• Text Editor for comments

- by Mike Silvis
I am using the CKEditor for my website along with PHP, and want to allow only , , , and tags. This is easy, however our problem is that a user could essentially add a tag some where and then not close it resulting in all of the comments thereafter and the rest of that page being bolded. How do we check and make sure that whatever tag is opened is now closed?

• regular expressions for class name

- by user576701
i need a regular expressions string to get all anchor tags in a page with a specific css class name, in c#/vb.net this is what i got so far "<a.*?href=""(.*?)"".*?>(.*?)" but my attempts to add "class=name" isnt working, also is it possible to find links where the class name appears either before or after the href with one expression ? i am familiar with 3rd party html libraries, but thats an overkill for what i have in mind, so is the webbrowser control.

• Why use <g:textField /> in Grails?

- by knorv
What is the reason to use g:textField in Grails if you're already familiar with standard HTML form tags? If I understand correctly the following two markup alternatives are equivalent: <g:textField name="name" value="${params.name}" /> Are there any circumstances under which using g:textField would add value? Am I missing something?

• Replace a method call

- by deV
Hi, I want to achieve below task: 1. I need to search Html.Resource("key") in my application and replace it with GetResource("key",object) 2. The GetResource method has two parameters: the first parameter should be the same as the original method,"key" in this case, and I need to pass in the second parameter which is variable. 3. I need to replace only when the Html.Resource("key") occurs inside certain tags like td and div else I need not replace it. Thanks in advance

• Is there a way to stop all javascript on the page?

- by M28
I need to stop all the javascript running on the page, but I have a limitation: I cannot control the tags content, I am editing the page after it's being loaded. Also, I need to remove all the variables defined by the old script that was running and stop all the intervals.

• vertical align img

- by JK36
I have a div called "images" which has a width of 277px. Within that div I have 9 images in it, just stored as tags. I've got the images to float left and line up quite nicely within my div, but I would like the images to align vertically, as some are portrait and others are landscape. I know I can do this if I enclose each image in a div, but the plugin I use to launch the gallery won't recognise which image is being fired, so i need to enclose them as just within the tags. This is the code I have, if someone can help me just align the images horizontally and vertically. I don't want the images to be skewed. #images_box a { float:left; padding:9px; width: 70px; height: 70px; text-align: center; vertical-align: middle; display: table-cell; } my data
<a class="fancybox" rel="gallery1" href="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7234/7047458501_46a2203733_b.jpg" title="Self confined... • jQuery .load(), don't show new content until images loaded

- by Jarred
Hi. I have been working on a jQuery photo slideshow. It scales the images to the browser size, and slides them left and right. There is no pre-determined size or aspect ratio, the script does everything on the fly. It requires that all images be fully loaded, so it can custom resize each individual image based on it's own aspect ratio ( width():height(), etc ), calculate the width of containing div, and calculate the slide distance from one image to another. As a stand-alone, it works pretty well (despite my lack of skills)! I simply hide the slideshow containing div at (document).ready, allow the images to load, then run the slideshow prep scripts at (window).load. Once this is done, it only then makes the slideshow divs, images, etc appear, properly sized, positioned and ready to roll. The ultimate goal is to be able to load in any number of slideshows without refreshing the page. The point of this is to be able to play uninterrupted background music. I know music on websites is annoying, but the target market likes it, a lot! I am using (target).load(page.php .element, function prepInsertNewShow() { //Prepare slideshow resizeImages(); slideArray(); //Show slideshow (target).fadeIn(); }); and it definitely works! The problem is that I cannot find a way to hold off on preparing and showing the new content until the images have finished loading. It is running the slideshow prep scripts (which are totally dependent on the images being fully loaded), before the images are loaded. This results in a completely jacked up show! What I want to do is this - (target).load(page.php .element, function prepInsertNewShow() { //Wait until images are loaded $('img').load( function() { //Prepare slideshow resizeImages(); slideArray(); //Show slideshow (target).fadeIn(); } }); But this doesn't seem to work, the new content is never shown. You can see a live version here. The initial gallery loads correctly, everything looks good. The only nav link that works is Galleries Engagement, which will load a new show (a containing div with multiple tags). You will see that the images are not centered, the containing div and slide distances are much too small, as they were calculated using images that were not actually loaded. Is there any way I can delay handling and showing new content until it is fully loaded? Any suggestions would be most appreciated, thanks for your time! PS - It just occurred to me while typing this that a decent solution may be to insert "width=x" height="x" into the tags, so the script can work from those values, even if the images have not loaded...hmm...

• Is there a link to the "latest" jquery library on Google APIs?

- by Nick Pierpoint
I use the following for a jquery link in my tags: http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.2.6/jquery.js Just wondered if anyone had discovered whether there's a link to the "latest" version: Something like the following (which doesn't work): http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/latest/jquery.js (Obviously not necessarily a great plan to link your code to potentially changing libraries but useful in development)

• named anchors not working in safari

- by David
Hi there, can anyone explain why named anchor tags would not work in safari but work fine in other browsers: ie, ff, opera, chrome. I have some links to different areas of the same page and nothing happens when clicking on them in safari only. All the other browsers mentioned take me to that area of the page. I have tried using both the id and the name attribute for the anchors but neither makes any difference.

• Search tool that uses a grammar rather than regular expression?

- by Tom Hubbard
Are there any search tools that allow you to set up a simple token/grammar parsing system that work similar to regular expressions? What we want to do is search our ColdFusion code for queries that do not have cfqueryparams in them. A regular expression gets a bit tough in this situation because I can't keep track of the start tags while looking for something else before getting an end tag. It seems like a parsing system would work more accurately.

• What does in XML mean?

- by mystify
I often find this strange CDATA tag in XML files: I have observed that this CDATA tag always comes at the beginning, and then followed by some stuff. But sometimes it is used, sometimes it is not. I assume it is to mark that some "data" will be inserted after that. But what kind of "data"? Isn't anything I write in XML tags some sort of "data"?

• Subversion: Oops! Any way to move / to /trunk?

- by Metaphile
I made the mistake of creating a Subversion repository without the usual trunk, branches, and tags directories. That is, the root directory of the project maps to the root directory of the repository. Now I want to create a feature branch, but there's no good place to put it. What I'd like to do is move / to /trunk, preserving its properties and history. Am I out of luck?

• Disabling the "save password" prompt in web browsers

- by torrtruk
hi guys. How do I disable the save password prompt in web browsers whenever I'm submitting a form. I've seen a few bank sites where this doesn't come up. Are they doing it through JS or there any http headers or HTML meta tags available to achieve this? I'm trying to do this for a mobile application. Please pour your ideas.

• Can I declare the same value for two attributes at once

- by graphicdivine
For example, for accessibility reasons I want my onfocus and onmouseover to have identical values. For the sake of maintainability I want to declare this once only. What I'd like to be able to do is this: <a onmouseover, onfocus="assist('hello');">linktext But, of course, that would be too easy, and doesn't work. What's the best way I can achieve this DRYing out of my tags?

• Parse CSS out from elements

- by awj
Can someone tell me an efficient method of retrieving the CSS between tags on a page of markup in .NET? I've come up with a method which uses recursion, Split() and CompareTo() but is really long-winded, and I feel sure that there must be a far shorter (and more clever) method of doing the same. Please keep in mind that it is possible to have more than one element on a page, and that the element can be either or .
