• Importing CSV files into Excel using a macro

  I'm want to develop a macro where in my excel worksheet I type a date in a specific cell, and the macro will go into a folder containing text files. A database you could say. I want it to find the corresponding file name which is written as a date, put the data through a delimeter, and paste into the cells directly below where I orginally put the date. I'm very new with Macro's so if you must answer try to be a little more simple than you might usually be. Thanks In Advance if anyone can Help!! Update The folder will always be in the same place and the text files will all be formatted DD_MM_YYYY. • make "sort by" permanent for specific folder

  I have a folder where I store all my web icons in .png and .ico format. I set view to large icons and sort by to date modified -> descending. When I save new icons in this folder from web, I drag and drop them from browser (chrome) to the folder. The problem is after that the icons in the folder are not sorted by date modified descending any more... So how can I set any file or program or something that will set the sort by to date modified -> descending for that folder only each time I will access (open) the folder? I am using window 7 x64.

• Annotating Graphs From Textual Data

  I've got a graph that was generated from a data set that contains: (date, value, annotation) The annotation is a constant value [its either there or is blank] and I would like to add in the third bit of data into the graph I have. An example of this is in the image. The blue line is a graph of the (date, value) graph, and I would like to add in the red dots as graphing (date, annotation@value). Is there an easy way to do this in excel, without having to modify the appearance of the data?

  I was trying to install Zend Server CE on my computer but when I got to the point were I need to choose the port for my Web Server it says: "Web Server Port: 80 Occupied". So I decided to check what is using Port 80 with CMD by typing: "netstat -o -n -a | findstr 0.0:80": TCP 0.0.0.0:80 0.0.0.0:0 LISTENING 4 I check for PID:4 in Task Manager's Processes and Services. Seems PID 4 is "System". So, what I want to know is how can I stop "System" (PID:4) from using Port 80? INFO: I am using: Windows 7 64bit; Zend Server CE 5.5.0

• Using a time to set XY chart axis scaling like in 2003

  In Excel 2003, when you created a XY chart using time as an axis, you could set the scaling of these axes by typing in the date. In Excel 2007, you have to use the decimal version of the time (eg. How many days since some arbitrary earlier date). I was wondering if there was a way to avoid having to make such a calculation? A developer posted on a blog that this issue would be fixed in a future release, but all versions of Excel 2007 I have tried have not resolved this issue. The relevant quote: Those of you familiar with this technique of converting time to a decimal may recall that Excel 2003 allowed you to enter a date and time like “1/1/07 11:00 AM” directly in the axis option min/max fields and Excel would calculate the appropriate decimal representation. This currently does not work in Excel 2007 but will be fixed in a subsequent release.

• Can I group rows to get sum using excel

  I have a spreadsheet with 2 cols of importance. Date, and number. I can't always predict the number of rows or the date, but what I would like to do is print out the sum of the numbers for each date. For example, there might be 5 rows for Dec-7: 200, 111 and Dec-6: 222,533,100. I am tying to create a list which would show Dec-6: 855, Dec-7: 311. I believe a Pivot Table is what I want but I can't quite figure out how I need to configure it to show what I want. If anyone knows of a guide I could look at that would be fantastic!

• Setting up a server with only subdomains, any connection to top level goes to main server on another IP?

  I'm developing a web app where users will have their own sub-domain to login to and use the application. I'm running wordpress for the main website to manage the public / front end. Our application is developed in zend framework. The zf project is currently in a subfolder on the main server. I'd like to place the zend framework project onto another server (different IP) and keep it separate from the the wordpress front end www.domain.com site. The zf application server will run nginx. I'm not sure how to setup a server to run strictly sub domains. Setting up the virtual hosts in the configuration file is no problem. To give the users username.domain.com. But what about the main default configuration file? How would that be configured since the top level domain is technically another server (wordpress) on another IP?

• How to choose my own filename format for subscribed podcast files?

  I subscribe to several podcasts where the filenames of the downloaded mp3 files have no particular pattern to them. When I copy the directory of accumulated mp3 files into my mp3 player, the files play in alphabetical order. What I really want is to play the files chronologically by release date. I currently use iTunes on Windows XP to download the files. What I do now is manually rename the files, adding the date in YYYYMMDD format to the start of each filename so that an alphabetical listing of files will correspond to their chronological order when I listen to them later in PocketTunes on my Palm Centro. Is there some way to get the release date into the filename automatically? If so, I could automate or possibly skip the file renaming step. I would switch from iTunes to something else if that would solve my problem. The file creation time on my local disk isn't a reliable indicator because sometimes I download a few days worth of content at one time, and the files don't necessarily get downloaded in chronological order.

• Apache timeouts and error log

  I have an error whenever I run my code for a certain time. I use a lot of loops and sql connections. I basically, put and take out links from my database. The problem is that there is some error thrown that I cant see, whenever I execute a long sql operation .. Note that the fault isnt the code. The code runs well, whenever there are a few links involved. But when there are over 200 links.. an error is thrown that I cants see. I tried to trace the error in a few places: C:\Program Files\Zend\ZendServer\logs\php_error.log C:\Program Files\Zend\phpMyAdmin\config.inc.php Edit Viewer in win xp I am running XP: Windows xp php version: 5.3.9-ZS5.6.0. Apache/2.2.21 Apacher version: (Win32) mod_ssl/2.2.21 OpenSSL/0.9.8o I cant trace the error at all, and why it happens. All I can suspect of, is that there is a server timeout..

