  • Use to host email for a domain name that wasn't our primary domain name

    - by drpcken
Exchange 2007 on an Server 2003 active directory. My primary domain (MyMainDomain.com) controller also hosts dns and dhcp. I have a secondary domain name (MySecondDomain.net) that my Exchange Server allows emails from. It wasn't a physical domain, just accepted by exchange and setup as the Active Directory user's main smtp and outgoing address. Its MX records point to MyMainDomain.com's public exchange address. I've taken MySecondDomain.net and move the mail boxes to a hosted exchange 2010 environment. MX records now point to this new exchange system and when I send and email OUTSIDE the MyMainDomain.com environment (say gmail) it works and sends to the hosted exchange setup for MySecondDomain.net. however when I send an email from a user on MyMainDomain.com, it goes to the old exchange 2007 server I am hosting internally. I have removed MySecondDomain.net from the allowed domains, removed the DNS zone for MySecondDomain.net, and cleared DNS cache. I was convinced it was my internal dns server but I've cleared the DNS cache. Is there something I'm missing somewhere in exchange 2007? Or is it my domain controller/dns? Sorry if this is confusing. Thank you!

  • can't get php mail() working on Ubuntu desktop version with sendmail and postfix

    - by user36428
    I'm running Ubuntu 9.10 LAMP and trying to do a simple email test with PHP and I'm not getting any emails sent. mail("[email protected]", "eric-linux test", "test") or die("can't send mail"); I get no errors from PHP when running that script. In my php.ini file is: sendmail_path = /usr/lib/sendmail -t -i $ sudo ps aux | grep sendmail eric 2486 0.0 0.4 8368 2344 pts/0 T 14:52 0:00 sendmail -s “Hello world” [email protected] eric 8747 0.0 0.3 5692 1616 pts/2 T 16:18 0:00 sendmail eric 8749 0.0 0.3 5692 1636 pts/2 T 16:18 0:00 sendmail start eric 9190 0.0 0.3 5692 1636 pts/2 T 19:12 0:00 sendmail start eric 9192 0.0 0.3 5692 1616 pts/2 T 19:12 0:00 sendmail eric 9425 0.0 0.3 5692 1620 pts/1 T 19:37 0:00 sendmail eric 9427 0.0 0.3 6584 1636 pts/1 T 19:37 0:00 sendmail restart eric 9429 0.0 0.3 5692 1636 pts/1 T 19:38 0:00 /usr/lib/sendmail restart eric 9432 0.0 0.1 3040 804 pts/1 R+ 19:38 0:00 grep --color=auto sendmail When I run $ sendmail start it just hangs there doing nothing. • Project and Business Document Organization

    - by dassouki
How do you organize, maintain edits, revisions and the relationship between: Proposals Contracts Change Orders Deliverables Projects How do you organize your projects for re-usability? For example, is there a way to add tags to projects, to make them more accessible? What's a good data structure to dump all my files on an internet server for easy access? Presently, my work folder is setup as follows: (1)/work/ (2)/projects (3)/project_a (4)/final (which includes all final documents) (5)/contracts (5)/rfp_rfq (5)/change_orders (5)/communications (logs all emails, faxes, and meeting notes and minutes) (5)/financial (6)/paid (6)/unpaid (5)/reports (4)/old (include all documents that didn't make it into the project_a/final/ (3)/project_b (4) ... same as above ... (2)/references (3)/technical_references (3)/gov_regulations (3)/data_sources (3)/books (3)/topic_based (each area of my expertise has a folder with references in them) (2)/business_contacts (3)/contacts.xls (file contains all my contacts) (2)/banking (3)/banking.xls (contains a list of all paid and unpaid invoices as well as some cool stats) (3)/quicken (to do my taxes and yada yada) (4)/year (2)/education (courses I've taken (3)/webinars (3)/seminars (3)/online_courses (2)/publications (includes the publications I've made (3)/publication_id We're mostly 5 people working together part-time on this thing. Since this is a very structured approach, I find it really difficult to remember what I've done on previous projects and go back and forth easily. What are your suggestions on improving my processes? I'm open to closed and open source software (as long as the price isn't too high). I also want to implement a system where I can save most of the projects online to increase collaboration and efficiency and reduce bandwidth especially on document editing. Imagine emailing a document back and forth 5-10 times a day.

