  • C# unit test code questions

    - by 5YrsLaterDBA
We start use C# build-in unit test functionality. I have VisualStudio 2008 created unit test code for me. I have few question above the generated code. Following are code I copied from the generated file: #region Additional test attributes // //You can use the following additional attributes as you write your tests: // //Use ClassInitialize to run code before running the first test in the class //[ClassInitialize()] //public static void MyClassInitialize(TestContext testContext) //{ //} // //Use ClassCleanup to run code after all tests in a class have run //[ClassCleanup()] //public static void MyClassCleanup() //{ //} // //Use TestInitialize to run code before running each test //[TestInitialize()] //public void MyTestInitialize() //{ //} // //Use TestCleanup to run code after each test has run //[TestCleanup()] //public void MyTestCleanup() //{ //} // #endregion If I need the initialize and cleanup methods, do I need to remove those "My" from the method name when I enable them? //Use ClassInitialize to run code before running the first test in the class //[ClassInitialize()] //public static void MyClassInitialize(TestContext testContext) //{ //} Do I need to call the "MyClassInitialize" method somewhere before running the first test or it will be called automatically before other methods are called. Similar questions for other three methods, are they called automatically at right time frame?

  • What is the right license for tutorial source code ?

    - by devdude
Putting sourcecode from tutorials or books online requires the author to add some kind of disclaimer or license (otherwise people would use it make lots of $$$ or break a power plant IT control system and sue you as author). But what is the right license or disclaimer statement ? Can I use BSD license with ... IN NO EVENT SHALL THE COPYRIGHT HOLDER OR CONTRIBUTORS BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES (INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, PROCUREMENT OF SUBSTITUTE GOODS OR SERVICES; LOSS OF USE, DATA,... We are talking about tutorials ! Released to teach and share knowledge. Or do I need to follow the (potentially different) licenses of the libraries I use ? Might be insignificant now but I feel we will face a license hunt in "public" sourcecode (aka OSS) in future, similar to companies/lawyers currently crawling the web for pictures with wrong copyright statement or infringing their IP (and suing someone using a picture in a personal blog,etc..).

  • OpenCMS - Search field of custom bean

    - by Luigi 1982
Hi at all... I make some beans with information from VFS of OpenCMS. I want to make searchable the data of my beans. I follow this step but without success: 1) Extends my bean class with CmsSearch and ovverride init method. After I make some stuff for the constructor of my bean: /* Some stuff for CMSSearch */ /** Constant for the fields we will search */ static final String[] DOC_QRY_FIELDS = new String[] {"oggettoDocumento","dataPubblicazione", "societa"}; /** The names of our search index files */ static final String OFFLINE_INDEX = "all_bacheca"; static final String ONLINE_INDEX = "all_bacheca"; public DocumentBean(){ super(); m_parameters.setSort(CmsSearchParameters.SORT_DEFAULT); m_parameters.setFields(Arrays.asList(DocumentBean.DOC_QRY_FIELDS)); m_parameters.setIndex(ONLINE_INDEX); m_parameters.setMatchesPerPage(20); } public void init(CmsObject cms) { super.init(cms); // set search index to offline or online based on current //user project if (cms.getRequestContext().currentProject().isOnlineProject()) { m_parameters.setIndex(ONLINE_INDEX); } else { m_parameters.setIndex(OFFLINE_INDEX); } } // getters and setters.. 2) Configure a new DocumentField with the new field 3) Adding code to my jsp: <input type="hidden" name="field" value="oggettoDocumento"/> But nothing... How can I perform the custom bean search? I can't find any document.. If anyone know some info, basic.. is good for me.. Thanks!

  • OpenMP timer doesn't work on inline assembly code?

