• Install xenserver on iscsi target

  Is is know that Xen Server is based on CentOS, and it is fact that CentOS can be installed on an ISCSI target flawlessly, but I wanted to install Xen server on an ISCSI target I couldn't find a way. I already tried the latest version of xen server 6.2, and there is no obvious way who to do the installation without a local disk. Does anybody have an idea about the subject, or did someone know how to do it? Please share your experience about this subject.

• Wired and wireless network file sharing

  I have connected my Internet to a buffalo air station router and a swtich. Computers and Laptops on this network connect to the Internet wired and wirelessly. I would like to share files locally on this network but I can't access the laptop's which connect wirelessly. I have shared folders on each computer but I would like to know if local file sharing is possible as all the computers utimately connect to the same router. All computers are running Windows 7.

  Was wondering if anyone knew how to get 3-4 virtual box's to share the same monitor (i.e. so i could potentially get 4 box's on one screen, each screen environment would need to maintain its 1280x1024 internal resolution (so scale i guess?) anyways if you could help it would be greatly appreciated. • Add the "SAMBA File Server" role to a server running SCO Unix?

  We're trying to get network access to a hard drive on a server running SCO Unix from Windows Servers. I beleive we need to add the role "SAMBA File Server" to the server so we can mount the drive as a network share that we can access from Windows. • Should I worry about making my picasa web albums public?

  I choose the public option for all my albums in Picasaweb, these mostly (90%) contain pictures of my children which I share with my family. Ever so often somebody I don't know adds me as a favorite, at current count I have 7 people in my fan list (non of whom I know) and only three of them have any public albums. Is this creepy? I take care not to upload any pictures that may attract perverts What would you recommend, private by default or continue with public?

• How can I make photo CDs from iPhoto

  I have a new Macbook, don't know the OS, but just got it--it's the cheaper model. I saved a lot of photos on iPhoto and can't figure out how to burn a CD. Tried the "share" function and when I choose a location to save the photos and hit burn, get an error message that says can't create in that location. Needs to be run on a pc or photo processing place.

• Installing ArchLinux into Ubuntu 12.04 root

  Is it possible to install 2 linux distros into 1 root, so they share same uuid and guid, configs and packages + same user /home folder ? For example: I have Ubuntu and Windows 7 already in dual boot on my laptop. Could I install Arch's base, base-devel and kernel, so it won't conflict with Ubuntu on the same root folder? P.S I don't feel like repartitioning my drive again, 'cause there's very complicated hierarchy, which occupies the entire disk. =)

• Is there an "include" procedure in vimrc?

  I have some configuration in my vimrc. Some generic ones, and some other really specific. I would like to share this config with some co workers, but a lot of them don't need these specific ones. Instead of editing a bunch of different vimrc, I would like to know if it's possible to have an "include" directive - something like a file named ".vimrc_module" and called from vimrc. Is it possible?

• PCIe network card deactivate DVI output (but NOT VGA output) on Shuttle SG41J1+

  It's all in the title :) Inserting a network card (or any other PCIe card, RAID controller, SAS, etc ) in the PCIe 16x slot of the Shuttle SG41J1 deactivate the DVI output. The VGA output still works fine. Shuttle support says that it's a chipset limitation (G41 + ICH7), but that doesn't make sense to me : the VGA and DVI share the same hardware but the D/A converter stage. Does anyone think that there may be some solution to this conundrum? Can a future BIOS update solve the problem?

  i tried to configure router pc in my linux ubuntu 10.04 . I use 2 connection to connect 2 client. 1st computer use LAN connection and 2nd use wireless connection. when i make new wireless connection in my ubuntu, the wireless that i make could not be detected by other computer that use wireless connection.i have tried to use windows and ubuntu as a client but it doesn't work. • first of all nice work,, how to redirect the url of old modified directries

• [Nameservers] Can I setup 5 ips to 1 server and have only 2 nameservers?

  So I have 1 computer with 5 IP's and around 15 sites being hosted. I have 4 of the ips setup to be dedicated for 4 sites and the rest share the 5th ip. When I'm setting up my name server, do I set it up at Godaddy my Registar or on my server's dns or both? Can I just setup NS1 - Add all the ips NS2 - Add all the ips And just have all the sites use those two name servers?

• What's the correct SELinux type for a directory?

  If I create a new filesystem/directory off of / and I set the Linux permissions to 770 I expect the group to be able to read and write files in that directory. SELinux was preventing me from doing this until I changed the SELinux type on that directory to public_content_rw_t. If this is just a directory in which users in that group will share files is this an acceptable SELinux type or should I be using another one? Writing a custom policy seems like overkill for these purposes. Thanks

  A couple of years back MP3 was the most supported format for portable devices. Then Apple came along and wiped the floor of all the portable devices with the iPod as well as the iPhone. They clearly favour M4A (AAC). When to choose, right now, the 'best' audio codec to encode music to, which would you choose to achieve maximal independence of portable device vendors: MP3 or M4A? (I am well aware of Ogg (vorbis): no market (maybe this changes with HTML5 and more WebKit on portable devices), I am also aware of FLAC: I dont want to discuss long term storage.)

• No output in Linux Keyboard Logger running in VirtualBox

  I'm trying to run LKL (Linux Keyboard Logger) in a Ubuntu 9.04 VirtualBox VM (VirtualBox 2.2.2 running on a XP host). The package installs fine, but when I try to run it lkl -l -k /usr/share/lkl/keymaps/us_km -o ./kbd.log & it hogs the CPU usage to 50% and never logs a keystroke (in fact the kbd.log file is never created) Any clues?   I use a Windows 7 machine to share my internet connection, but the one network interface which are connected to my local network is marked as "Unidentified network", the sharing works well anyway but because the interface can't be chosen as Home network i can't use the HomeGroup features etc. Do you know which requirements an interface has meet to identify a network in Windows 7?

  RE: Putting this out there in case someone else runs into this issue. The intel chipset is on-board. I discovered the reason for the crappy resolution in windows 7 was that the memory to share with the video card was set to 1MB in the BIOS. • Web & SQL Hosting 32 vs. 16 GB of ram

  I'm in the market for a new dedicated host for my website. My question is I can pay more to upgrade to 32GB of RAM, but it seems overkill for my website right now, in fact, 16GB seems a little overkill. However, I run a lot of pretty intense full text searches for my site. I'm wondering if SQL Server would benefit, or could it be configured to use the 32 GB of RAM if I purchase the additional to help speed things up? I am assuming that most of my latency is caused by disk I/O and that for the extra money spent on RAM, I might not see any improvement in overall speed?

• Are neighbors formed in EIGRP and OSPF always directly connectly?

  I always thought that neighbors formed in EIGRP were not necessarily directly connected because the only requirement for two routers to be neighbors is that they share the same Autonomous System and K-values, but it seems that I was wrong. I have looked up several books, they do not seem to give a clear answer. And I am even more confused with OSPF... Please, give me some light here. Thank you.