  • Importing csv list of contacts into Exchange 2007 GAL and create Distribution Group

    - by Ken Ray
Here's the situation: We have a list of about 1,000 contacts (Lawyers in the area our court serves) with name and email address. I've been asked to create an email distribution list that can be used to sent emails to all of the external users on that list. I've seen various articles using the Exchange Management Shell and the Import-csv command piped through a ForEach-Object to a New-MailContact to set up the contacts. However, Exchange Management Shell is rather unhelpful, and it isn't working. What I believe I need to do is: 1) Set up a new distribution group using the Exchange Management Console. Let's say this new distribution group (which appears in the list of Distribution Groups under Recipient Configuration) is called "FloridaBar". 2) Make sure I have a csv file of the information I want to import. 3) Open Exchange Management Shell, and enter the following command: Import-csv C:\filename.csv | ForEach-Object { New-MailContact -Name $."NameColumnName" -ExternalEmailAddress $."EmailAddressColumn" -org FloridaBar Now, creating 1,000+ contacts in active directory - I assume that shouldn't be an issue. Do I have the "-org" parm wrong? Do I need to spell out the complete organization unit name (my.domain.name/Users/FloridaBar)? Is there a better way of doing this? Thanks in advance Ken

  • NOQUEUE: SYSERR(root): opendaemonsocket: daemon MTA-v4: cannot bind: Address already in use

    - by Francesco
I have an issue with sendmail on my server (ubuntu 12.10) with php, mysql, and wordpress installed. Basically I want to create a contact form in my blog to receive emails from visitors directly into my gmail account but it doest work! The /var/log/mail.log says: NOQUEUE: SYSERR(root): opendaemonsocket: daemon MTA-v4: cannot bind: Address already in use What do i do wrong? Where do I need to check? What info do you need more? I checked also into the spam folder, nothing. Thank you!

  • Sendmail in Nexenta core 3.0.1

    - by maximdim
I'm trying to setup sendmail in Nexenta core 3.0.1 (Solaris based OS). All I want is to be able to send emails from that host - like notifications about failures, cron jobs output etc. Initially Nexenta core doesn't have sendmail so here is what I've done: apt-get install sunwsndmu Now there is a sendmail in /usr/sbin/sendmail. When I try to send email from command line: $mail maxim test . It doesn't give me any error but in log file I see: Dec 20 12:41:08 nas sendmail[12295]: [ID 801593 mail.info] oBKHf8u7012295: from=maxim, size=107, class=0, nrcpts=1, msgid=<201012201741.oBKHf8u7012295@nas>, relay=maxim@localhost Dec 20 12:41:08 nas sendmail[12295]: [ID 801593 mail.info] oBKHf8u7012295: to=maxim, ctladdr=maxim (1000/10), delay=00:00:00, xdelay=00:00:00, mailer=relay, pri=30107, relay=[127.0.0.1] [127.0.0.1], dsn=4.0.0, stat=Deferred: Connection refused by [127.0.0.1] So I guess I need to have SMTP service running. How do I do that in Nexenta? svcs -a | grep sendmail doesn't return anything and # svcadm enable sendmail svcadm: Pattern 'sendmail' doesn't match any instances I'm not married to sendmail so if there are easier ways to achieve y goal I'm open to suggestions as well. Thanks,