    - by Brett
I'm trying to compare some code samples for speed, and I decided to use the OpenMP timer since I'll eventually be multi threading the code. The timer works great on two of my four code snippets, but not on the other two start=omp_get_wtime(); /*code here*/ finish = omp_get_wtime() - start_time; The four code here sections are serial code, xmmintrin.h code, and two inline assembly codes. The serial and xmminstrin.h code are able to be timed, but the inline assembly codes returns -1.#IND00 for a time. I can't seem to figure out why this is? Thanks for any help or suggestions!

  • MS Dynamics CRM trapping .NET error before I can handle it

    - by clifgriffin
This is a fun one. I have written a custom search page that provides faster, more user friendly searches than the default Contacts view and also allows searching of Leads and Contacts simultaneously. It uses GridViews bound to SqlDataSources that query filtered views. I'm sure someone will complain that I'm not using the web services for this, but this is just the design decision we made. These GridViews live in UpdatePanels to enable very slick AJAX updates upon search. It's all working great. Nearly ready to be deployed, except for one thing: Some long running searches are triggering an uncatchable SQL timeout exception. [SqlException: Timeout expired. The timeout period elapsed prior to completion of the operation or the server is not responding.] at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlConnection.OnError(SqlException exception, Boolean breakConnection) at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlInternalConnection.OnError(SqlException exception, Boolean breakConnection) at System.Data.SqlClient.TdsParser.ThrowExceptionAndWarning(TdsParserStateObject stateObj) at System.Data.SqlClient.TdsParser.Run(RunBehavior runBehavior, SqlCommand cmdHandler, SqlDataReader dataStream, BulkCopySimpleResultSet bulkCopyHandler, TdsParserStateObject stateObj) at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlDataReader.ConsumeMetaData() at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlDataReader.get_MetaData() at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlCommand.FinishExecuteReader(SqlDataReader ds, RunBehavior runBehavior, String resetOptionsString) at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlCommand.RunExecuteReaderTds(CommandBehavior cmdBehavior, RunBehavior runBehavior, Boolean returnStream, Boolean async) at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlCommand.RunExecuteReader(CommandBehavior cmdBehavior, RunBehavior runBehavior, Boolean returnStream, String method, DbAsyncResult result) at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlCommand.RunExecuteReader(CommandBehavior cmdBehavior, RunBehavior runBehavior, Boolean returnStream, String method) at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlCommand.ExecuteReader(CommandBehavior behavior, String method) at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlCommand.ExecuteDbDataReader(CommandBehavior behavior) at System.Data.Common.DbCommand.System.Data.IDbCommand.ExecuteReader(CommandBehavior behavior) at System.Data.Common.DbDataAdapter.FillInternal(DataSet dataset, DataTable[] datatables, Int32 startRecord, Int32 maxRecords, String srcTable, IDbCommand command, CommandBehavior behavior) at System.Data.Common.DbDataAdapter.Fill(DataSet dataSet, Int32 startRecord, Int32 maxRecords, String srcTable, IDbCommand command, CommandBehavior behavior) at System.Data.Common.DbDataAdapter.Fill(DataSet dataSet, String srcTable) at System.Web.UI.WebControls.SqlDataSourceView.ExecuteSelect(DataSourceSelectArguments arguments) at System.Web.UI.DataSourceView.Select(DataSourceSelectArguments arguments, DataSourceViewSelectCallback callback) at System.Web.UI.WebControls.DataBoundControl.PerformSelect() at System.Web.UI.WebControls.BaseDataBoundControl.DataBind() at System.Web.UI.WebControls.GridView.DataBind() at System.Web.UI.WebControls.BaseDataBoundControl.EnsureDataBound() at System.Web.UI.WebControls.CompositeDataBoundControl.CreateChildControls() at System.Web.UI.Control.EnsureChildControls() at System.Web.UI.Control.PreRenderRecursiveInternal() at System.Web.UI.Control.PreRenderRecursiveInternal() at System.Web.UI.Control.PreRenderRecursiveInternal() at System.Web.UI.Control.PreRenderRecursiveInternal() at System.Web.UI.Control.PreRenderRecursiveInternal() at System.Web.UI.Page.ProcessRequestMain(Boolean includeStagesBeforeAsyncPoint, Boolean includeStagesAfterAsyncPoint) I found that CRM is doing a server.transfer to capture this error because my UpdatePanels started throwing JavaSript errors when this error would occur. I was only able to get the full error message by using the JavaScript debugger in IE. Having found this error, I thought the solution would be simple. I just needed to wrap my databind calls in try/catch blocks to capture any errors. Unfortunately it seems CRM's IIS configuration has the magic ability to capture this error before it ever gets back to my code. Using the debugger I never see it. It never gets to my catch blocks, but it's clearly happening in the SQL Data Source which is clearly (by the stack trace) being triggered by my GridView bind. Any ideas on this? It's driving me crazy. • remote debug unmanaged code

