  • DFS "clobering" files

    - by Badger
We have DFS setup using the DFS Management Administrator Tool. I turned on replication in the Distributed File System Administrator Tool as well and this morning we lost tons of files from that share. Please explain to me why this was wrong and if there is anything that can be done to repair it. (No, we don't have backups. We have some shadow copies, but those were deleted as well. We have been using DFS as its own backup)

I use Transmission on Mac for handling my torrents. I just reformatted and reinstalled Transmission. How do I go about letting Transmission know that the .torrent files I have, are already downloaded and to start seeding without starting downloading again?

  • Where are the netlogon files physically stored?

    - by johnny
I have umpteen backups trying to restore my scripts I had in the netlogon share but when I go to them the folder is empty. Does backup not back those scripts in netlogon up? Is there somewhere I should expect to see the files at besides c:\winnt\sysvol\sysvol\mydomain\scripts? Thank you for any help.

  • T-SQL for autogrowth of multiple data files

    - by ddono25
I can't seem to figure out the problems with my script to alter SQL Server 2008 database and file growth. There are two data files and a log file, all which need to have Autogrowth ON. Does this look completely wrong? Thanks! USE MASTER GO ALTER DATABASE BigDB MODIFY FILE ( NAME = BIGDBPPE, FILENAME = "H:\MSSQL\Data\BigDB.mdf", MAXSIZE = UNLIMITED, FILEGROWTH = 2000MB) USE MASTER GO ALTER DATABASE BigDB MODIFY FILE ( NAME = BIGDBPPE1, FILENAME = "K:\MSSQL\Data\BigDB_data1.ndf", MAXSIZE = UNLIMITED, FILEGROWTH = 2000MB) USE MASTER GO ALTER DATABASE BigDB MODIFY FILE ( NAME = BIGDBPPE_log, FILENAME = "O:\MSSQL\Data\BigDB_log.ldf", MAXSIZE = UNLIMITED, FILEGROWTH = 200MB) GO

  • Task scheduling Batch Files in Vista

    - by ArmoredCAvalry
Wondering if there is some trick to scheduling a batch file to run in Vista. I have tried almost every setting/arg I can think of with no result other than an error, or the command window opening then instantly closing without executing the code. The batch files works fine when I double click to run.

  • how to delete files owned by Apache ?

    - by Revolter
I've installed a CMS on a shared host running Apache, now when I was deleting the root directory with FTP, some folders left with a "Permission denied" error and I can't change their attributes. the best explanation I've got is that the CMS installer has placed the files and has assigned its ownership to the Apache server instead of my user name. (i don't know it can be done) Ijust haven't use the uninstaller because I've lost my admin password - -" so how to delete those folders ?

  • Get Explorer preview for .eml files in Windows 7

    - by Pekka
Is there an application or plug-in that allows viewing .eml E-Mail dumps (that may contain HTML and attachments) in Windows 7's preview pane? I'm aware of the possibility of adding the file type in the registry but that will give only a plain-text view of the files, not a parsed view. HTML viewing is a must for what I need, attachments are optional. Is there some top-notch E-Mail client that introduces this functionality? Is there a generic way of doing this?

  • different .bashrc files for different login nodes?

    - by 130490868091234
Can I have different .bashrc files loading when logging into different nodes that share the same home dir? This is, I am mostly interested to loading different PATH directories when logging as bash, depending on the different Linux nodes I log into? For example, if I log into bash in machine abc-01, I would like to have a given .bashrc loaded, but when I log into abc-02, that uses the same /home/username directory, I would like to use a different .bashrc. How can I go about doing that?

  • Cannot send or receive files over Bluetooth

    - by denise
I have a Lenovo ThinkPad laptop and running Windows Vista. Previously I could send and receive files between my phone and my laptop but now it won't work. Every time I select a file, right-click and select "Send to", and select "Bluetooth devices", the box appears but there's nothing there. Even if I turn my laptop's Bluetooth on, my phone can't find it and vice versa. What could be the problem and how can I fix this?

  • Off-the-shelf solutions for migrating data from azure blobstorage to rackspace cloud files

    - by S.C.
I have large amounts of data (500+ GB) stored in azure blob storage that I need to transfer to rackspace cloud files. I know it is possible to perform such a migration using the SDKs from both services, but is there a free, standard, 1-step process for doing this? I've built a POC utility but would like to avoid having to optimize it to perform the transfer within a reasonable amount of time. Thanks.