  • amavisd + postfix + dovecot blocks gif images

    - by David W
I occasionally have a client who tries to email me and says his email gets blocked by my server. When I check the logs, I see this: Sep 6 18:12:52 myers amavis[15197]: (15197-08) p.path BANNED:1 [email protected]: "P=p003,L=1,M=multipart/mixed | P=p002,L=1/2,M=application/ms-tnef,T=tnef,N=winmail.dat | P=p004,L=1/2/1,T=image,T=gif,N=image001.gif,N=image001.gif", matching_key="(?-xism:^\\.(exe|lha|tnef|cab|dll)$)" And then a little later... Sep 6 18:12:58 myers amavis[15197]: (15197-08) Blocked BANNED (.image,.gif,image001.gif,image001.gif), [213.199.154.205] [157.56.236.229] <[email protected]> - > <[email protected]>, quarantine: banned-g4QhZGvwJvDF, Message-ID <6A9596BE385EC1499F83E464FA9ECCA20C668320@BY2PRD0611MB417.namprd06.prod.outlook.com>, mail_id: g4QhZGvwJvDF, Hits: -, size: 20916, 8439 ms From this and the bounce that he forwards me (to a different address I give him), I determine that its bouncing because of the file in his signature (image001.gif). However, that does NOT match the "key" in this part of the log: matching_key="(?-xism:^\\.(exe|lha|tnef|cab|dll)$)" Furthermore, the .gif extension is nowhere to be found in the /etc/amavisd.conf file (i.e. I'm not blocking emails because they contain .gif images). Am I missing something here? This is strange... and annoying.

  • Speeding up Outlook Express on Windows XP over satellite

    - by John
My brother is in the field with Doctors Without Borders. I'm posting this question on his behalf. We use outlook express (on a pc running windows XP) and a 9600 baud dial up satellite phone modem to get our email direct from the server in Paris. As this is a very expensive way to communicate (our satellite bill is $50K a year, no joke), it seems like trying to streamline is a good idea. Here's the question- when we connect, the sequence goes: Send outbox mails. This goes pretty quickly, probably 10-15 seconds for each email, up to maybe a couple minutes for an email of 150k or so). The status bar moves pretty quickly, according to the emails sent. The system then says "Checking for new messages on (our account name), and "Receiving list of messages from server". This takes a long time. Like 10-15 minutes. The status bar crawls along. Then it receives the messages. "Receiving messages from server". Again, each message takes 10-15 seconds, and this part moves along reasonably fast. I'm curious as to what is going on in the second part. It takes forever, and doesn't seem to be part of the sending or receiving messages themselves. Is there a way to speed up the process by changing a preference with communicating with the server or something? Does anyone have any advice for him speeding up what Outlooks Express is doing? Obviously his software is ancient and adding more software is not realistic based on the connection speed. Thanks!

  • How Could My Website Be Hacked

    - by Kiewic
Hi! I wonder how this could happen. Someone delete my index.php files from all my domains and puts his own index.php files with the next message: Hacked by Z4i0n - Fatal Error - 2009 [Fatal Error Group Br] Site desfigurado por Z4i0n Somos: Elemento_pcx - s4r4d0 - Z4i0n - Belive Gr33tz: W4n73d - M4v3rick - Observing - MLK - l3nd4 - Soul_Fly 2009 My domain has many subdomains, but only the subdomains that can be accessed with an specific user were hacked, the rest weren't affected. I assumed that someone entered through SSH, because some of these subdomains are empty and Google doesn't know about them. But I checked the access log using the last command, but this didn't show any activity through SSH or FTP the day of the attack neither seven days before. Does anybody has an idea? I already changed my passwords. What do you recommend me to do? UPDATE My website is hosted at Dreamhost. I suppose they have the latest patches installed. But, while I was looking how they entered to my server, I found weird things. In one of my subdomains, there were many scripts for execute commands on the server, upload files, send mass emails and display compromising information. These files had been created since last December!! I have deleted those files and I'm looking for more malicious files. Maybe the security hold is an old and forgotten PHP application. This application has a file upload form protected by a password system based on sessions. One of the malicious scripts was in the uploads directory. This doesn't seem like an SQL Injection attack. Thanks for your help.

  • Easiest way to send encrypted email?

    - by johnnyb10
To comply with Massachusetts's new personal information protection law, my company needs to (among other things) ensure that anytime personal information is sent via email, it's encrypted. What is the easiest way to do this? Basically, I'm looking for something that will require the least amount of effort on the part of the recipient. If at all possible, I really want to avoid them having to download a program or go through any steps to generate a key pair, etc. So command-line GPG-type stuff is not an option. We use Exchange Server and Outlook 2007 as our email system. Is there a program that we can use to easily encrypt an email and then fax or call the recipient with a key? (Or maybe our email can include a link to our website containing our public key, that the recipient can download to decrypt the mail?) We won't have to send many of these encrypted emails, but the people who will be sending them will not be particularly technical, so I want it to be as easy as possible. Any recs for good programs would be great. Thanks.