    - by sagie
Hi. I have a process that contains C# code, C++\CLI code and native c++ code. Now, I'm trying to remote debug my process, and I can go to the statements of my C# code and my C++\CLI code, but I can't reach my native code. When I try to hit a breakpoint in my native c++ source file, I get the "No symbole have been loaded" error. I tried to manualy load the symboles (tools-options-debugging), but no luck. Any Idea?

  • Are there commercially deployed and used .NET CAS (Code Access Security) based applications?

    - by Dinis Cruz
I've seen a couple threads here on SO that ask about what CAS is and how to use it.My specific is specifically focused on real-world usages of CAS. For example: DotNetNuke did some efforts in the past to be able to run under Medium Trust: is that still true? what is the % of DNN that run in partial trust (i.e. not full trust)? what & of DNN modules run in partial trust?) Sharepoint defaults to a Partially-Trusted environment on dlls executed from the bin folder: How many 'commercially' available WebParts can run in this bin folder (without changing the policy)? The key here is to be able to point to CAS success stories, so that other companies feel that they should also invest in writing CAS-enabled apps

  • Improving SQL Code

    - by jeremib
    I'm using Pervasive SQL. I have the following UNION of mulitple SQL statements. Is there a way to clean this up, especially the Pay Date an the Loc No fields that are selected in each statement. Is there a way to pull this out and have only one place to need to change those two fields? ( SELECT '23400' as Gl_Number, y.Plan as Description, 0 as Hours, ROUND(SUM(Ee_Curr),2) as Debit, 0 as Credit FROM "PR_YLOC" y LEFT JOIN PR_SUMM s ON (s.Summ_No = y.Summ_No) WHERE y.Loc_No = 1041 AND s.Pay_Date = '2010-04-02' AND y.Code IN (100, 105, 110) AND y.Type = 3 GROUP BY y.Plan ) UNION ( SELECT '72000' as Gl_Number, y.Plan, 0, ROUND(SUM(Er_Curr),2), 0 FROM "PR_YLOC" y LEFT JOIN PR_SUMM s ON (s.Summ_No = y.Summ_No) WHERE y.Loc_No = 1041 AND s.Pay_Date = '2010-04-02' AND y.Code IN (100, 105, 110) AND y.Type = 3 GROUP BY y.Plan ) UNION ( SELECT '24800', c.Plan, 0, ROUND(SUM(Ee_Amt),2), 0 FROM "PR_CDED" c WHERE Pay_Date = '2010-04-02' AND Loc_No = 1041 AND Code = 100 GROUP BY c.Plan ) UNION ( SELECT '24800', c.Plan, 0, 0, ROUND(SUM(Ee_Amt),2) FROM "PR_CDED" c WHERE Pay_Date = '2010-04-02' AND Loc_No = 1041 AND Code = 115 GROUP BY c.Plan ) UNION ( SELECT '24150', c.Plan, 0, 0, ROUND(SUM(Ee_Amt),2) FROM "PR_CDED" c WHERE Pay_Date = '2010-04-02' AND Loc_No = 1041 AND Code = 241 GROUP BY c.Plan ) UNION ( SELECT '24150', c.Plan, 0, ROUND(SUM(Ee_Amt),2), 0 FROM "PR_CDED" c WHERE Pay_Date = '2010-04-02' AND Loc_No = 1041 AND Code = 239 GROUP BY c.Plan ) UNION ( SELECT '24120', c.Plan, 0, ROUND(SUM(Ee_Amt),2), 0 FROM "PR_CDED" c WHERE Pay_Date = '2010-04-02' AND Loc_No = 1041 AND Code = 230 GROUP BY c.Plan ) UNION ( SELECT '24100', c.Plan, 