For those of us who use standard shared hosting packages, such as GoDaddy or Network Solutions, how do you handle datetime conversions when your hosting server (PHP) and MySQL server are in different time zones?
Also, does anybody have some best practice advice for determining what time zone a visitor to your site is in and manipulating a datetime variable appropriately?
i need code to compare date in php
Input date should be a valid date
input date should not be less than the current date.

I have an application on my server that is called leaf.exe, that haves two arguments needed to run, they are: inputfile and outputfile, that will be like this example:
pnote.exe input.pnt output.txt
The executable is at exec/, inputfile is at upload/ and outputfile is on compiled/. But I need that a PHP could run the application like that, then I want to know:
How could I do this?
How could I echo the output of the program?
Hi guys,
Probably, this question has been asked before, though, I'll ask it again.
Currently, I'm facing a problem with form encoding. When posting my form, all spaces are replaced by the "+" character. I would like to replace this "+" character by a real space.
Does someone has a PHP solution for this?
Thanks in advance.
Cheers, Lennart

Looking around, there are plenty of options available for form management in PHP from several frameworks: Zend, CakePHP, CodeIgniter, Symphony, and probably several others offer solutions. All else being equal, which set of form classes do you prefer? What makes any of these better than the others?
I have been approached to create a website using Sabre Web Services to power the reservations system. All documentation I have seen refers to .NET or Java solutions, I was in doubt whether PHP can be used as access is performed using SOAP. I have found no further information about this, I assume the answer is yes, but wonder why there is not a single reference to this being possible - all solutions seem to be .NET
Any suggestions?
Thanks!
hello, i'd like to know if there is an editor that has php code completion and has a fullscreen (not the way komodo edit or notepad++ have) like gedit. I've been searching for some but couldn't find any :/

Hi,
I have a web on php5, iis6, and Oracle on windows server 2003.
I had Oracle 10.2.0.1.0 and deinstalled it. After that I installed earlier version (10.1.0) for cloning DB purposes, php doesn't work. As I understand it failes because of oci8.dll, but can't find the real problem.
Please, help.
I use this to pull values from a custom field with several values:
<?php $mykey_values = get_post_custom_values('services');
foreach ( $mykey_values as $key => $value ) {
echo "<li> $value</li>";
} ?>
I want to sort the output according to the way I have set up the values in the key (alphabetically)
In your opinion, which PHP CMS has the best architecture? I don't care about how easy its admin panel is to use, or how many CMS features it has. Right now, I'm after how good its code is (so, please, don't even mention Drupal or Wordpress /shudder). I want to know which ones have a good, solid, OOP codebase.
Please provide as much detail as you can in your replies.
Apache lets you set php.ini values for virtual hosts with the php_value directive.
Does nginx have something similar? Is there another way to set the include_path on a per-site basis?
Can anybody point me towards a PHP library or script that would allow me to split a pdf consisting of multiple pages into separate files, each containing 1 page. The PDFLib documentation doesn't appear to allow this and Google hasn't been particularly helpful.
I could possibly also use Perl, but it would be very inconvenient to do so.
Using PHP can you create a pseudo form submit without ever generating a form? Just initialize and declare variables and them pass them to another page via the POST or GET methods?
http://www.chuckecheese.com/rotator.php?cheese=4&id=1
I want to take out the id, leaving the cheese to stand alone. I tried:
$qs = preg_replace("[^&id=*]" ,'',$_SERVER[QUERY_STRING]);
But that said I was using an improper modifier. I want to remove "$id=" and whatever number comes after it. Are regexp really as hard as they seem for me?
Hey, I'm using php 5 and need to communicate with another server that runs completely in unicode. I need to convert every string to unicode before sending it over. This seems like an easy task, but I haven't been able to find a way to do it yet. Is there a simple function that returns a unicode string? i.e. convert_to_unicode("the string i'm sending")
I'm developing a simple web application where in I need to display number a to my users in string format.
Example:
12 - One Two or Twelve
-20 - minus Two zero or minus twenty
Either way is fine. I need this to be done in PHP. Any help will be appreciated.

Hi, I'm just wondering how I could remove everything after a certain substring in PHP
ex:
Posted On April 6th By Some Dude
I'd like to have it so that it removes all the text including, and after, the sub string "By"
Thanks
I want to make a little php poll. The script should ask the users a question they can only answer by numbers from 0-999. After pressing the submit button the data should be stored into mysql. So I just want to know how much users choosed the same number (in percent). It's a simple poll but I don't want any output to be shown.