  • Setting up a localhost mail server on Mac OSX

    - by Thom
I asked this over on stackoverflow. I would love to be able to test php webapps that require emailing registration info etc. on my mac. I downloaded a version of CommuniGate Pro. I need to mail either to an account inside or outside (whichever is best) of the localhost. Again this would be used for testing purposes to verify and debug my code prior to uploading to a hosting service. Any ideas, help and/or examples would be very much appreciated. If it would be easier I could go over to Windows XP. That would just mean setting up wamp and transfering my files over from the mac side via dropbox. I got the local mailserver to work so I can send emails between accounts. However, I cannot seem to get the php code to work. I know that I am missing something. <?php function email($to, $subject, $body, $headers) { $headers = 'MIME-Version: 1.0' . "\r\n"; $headers .= 'From: <[email protected]>' . "\r\n"; mail($to, $subject, $body, $headers); } ?>

  • Is this SPF record correct for me?

    - by DT
I'm completely new to Stack Overflow, so Hi! I need to add an SPF record to my site "main.com" (not the real address) to allow an email publishing company "emailpublishers.com" (not the real address) to send emails on my behalf. However, I'm nervous about adding an SPF record because of the havoc it could wreak if done incorrectly. I use Google Apps. I also use "auxiliary.com" to send mail from "main.com." And, of course, I use "main.com" to send mail as well. "auxiliary.com" doesn't have an SPF record. I used Microsofts' and OpenSPF's wizards to generate the following SPF entry. Does it seem to be correct for me? "v=spf1 a mx ip4:55.55.555.55 mx:alt1.aspmx.l.google.com mx:alt2.aspmx.l.google.com mx:aspmx.l.google.com mx:aspmx2.googlemail.com mx:aspmx3.googlemail.com mx:aspmx4.googlemail.com mx:aspmx5.googlemail.com a:auxiliary.com include:_spf.google.com include:auxiliary.com mx:auxiliary.com include:emailpublishers.com mx:emailpublishers.com ~all" However, my host MediaTemple says in a knowledge base article to use: v=spf1 a:main.com/20 ~all So that added to my confusion. Thanks a lot!

  • Fixing Poor Email

    - by Tiffany Walker
I'm having an issue with SenderBase. My IPs are not blocked in any BLs but people who use SenderBase/Ciscos stuff do not get my emails. Is this because my email system is setup poorly? They list the following: Your email server or a computer in your network may be infected with malware and may be used to send spam. You may have an insecure network which is allowing other parties to use your network to send spam. Your email server may be misconfigured and might relay spam. You may be utilizing a dynamic IP that is not allowed to relay email directly to the Internet. I have just my site running CPanel. As far as I know there is no spam or abuse. What should I check to ensure that the mail systems (Exim) are up to standards? I have the server pretty well configured so I just can't see the system being abused without me knowing it. What standards should I be ensuring my e-mail server aligns up to?

  • Checksum for Protecting Read-Only Documents

    - by Kim
My father owns a small business and has to hand over several year's worth of financial documents to his insurance's auditor. He's asked me to go through and make sure everything is "read-only" so the data (the files) absolutely, positively cannot be modified or manipulated (he's a bit paranoid). We're talking about 20,000 documents (emails, spreadsheets, etc.). My first inclination was to place everything inside of one root folder ("mydadsdocs/") and then write a script that recursively traversed its directory subtree and set the file permissions to read-only. But then I got to thinking: that's a lot of work for me to do to satisfy an old man who is just being paranoid, and afterall, if someone really wanted to modify a read-only file, it would be pretty easy to change file permissions anyways, soo.... Is there like a checksum I could run on the root folder, something that was very quick and easy, and that would basically "stamp" the data in that folder so if someone did change it, my father would have someone of knowing/proving it? If so, how? If not, any other recommendations that are quick, cheap (free) and effective?