0, ROUND(SUM(Ee_Amt),2), 0 FROM "PR_CDED" c WHERE Pay_Date = '2010-04-02' AND Loc_No = 1041 AND Code = 225 GROUP BY c.Plan ) UNION ( SELECT '23800', c.Plan, 0, ROUND(SUM(Ee_Amt),2), 0 FROM "PR_CDED" c WHERE Pay_Date = '2010-04-02' AND Loc_No = 1041 AND Code = 245 GROUP BY c.Plan ) UNION ( select m.Def_Dept as Gl_Number, t.Short_Desc, (SELECT SUM(Hours) FROM pr_earn en WHERE en.Loc_No = e.Loc_No AND en.Emp_No = e.Emp_No AND en.Pay_Date = e.Pay_Date AND en.Pay_Code = e.Pay_Code) as Hours, (SELECT SUM(Pay_Amt) FROM pr_earn en WHERE en.Loc_No = e.Loc_No AND en.Emp_No = e.Emp_No AND en.Pay_Date = e.Pay_Date AND en.Pay_Code = e.Pay_Code) as Debit, 0 from pr_earn e left join pr_mast m on (e.Loc_No = m.Loc_No and e.Emp_No = m.Emp_No) left join pr_ptype t ON (t.Code = e.Pay_Code) where e.loc_no = 1041 and e.pay_date = '2010-04-02' group by m.Def_Dept, t.Short_Desc ) Thanks

  • Difference between KeywordQuery, FullTextQuerySearch type for Object Model and Web service Query

    - by Raghu
Initially I believed these 3 to be doing more or less the same thing with just the notation being different. Until recently, when i noticed that their does exists a big difference between the results of the KeyWordQuery/FullTextQuerySearch and Web service Query. I used both KeywordQuery and FullText method to search of the the value of a customColumn XYZ with value (ASDSADA-21312ASD-ASDASD):- When I run this query as:- FullTextSqlQuery:- FullTextSqlQuery myQuery = new FullTextSqlQuery(site); { // Construct query text String queryText = "Select title, path, author, isdocument from scope() where freetext('ASDSADA-21312ASD-ASDASD') "; myQuery.QueryText = queryText; myQuery.ResultTypes = ResultType.RelevantResults; }; // execute the query and load the results into a datatable ResultTableCollection queryResults = myQuery.Execute(); ResultTable resultTable = queryResults[ResultType.RelevantResults]; // Load table with results DataTable queryDataTable = new DataTable(); queryDataTable.Load(resultTable, LoadOption.OverwriteChanges); I get the following result representing the document. * Title: TestPDF * path: http://SharepointServer/Shared Documents/Forms/DispForm.aspx?ID=94 * author: null * isDocument: false Do note the Path and isDocument fields of the above result. Web Service Method Then I tried a Web Service Query method. I used Sharepoint Search Service Tool available at http://sharepointsearchserv.codeplex.com/ and ran the same query i.e. Select title, path, author, isdocument from scope() where freetext('ASDSADA-21312ASD-ASDASD'). This time I got the following results:- * Title: TestPDF * path: http://SharepointServer/Shared Documents/TestPDF.pdf * author: null * isDocument: true Again note the path. While the search results from 2nd method are useful as they provide me the file path exactly, I can't seem to understand why is the method 1 not giving me the same results? Why is there a discrepancy between the two results?

