  • Flex and .NET - What's a good way to get data into Flex, WebORB? Web Services?

    Ok, I asked a question earlier about Flex and ADO.NET Data Services but didn't get much response so I thought I'd rephrase. Does anyone have any experience building Adobe Flex applications with a .NET back-end? If so, what architecture did you use and what third-party tools if any did you employ. I've read a little about doing Flex remoting with WebORB but it seems more complicated than it should be, are web services an adequate alternative?

I'd like to ask those of you who have experience in SP (MOSS or WSS, since we might upgrade in the future) for a list of the items that ticked you off or required a difficult workaround. Here's one from me - I found when I implemented forms authentication that a lot of the built-in integration with Microsoft Office disappeared, and I was also unable to use explorer view.

    Implementing agile in projects requires the ability to do refactoring. It is not really a must, but code refactoring has proven to be a good engineering practice. In an agile (Scrum) project on the iSeries platform, which requires development (new code and modifications to legacy code) in RPG, RPG LE, is it possible to implement refactoring?   • Good SMTP server on Windows for a production server

    I'm going to have my website hosted soon on a VPS or dedicated server (with Windows 2008), so I'm trying to plan ahead. I wonder whether the built-in SMTP server that comes with IIS7 is reliable enough for a production server or should I look for an alternative? I heard good things about hmailserver and best of all it's free, do you have any experience with using the bulit-in SMTP on a high traffic website. Thanks a lot for any suggestions

We chose to use CodeIgniter for the project, and are having some problems getting everything working together. Does anyone have experience setting up such a configuration?     Has anyone taken the vmware certified professional exam? I was wondering if I can just take this class: http://mylearn1.vmware.com/mgrreg/courses.cfm?ui=www&a=one&id_subject=10103 or would I need to do additional studying on my own? I'm a developer with limited server experience. I'm aware of the technologies but haven't worked with them directly.