  • error creating MS Exchange distribution list: Active directory response: 00000005: SecErr: DSID-031521D0

    - by BabakBani
We've migrated a client from google apps to an MS Exchange 2010 SP2 on-premise setup. The setup /prepareAD went well, and the software was installed with the Administrator account. We've used the Exchange Management Console to setup mailboxes and had to google up the appropriate workarounds such as going into each users Advanced Security Settings and selecting "include inheritable permissions from this object's parents", and changing their logon-to from specific machines to "all computers" so that they can connect to Outlook Web Access, and in turn so their Outlook 2007-2010 clients can connect to Exchange. Sending and receiving emails are working well. Now that all this is in place, we can create Dynamic Distrubution Lists with no problem, but as soon as we try and create a DISTRIBUTION LIST, either in the EMC or the Exchange PowerShell, we get an error. As the error message in the powershell is more verbose, I include this if anyone can suggest how we remedy this: [PS] C:\Windows\system32new-DistributionGroup -Name 'projects' -SamAccountName 'projects' -Alias 'projects' Active Directory operation failed on DC.cppe.local. This error is not retriable. Additional information: Access is denied. • How can I set Thunderbird's "Recipient" column to display my email address rather than a friendly na

    - by Howiecamp
After configuring a single, unified Inbox within Outlook 2007 to unify multiple email accounts, I found Thunderbird 3's Smart Folder feature. It works great, providing individual inboxes for each of your email accounts and a unified inbox which provides a unified, virtual view of those other inboxes. Thunderbird is smart enough so what when I reply to an email addressed to a specific email account, the reply is "From" that email address. In order to know which inbound email was to which of my accounts, I added the "Recipient" column to the inbox Smart Folder: What's displayed in the Recipient column depends on how the sender/sender's email client addresses the email. If they send it to just "[email protected]" without specifying a friendly name, the Recipient column displays "[email protected]" and there's no ambiguity about which account the email was sent to. However, if the sender has me in their address book (likely stored with a friendly name), it will be addressed as "Howard Camp [[email protected]]" and then show in the Recipient column as "Howard Camp". The problem is that if someone emails me with a friendly name at another of my email accounts (e.g. "Howard Camp [[email protected]]", the Recipient column will also display "Howard Camp" and I can't tell which account it's to until I open the message and/or look at the details. How can I configure Thunderbird to always display my email address rather than the sender-specified friendly name in the Recipient column?

  • How do I determine whether this email bounce is my fault?

    - by David Zaslavsky
I use Google Apps to handle email for my personal website, so I have an email address [email protected] through that, and I also have a Gmail account [email protected]. Now, I've been trying to send emails to a particular recipient who shall be known as [email protected]. When I send the email from my Gmail account with the @gmail.com address, it works fine. However, when I send it from my Google Apps account with the @ellipsix.net address, I get a bounce message which includes the following text: Delivery to the following recipient failed permanently: [email protected] Technical details of permanent failure: Google tried to deliver your message, but it was rejected by the recipient domain. We recommend contacting the other email provider for further information about the cause of this error. The error that the other server returned was: 554 554 mail server permanently rejected message (#5.3.0) (state 17). The bounce message suggests that it is up to the mail administrator of the recipient domain example.com to fix the problem, whatever it is. But I would like to be as sure as possible that nothing needs to be fixed on my end. I already have DKIM signatures enabled for my domain, and I have published an SPF DNS record. Is there something else I should check or do, or can I be confident that it's up to the recipient to fix this issue? Does the "state 17" in the bounce message mean something relevant? I've included my domain name in the question so people who know more than me about this stuff can independently check the relevant DNS records or other information. This other question seems similar, but I've already investigated everything suggested in the answers there (except for contacting Google, which I don't want to do unless I suspect it's their issue to fix).