  • How do you code up a pattern matching code block in scala?

How do you code a function that takes in a block of code as a parameter that contains case statements? For instance, in my block of code, I don't want to do a match or a default case explicitly. I am looking something like this myApi { case Whatever() => // code for case 1 case SomethingElse() => // code for case 2 } And inside of my myApi(), it'll actually execute the code block and do the matches. Help?

  • I'm trying to use a regular expression to retrieve text from RichTextBox

    - by Simon
Hello! As the header is implying I'm trying to retrieve a certain line of numbers from a richtextbox and then put it into a separate textbox. I've tried this code below but it doesn't wanna work with me. It's probably way wrong and there's probably easier ways of doing it but I'm quite new to this stuff and I would appreciate all the help I can get in this matter. I have a textbox called tbPersNr; A RichTextBox called tbText; A button which is called btnGet; string regPattern = @"\\d{6}-\\d{4}"; int indexOfSearch = 0; private void btnGet_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { int startIndex = 0; if (tbText.Text.Length > 0) { startIndex = HittaPersNr(regPattern, startIndex, tbText.Text.Length); } if (startIndex > 0) { this.tbPersNr.Text = regPattern.ToString(); } } public int HittaPersNr(string txtToSearch, int searchStart, int searchEnd) { // Setting default value to -1. int retVal = -1; // Validating start of the search // om indexOfSearch = -1, slutar sökningen if (searchStart >= 0 && indexOfSearch >= 0) { // Validating end of search if (searchEnd > searchStart || searchEnd == -1) { // Searching for results in richtextbox indexOfSearch = tbText.Find(regPattern, searchStart, searchEnd, RichTextBoxFinds.None); // Validating if search resulted in any finds. if (indexOfSearch != -1) { // putting index to value in the text. retVal = indexOfSearch; } } } return retVal; } } } Cheers

  • Binding search results to data grid

    - by Abid
    I want to add search functionality to my program. There's a class which has this function: public DataTable Search() { string SQL = "Select * from Customer where " + mField + " like '%" + mValue + "%'"; DataTable dt = new DataTable(); dt = dm.GetData(SQL); return (dt); } There are setter and getter properties for mField and mValue. DM is the object of class DataManagement, which has a method GetData: public DataTable GetData(string SQL) { SqlCommand command = new SqlCommand(); SqlDataAdapter dbAdapter = new SqlDataAdapter(); DataTable DataTable = new DataTable(); command.Connection = clsConnection.GetConnection(); command.CommandText = SQL; dbAdapter.SelectCommand = command; dbAdapter.Fill(DataTable); return (DataTable); } The search functionality is currently implemented like this: private void btnfind_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { //cust is the object of class customer// if (tbCustName.Text != "") { cust.Field="CustName"; cust.Value = tbCustName.Text; } else if (tbAddress.Text != "") { cust.Value = tbAddress.Text; cust.Field="Address"; } else if (tbEmail.Text != "") { cust.Value = tbEmail.Text; cust.Field="Email"; } else if (tbCell.Text != "") { cust.Value = tbCell.Text; cust.Field = "Cell"; } DataTable dt = new DataTable(); dt = cust.Search(); dgCustomer.DataSource = dt; RefreshGrid(); } private void RefreshGrid() { DataTable dt = new DataTable(); dt = cust.GetCustomers(); dgCustomer.DataSource = dt; } This is not working. I don't know why. Please help.