  Just when I thought I'd got the hang of the git checkout -b newbranch - commit/commit/commit - git checkout master - git merge newbranch - git rebase -i master - git push workflow in git, something blew up, and I can't see any reason for it. Here's the general workflow, which has worked for me in the past: # make sure I'm up to date on master: $ git checkout master $ git pull # k, no conflicts # start my new feature $ git checkout -b FEATURE9 # master @ 2f93e34 Switched to a new branch 'FEATURE9' ... work, commit, work, commit, work, commit... $ git commit -a $ git checkout master $ git merge FEATURE9 $ git rebase -i master # squash some of the FEATURE9 ugliness Ok so far; now what I expect to see -- and normally do see -- is this: $ git status # On branch master # Your branch is ahead of 'origin/master' by 1 commit. # nothing to commit (working directory clean) But instead, I only see "nothing to commit (working directory clean)", no "Your branch is ahead of 'origin/master' by 1 commit.", and git pull shows this weirdness: $ git pull From . # unexpected * branch master -> FETCH_HEAD # unexpected Already up-to-date. # expected And git branch -a -v shows this: $ git branch -a -v FEATURE9 3eaf059 started feature 9 * master 3eaf059 started feature 9 remotes/origin/HEAD -> origin/master remotes/origin/master 2f93e34 some boring previous commit # should=3eaf059 git branch clearly shows that I'm currently on * master, and git log clearly shows that master (local) is at 3eaf059, while remotes/origin/HEAD - remotes/origin/master is stuck back at the fork. Addendum: The title says "can't push", but there's no error message. In any event, I'm not sure if I should be using Commands here, or somehow tying events to the Rectangle in question, or if this is even possible. • Where to Store the Protection Trial Info for Software Protection Purpose

  It might be duplicate with other questions, but I swear that I googled a lot and search at StackOverflow.com a lot, and I cannot find the answer to my question: In a C#.Net application, where to store the protection trial info, such as Expiration Date, Number of Used Times? I understand that, all kinds of Software Protection strategies can be cracked by a sophiscated hacker (because they can almost always get around the expiration checking step). But what I'm now going to do is just to protect it in a reasonable manner that a "common"/"advanced" user cannot screw it up. OK, in order to proof that I have googled and searched a lot at StackOverflow.com, I'm listing all the possible strategies I got: 1. Registry Entry First, some users might not have the access to even read the Registry table. Second, if we put the Protection Trial Info in a Registry Entry, the user can always find it out where it is by comparing the differences before and after the software installation. They can just simply change it. OK, you might say that we should encrypt the Protection Trial Info, yes we can do that. But what if the user just change their system date before installing? OK, you might say that we should also put a last-used date, if something is wrong, the last-used date could work as a protection guide. But what if the user just uninstall the software and delete all Registry Entries related to this software, and then reinstall the software? I have no idea on how to deal with this. Please help. A Plain File First, there are some places to put the plain file: 2.a) a simple XML file under software installation path 2.b) configuration file Again, the user can just uninstall the software and remove these plain file(s), and reinstall the software. - The Software Itself If we put the protection trial info (Expiration Date, we cannot put Number of Used Times) in the software itself, it is still susceptible to the cases I mentioned above. Furthermore, it's not even cool to do so. - A Trial Product-Key It works like a licensing process, that is, we put the Trial info into an RSA-signed string. However, it requires too many steps for a user to have a try of using the software (they might lose patience): 4.a) The user downloads the software; 4.b) The user sends an email to request a Trial Product-Key by providing user name (or email) or hardware info; 4.c) The server receives the request, RSA-signs it and send back to the user; 4.d) The user can now use it under the condition of (Expiration Date & Number of Used Times). Now, the server has a record of the user's username or hardware info, so the user will be rejected to request a second trial. Is it legal to collection hardware info? In a word, the user has to do one more extra step (request a Trial Product Key) just for having a try of using the software, which is not cool (thinking myself as a user). NOTE: This question is not about the Licensing, instead, it's about where to store the TRIAL info. After the trial expires, the user should ask for a license (CD-Key/Product-Key). I'm going to use RSA signature (bound to User Hardware)

• Eclipse will not show 2.3 emulator for android compatibility package code

  I am trying to learn fragments to modernize an app I originally wrote for android 1.5 that uses Date Picker Dialog. I am using the android-support-v4 library. When I run the code in Eclipse Juno 20120614-1722 it only shows android 4.0 emulators and there is a red X beside my Samsung phone running 2.3.5. When I push the package to phone, the code runs.   Hi,In my richCalendar.jsp page, first time i click the showCurrentMonth button and display the current month using rich:calendar. i select some other month i click SelectedMonth button. I show the selected month name. My problem is : I go to any other page. then i come visit the richCalendar.jsp and again click showCurrentMonth button, this time the rich:calendar show the already selected month instead of current month . I've been stuck on this for days and no matter how I rework the ajax call, the json string, blah blah blah...I can NOT get this to work! I can't even get it to work as a function when adding one row of data manually. Can anyone PLEASE post a working sample of jqGrid that works with ASP.NET and JSON? Would you please include 2-3 fields (string, integer and date preferably?) I would be happy to see a working sample of jqGrid and just the manual addition of a JSON object using the addJSONData method. Thanks SO MUCH!! • SSIS – Delete all files except for the most recent one

  Quite often one or more sources for a data warehouse consist of flat files. Most of the times these files are delivered as a zip file with a date in the file name, for example FinanceDataExport_20100528.zip Currently I work at a project that does a full load into the data warehouse every night. A zip file with some flat files in it is dropped in a directory on a daily basis. Sometimes there are multiple zip files in the directory, this can happen because the ETL failed or somebody puts a new zip file in the directory manually. Because the ETL isn’t incremental only the most recent file needs to be loaded. To implement this I used the simple code below; it checks which file is the most recent and deletes all other files.