  • exim4 redirect mail sent to *@domain1.example.com to *@domain2.example.com

    - by nightcoder
Current situation: We have a VPS that hosts a website example.org. Exim is configured to work as a smarthost. All emails sent through exim are successfully relayed to another mail server (that is working on example.com). Goal: To forward mail sent to *@example.org to *@example.com, i.e. change the recipient's address from *@example.org to *@example.com. Problem: If I send email to address *@example.org, then it seems exim doesn't change the address, it still relays the message to another mail server but recipient is still *@example.org. Maybe the redirect is not applied for some reason. Configuration and logs: /etc/exim4/update-exim4.conf.conf: dc_eximconfig_configtype='smarthost' dc_other_hostnames='' dc_local_interfaces='' dc_readhost='example.org' dc_relay_domains='example.org' dc_minimaldns='false' dc_relay_nets='0.0.0.0/32' dc_smarthost='example.com::26' CFILEMODE='644' dc_use_split_config='false' dc_hide_mailname='true' dc_mailname_in_oh='true' dc_localdelivery='maildir_home' /etc/exim4/conf.d/router/999_exim4-config_redirect (created by me): domain_redirect: debug_print = "R: forward for $local_part@$domain" driver = redirect domains = example.org data = [email protected] (for now data is set to a specific address for simplicity and testing) exim log when sending email to [email protected] (should be redirected to [email protected]): 2012-03-20 19:40:07 1SA4ud-0005Dw-7k <= [email protected] U=www-data P=local S=657 2012-03-20 19:40:08 1SA4ud-0005Dw-7k => [email protected] R=smarthost T=remote_smtp_smarthost H=domain2.com [184.172.146.66] X=TLS1.0:RSA_AES_256_CBC_SHA1:32 DN="C=US,2.5.4.17=#13053737303932,ST=TX,L=Houston,STREET=Suite 400,STREET=11251 Northwest Freeway,O=HostGator.com,OU=HostGator.com,OU=Comodo PremiumSSL Wildcard,CN=*.hostgator.com" 2012-03-20 19:40:08 1SA4ud-0005Dw-7k Completed So, the address is not changed :( Please help! • Rundeck get verbose output of command executing on node

    - by Leon Stafford
I have Rundeck executing a remote script, which is in python is using print statements to return output normally such as: $ python mytest.py PASS: Condition 1 passed PASS: Condition 2 passed PASS: and so on... When I run this via Rundeck, however, it doesn't show me the same print generated outputs as above. In Rundeck's most detailed Debug output mode, I only receive the following: 06:31:12 Permanently added 'myremotenode.com' (RSA) to the list of known hosts. 06:31:12 SSH_MSG_NEWKEYS sent 06:31:12 SSH_MSG_NEWKEYS received 06:31:12 SSH_MSG_SERVICE_REQUEST sent 06:31:13 SSH_MSG_SERVICE_ACCEPT received 06:31:13 Authentications that can continue: publickey,password,keyboard-interactive 06:31:13 Next authentication method: publickey 06:31:13 Authentication succeeded (publickey). 06:31:13 /cygdrive/c/Program Files (x86)/Mozil... 06:32:06 Adding reference: ant.PropertyHelper 06:32:06 Setting project property: sshexec.output -> /cygdrive/c/Prog... I know that the remote script is actually executing just as usual, as I'm receiving other emails generated by the ~30min long script. Obviously, I don't want to have to wait 30mins to see the result of each print statement within the python script. How can I get the same level of output in Rundeck as I do in the bash shell directly?