  • Search function on listview

    - by Luke
Is it possible to search a listview and restrict the items in the listview by the search criteria? private void displayDeliveries() { lstDeliveryDetails.Items.Clear(); foreach (Delivery d in mainForm.myDeliveries) { ListViewItem item = lstDeliveryDetails.Items.Add(d.DeliveryName); item.SubItems.Add(d.DeliveryAddress); item.SubItems.Add(d.DeliveryDay); item.SubItems.Add(d.DeliveryTime); item.SubItems.Add(d.DeliveryMeal); item.SubItems.Add(d.DeliveryInstructions); item.SubItems.Add(d.DeliveryStatus); } } At the moment that code populates the listview. private void btnSearch_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { //reset the selection and get the searched text iDeliverySelected = -1; string searchValue = txtSearchBox.Text; //loop through to find the search for (int i = 0; i < myDeliveries.Count; i++) { Delivery d = (Delivery)mainForm.myDeliveries[i]; if (d.DeliveryName == searchValue) MessageBox.Show("name matched"); } } So far this is what I have for search, I'm struggling to take it to the next level! Could anyone offer an ideas? Thanks

    How do you folks retrieve all objects in code upfront? I figure you can increase performance if you bundle all the model calls together? This makes for a bigger deal, especially if your DB cannot keep everything in memory def hitDBSeperately { get X users ...code get Y users... code get Z users... code } Versus: def hitDBInSingleCall { get X+Y+Z users code for X code for Y... }

  • Code First / Database First / Model First : are they just personnal preferences?

    - by Antoine M
Merely knowing the internal functionality of each approaches, and after reading a lot of posts, I still can't figure out if each one of them is just a matter of personnal preference for the developper or if they deserve different axes of productivity ? Does one of them should be applyed for some specific productivity needs or MS is just beeing kind offering three different flavours ? Should we consider CF as a sort of improvement over DBF or MF and thinking of it as a futur standard on wich spending a peculiar intelectual investment ... ? Is there a link showing a sort of synthetic table with un-passionate pros and cons for each approach, a little bit like for web-forms and MVC. Sorry for those who will find this question redondant. I know it is.

  • How to avoid Eclipse warnings when using legacy code without generics?

    - by Paul Crowley
I'm using JSON.simple to generate JSON output from Java. But every time I call jsonobj.put("this", "that"), I see a warning in Eclipse: Type safety: The method put(Object, Object) belongs to the raw type HashMap. References to generic type HashMap should be parameterized The clean fix would be if JSONObject were genericized, but since it isn't, I can't add any generic type parameters to fix this. I'd like to switch off as few warnings as possible, so adding "@SuppressWarnings("unchecked")" to lots of methods is unappealing, but do I have any other option besides putting up with the warnings?

    - by acidzombie24
With LLVM and silverlight this may be possible now (or it may be possible with flash). I like the user to select a file and then do the following things 1) Hash it with md5 and sha1 2) If archive check if an exe is in it 3) If archive check if password protected The first to see if the user has uploaded it already (today, yesterday, last month) 2nd to prevent viruses 3rd i should be fine without but if i decide to not allow protected archives i can warn before the user uploads it. How may i do this through the browser?

  • [CODE GENERATION] How to generate DELETE statements in PL/SQL, based on the tables FK relations?

