how do I insert an sidebar menu onto a page without using an iframe? or needing to edit the main page. Is it possible to do this or the only option is to use an iframe?
Hi
I'm trying to give my users the functionality to change what the background image used on a page is.
The list of background images will be a small number that won't really change.
I thought I could add a few Taxonomy terms...one for each background type...then apply a class to the body tag when the page is viewed.
Does this sound feasible and if so how would I go about doing it?
Thanks
Sam
I've been developing an SSRS 2005 report (a form letter) that contains two tables. The first "table" uses DataSet "A" to populate address fields on letterhead.
The second table uses DataSet "B" to display a basic list of records that pertain to the addressed party.
Even though the two tables are within the same page and all PageBreak* properties are set to "False", SSRS renders the report as two pages.
How can I force both tables to render in series, without any forced page breaks?
Hi,
Can I open .htm file in HTML page and Edit it ?
e.g. using FrontPage inside HTML page to Open the .htm file and let one authorized user to modify contents of the .htm file, and then save the .htm file in the same folder from which the .htm file opened directly without searching for the folder ?
Thanks,
Ahmed.
You know how sometimes you are on a good site and you click a button (like to submit a form) and the form doesn't go away, instead, the foreground becomes transparent and it contains a message of some kind, or another page. The message is at the forefront but the previous page is still mostly visible behind it - how do they do that? I'm assuming it's an Ajax-esque trick.
Is there a way using jQuery or Javascript to force a page to open in Firefox? For example, if the user has their default browser set to internet explorer, but they have firefox on their computer - open a new firefox window with the intended page. If so, I would need to check to see if they have firefox on their machine; otherwise, redirect to the mozilla firefox download site...
any suggestions?
OK, i have been doing some work modding a pre-compiled ASP.NET application (VB codebehind) but i have come across something i have never seen before.
When ever theres an error on the loading of a page, the page outputs nothing (no error message, no error message, nothing at all)
firefox displays this error:
XML Parsing Error: no element found
Location: http://site.local/Checkout.aspx
Line Number 1, Column 1:
Because there is no html output.
Is there some sort of setting that im missing that makes IIS/ASP.NET function like this?
I am writing a scraper that downloads all the image files from a HTML page and saves them to a specific folder. all the images are the part of the HTML page.
Hi,
I am using
- (BOOL)shouldAutorotateToInterfaceOrientation:(UIInterfaceOrientation)interfaceOrientation{ return YES; }
to allow rotation, which works fine - except that the landscape view jumps backwards up the page that is being displayed. I can't figure out what I should be looking at to fix it. I just want the page to rotate where it is.
Any pointers would be great. Am a noob, as is probably clear.
Thanks
Jonathan
During debug builds I would like to show the duration it took, server side, to generate a page in the pages footer.
So for example if a page takes 250ms server side I would like that displayed in the footer, in debug builds. How can I achieve this in an ASP.NET MVC project?
Well, greasemonkey can execute users script but only after the page loads fully. Is there any script that can take user script (javascript) and executes it before the page downlaods any elemts.

Hello,
I'm working on a ColdFusion dynamic website. For this website, there are a lot of CFCs and a lot of functions within each CFC. Would it be more efficient to store an instance of the CFC in an application variable, then to instance each CFC separately on each page load.
For each page, at most 2 separate CFCs get called. I'm also interested in how performance will be effected when requests increase (Stress).
Thanks!

Like the title says, I'm trying to find out if I need to include a script library that my ASP.net UserControl needs to work. I don't want to include it multiple times per page, but I want my control to be able to be used multiple times on the same page.
How can I, in the codebehind of my control, check to see if a given <script/> tag is present?
This is .Net 2.0, no LINQ.
I have an ASPX page that is sometimes loaded into an iFrame in my application and sometimes not. From the code behind how can you detect if your page is being loaded from an iFrame.
I have a PDF loaded in an iPhone app using UIWebView and it displays page numbers when the pages are scrolled manually. But I've had no luck figuring out how to access those numbers and set the page displayed. Any suggestions would be welcomed. Thanks.

Hey everyone.
Let's say I have a bunch of DIVs with a class of "apple", and another bunch of DIVs with a lass of "orange".
All these DIVs have various positions, but I want to use a jQuery function to assign them new positions relative to their parent containers live on the page without any reloading.
So, for example, how do I set all DIVs with the class of "apple" to a "top" value of "200px" relative to the parent container without reloading the page?
Thanks!
Hi All,
In my application I have next problem. I created master page and some content pages, some of which are located in the nested folders. In the master page I added the link to .css file
<link href="default.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />
But pages are located in the nested folders can't use this .css file. How can I fix this? I want to have one .css file for all pages (:
Thanks!

Does anyone know how to check in ASP.NET (C#) if Facebook is scraping a page? I'd like to be able to check on the server side if the "browser" hitting the page is actually Facebook (e.g. when it grabs details when a user is attempting to share a link).
With asp.NET control dropdownlist, there is a property AutoPostBack, if it is set "True", the whole page will be posted back.
If the aspx page include a html element "select" like:
and it data is filled by code-behind.
Question is: how to allow this Select have AutoPostBack function too?

Hi. :)
Apart from the global.css i'm including in my header.php, i would also like to load certain page-content specific styles.
But since my <head></head> is already covered by my header file, and i don't wish to resort to inlines, what is the best way to place the styles on the specific page?
Thanks ! :D
Want to check that my site map contains a page.
Could just iterate through SiteMap.RootNode.GetAllNodes() but is there a way to search for a page without iterating manually?