  • Postfix Relay to Office365

    - by woodsbw
I am trying to setup a Postfix server on a Linux box to relay all mail to our Office365 (Exchange, hosted by Microsoft) mail server, but, I keep getting an error regarding the sending address: BB338140DC1: to= relay=pod51010.outlook.com[157.56.234.118]:587, delay=7.6, delays=0.01/0/2.5/5.1, dsn=5.7.1, status=bounced (host pod51010.outlook.com[157.56.234.118] said: 550 5.7.1 Client does not have permissions to send as this sender (in reply to end of DATA command)) Office 365 requires that the sending address in the MAIL FROM and From: header be the same as the address used to authenticate. I have tried everything I can think of in the config to get this working. My postconf -n: append_dot_mydomain = no biff = no config_directory = /etc/postfix debug_peer_list = 127.0.0.1 inet_interfaces = loopback-only inet_protocols = all mailbox_size_limit = 0 mydestination = xxxxx, localhost.localdomain, localhost myhostname = localhost mynetworks = 127.0.0.0/8 recipient_delimiter = + relay_domains = our.doamin relayhost = [pod51010.outlook.com]:587 sender_canonical_classes = envelope_sender sender_canonical_maps = hash:/etc/postfix/sender_canonical smtp_always_send_ehlo = yes smtp_sasl_auth_enable = yes smtp_sasl_mechanism_filter = login smtp_sasl_password_maps = hash:/etc/postfix/sasl_passwd smtp_sasl_security_options = smtp_tls_CAfile = /etc/postfix/cacert.pem smtp_tls_loglevel = 1 smtp_tls_security_level = may smtp_tls_session_cache_database = btree:${data_directory}/smtp_scache smtpd_banner = $myhostname ESMTP $mail_name (Ubuntu) smtpd_tls_session_cache_database = btree:${data_directory}/smtpd_scache smtpd_use_tls = yes sender_canonical: www-data [email protected] root [email protected] www-data@localhost [email protected] root@localhost [email protected] Also, sasl_passwd is set to the correct credentials (tested them using swaks multiple times.) Authentication works, and sends the message when the from headers are correct (also tested using swaks....which works) The emails are coming from PHP, so I have also tried altering the sendmail path in php.ini to use pass the correct from address via -f So, for some reason, mail coming from www-data and root are not having the from fields rewritten to Office 365's satisfaction, and it won't send the message. Any postfix gurus out there that can help me setup this relay?

  • Windows Server 2003 SBS domain in multiple sites

    - by E3 Group
We have about 25 employees in our current office and are looking to open up another office in another capital city housing about 15 employees. In our current office, we are running a domain hosted by a 2003 SBS server and I've been tasked by the boss to expand our infrastructure to the new office in the cheapest way possible (cheapest way in the short run that is, because my boss doesn't think more than 6 months ahead). So I'm looking to get a second hand server and have it run Server 2003 Std with exchange server 2003. These are the things that it needs to do: Replicate shared folders that are hosted in the parent LAN. Deliver emails hosted in the parent Exchange Server Somehow link up with the parent domain controller and push the AD to the remote site I'm pretty sure 3 is impossible but the DC would be available if a VPN connection is present, right? On that note, would I be looking at hardware VPN connections? I'm not sure how to deploy the new site as this is my first time doing it and i'm making it especially difficult for myself, seeing as the AD and DC is on an SBS server. Would I first start by establishing a VPN connection and then joining the new server to the domain? Will things 'just work' if I install exchange onto the new server and point outlooks to it? and how would I be able to replicate shared folders?

  • How to let MSN or Yahoo Messenger set you to be Invisible or Offline when you are idle for an hour?

    - by Jian Lin
The short question is: How do we let MSN or Yahoo Messenger set us to be Invisible or Offline when we are idle for half an hour or an hour? The reason is: if I am on 24 hours a day, some people see me as weird. Some people see my value as low, because I am always there. There are ways to set me to "Away" or "Busy" after 10 minutes, but there seems to be no way to set myself to invisible or offline after 1 hour. As I am a software developer, I am very used to turning the computer on 24 hours a day. (for example, for checking email for urgent fixes, and fix issue and push to web server). We don't turn off computer usually even when we sleep, because we may sometimes can't sleep yet and come check on the computer, or wake up in the morning and immediately need to check if everything is ok. But, my MSN and Yahoo Messenger is always on for 24 hours a day, and I found that some girls start to ask me why I am always there 24 hours a day (even though they see me as away or busy, their feeling is that I am always there). What's more, I found that since I am always there, my value actually drop in their eyes, because hard to get = high value, and always there = low value. Some people feel me as having nothing much to do, always in front of computer, or what is he doing in front of computer so much? Now since it is my job, and I need to read emails once in a while, I am in fact in front of the computer more than some other people. I am in front of the computer maybe 10 hours a day, far from 24 hours a day. Is there an easy and automatic solution to this?