    - by The chicken in the kitchen
Is it possible via script/tool to generate authomatically many delete statements based on the tables fk relations, using Oracle PL/SQL? In example: I have the table: CHICKEN (CHICKEN_CODE NUMBER) and there are 30 tables with fk references to its CHICKEN_CODE that I need to delete; there are also other 150 tables foreign-key-linked to that 30 tables that I need to delete first. Is there some tool/script PL/SQL that I can run in order to generate all the necessary delete statements based on the FK relations for me? (by the way, I know about cascade delete on the relations, but please pay attention: I CAN'T USE IT IN MY PRODUCTION DATABASE, because it's dangerous!) I'm using Oracle DataBase 10G R2. This is the result I've written, but it is not recursive: This is a view I have previously written, but of course it is not recursive! CREATE OR REPLACE FORCE VIEW RUN ( OWNER_1, CONSTRAINT_NAME_1, TABLE_NAME_1, TABLE_NAME, VINCOLO ) AS SELECT OWNER_1, CONSTRAINT_NAME_1, TABLE_NAME_1, TABLE_NAME, '(' || LTRIM ( EXTRACT (XMLAGG (XMLELEMENT ("x", ',' || COLUMN_NAME)), '/x/text()'), ',') || ')' VINCOLO FROM ( SELECT CON1.OWNER OWNER_1, CON1.TABLE_NAME TABLE_NAME_1, CON1.CONSTRAINT_NAME CONSTRAINT_NAME_1, CON1.DELETE_RULE, CON1.STATUS, CON.TABLE_NAME, CON.CONSTRAINT_NAME, COL.POSITION, COL.COLUMN_NAME FROM DBA_CONSTRAINTS CON, DBA_CONS_COLUMNS COL, DBA_CONSTRAINTS CON1 WHERE CON.OWNER = 'TABLE_OWNER' AND CON.TABLE_NAME = 'TABLE_OWNED' AND ( (CON.CONSTRAINT_TYPE = 'P') OR (CON.CONSTRAINT_TYPE = 'U')) AND COL.TABLE_NAME = CON1.TABLE_NAME AND COL.CONSTRAINT_NAME = CON1.CONSTRAINT_NAME --AND CON1.OWNER = CON.OWNER AND CON1.R_CONSTRAINT_NAME = CON.CONSTRAINT_NAME AND CON1.CONSTRAINT_TYPE = 'R' GROUP BY CON1.OWNER, CON1.TABLE_NAME, CON1.CONSTRAINT_NAME, CON1.DELETE_RULE, CON1.STATUS, CON.TABLE_NAME, CON.CONSTRAINT_NAME, COL.POSITION, COL.COLUMN_NAME) GROUP BY OWNER_1, CONSTRAINT_NAME_1, TABLE_NAME_1, TABLE_NAME; ... and it contains the error of using DBA_CONSTRAINTS instead of ALL_CONSTRAINTS...

  • Cakephp Search Plugin: DateTime Range

    - by Chris
I am trying to search a model by dates using the CakePHP Search plugin The idea is: The user enters a date of a flight and the engine returns all flights within +- one day of that. My form: <?php echo $form->create('Flight', array( 'url' => array_merge(array('action' => 'find'), $this->params['pass']) )); echo $form->input('departure', array('div' => false, 'dateFormat' => 'DMY','timeFormat' => 'NONE')); echo $form->submit(__('Search', true), array('div' => false)); echo $form->end(); ?> My flight model: public $filterArgs = array( array('name' => 'departure', 'type' => 'expression', 'method' => 'makeRangeCondition', 'field' => 'ABS((TO_Days(Flight.departure))-( TO_Days(?))) < 2') ); The controller: public $presetVars = array( array('field' => 'departure', 'type' => 'expression') ); public function find() { $this->Prg->commonProcess(); $this->paginate['conditions'] = $this->Flight->parseCriteria($this->passedArgs); $this->set('flights', $this->paginate()); } When I try to search, the values for departure are packed in an array; Array ([departure] => Array ) And the filterArgs(...) function doesn't seem to understand this. What is the correct way to do this?

  • Versioning code in two separate projects concurently with subverison

    - by Matt1776
I have a need to create a library of Object Oriented PHP code that will see much reuse and aspires to be highly flexible and modular. Because of its independent nature I would like it to exist as its own SVN project. I would like to be able to create a new web project, save it in SVN as its own separate project, and include within it the library project code as well. During this process, while coding the web application code and making commits, I may need to add a class to the library. I would like to be able to do so and commit those changes back to the libraries project code. In light of all this I could manage the code in two ways Commit the changes to the library back to a branch of its original base project code and make the branch name relevant to the web project I was using it with Commit the changes to the library back to the original code, growing it in size regardless of any specific references that might exist. I have two questions How can I include this library project code into a new project yet not break the subversion functionality, i.e. allowing me to make changes to each project individually? How I can keep the code synchronized? If I choose the first method of managing the library code I may want to grab changes from another branch and pull it in for use in another.
