @body_id gets set to "index" @body_id = ??? end ...

  • How to pass an integer to create new variable name?

    - by Joe
I have 50 svg animations named animation0, animation1, animation2 etc. and I want to load them when the integer 0 to 49 is passed to this function: function loadAnimation(value){ var whichswiffy = "animation" + value; var stage = new swiffy.Stage(document.getElementById('swiffycontainer'), whichswiffy); stage.start(); } It doesn't work at the moment, maybe it's passing 'whichswiffy' rather than 'animation10'? Any ideas?

  • If a Matlab function returns a variable number of values, how can I get all of them as a cellarray,

    - by kaleidomedallion
I am writing a function to remove some values from a cellarray, like so: function left = remove(cells, item); left = cells{cellfun(@(i) ~isequal(item, i), cells)}; But when I run this, left has only the first value, as the call to cells{} with a logical array returns all of the matching cells as separate values. How do I group these separate return values into a single cellarray? Also, perhaps there is already a way to remove a given item from a cellarray? I could not find it in the documentation.

  • How do you check to see if a variable has changed every second or less in objective c?

    - by James
I am using an if statement to check the value of a BOOLEAN when i click on a button. When the button is clicked if the value is false i want to display a UIActivityIndicator and if the value is true i want to push the new view. I can do this fine but i want the view to change automatically when the BOOLEAN Becomes true if the user has already clicked the button. So my question is how do you check to see if a value has changed everysecond or less?

  • How can I qualify an autowired property with a variable from a config file using annotations?

    - by jiggy
    My specific problem is that I have configured two beans that implement the same interface and I have a third bean that has a property of that interface's type. I inject the property using a config property. So, assuming RemoteDataSource and LocalDataSource implement IDataSource and dao1 has a property of type IDataSource, my XML config might look like this: <bean id="datasource1" class="com.foo.RemoteDataSource"> <property name="url">${url}</property> </bean> <bean id="datasource2" class="com.foo.LocalDataSource"> <property name="path">${filepath}</property> </bean> <bean id="dao1" class="com.foo.MyDAO"> <property name="dataSource">${datasource}</property> </bean> With url, filepath and datasource being defined in an included properties file. We are now making a push for annotation-driven configuration and I'm not sure how to annotate my dao to put the data source configured in the property file. I want to do something like this, but it is evidently not allowed: @Autowired @Qualifier("${datasource}") public void setDataSource(IDataSource datasource) {...}
