  • Django: problem with merging querysets after annotation

    - by Björn Lilja
Hi I have a manager for "Dialog" looking like this: class AnnotationManager(models.Manager): def get_query_set(self): return super(AnnotationManager, self).get_query_set().annotate( num_votes=Count('vote', distinct=True), num_comments=Count('comment', distinct=True), num_commentators = Count('comment__user', distinct=True), ) Votes and Comments has a ForeignKey to Dialog. Comments has a ForeignKey to User. When I do this: dialogs_queryset = Dialog.public.filter(organization=organization) dialogs_popularity = dialogs_queryset.exclude(num_comments=0) | dialogs_queryset.exclude(num_votes=0) ...dialogs_popularity will never returned the combination, but only the dialogs with more than 0 comments, or if I change the order of the OR, the dialogs with more than 0 votes! To me, the expected behavior would be to get the dialogs with more than 0 votes AND the dialogs with more than 0 comments. What am I missing? Or is there a bug in the annotation behavior here?

  • How to create a controllable flip effect (flip as far (and fast) as you drag) of an UIView

    - by allisone
I have a card (a flashcard you could say) What I can do: On fingersweeping over the flashcard the card gets turned. It's happening by detecting touchesBegan and touchesMoved and then I do stuff like [UIView beginAnimations:@"View Flip" context:nil]; [UIView setAnimationDuration:0.5]; [UIView setAnimationCurve:UIViewAnimationCurveEaseInOut]; if (left) { [UIView setAnimationTransition: UIViewAnimationTransitionFlipFromLeft forView:self.flashCardView cache:YES]; }else{ [UIView setAnimationTransition: UIViewAnimationTransitionFlipFromRight forView:self.flashCardView cache:YES]; } What I can't do (but want to): I want to somehow drag the flip. Imagine this, you have a flashcard and you think you know the answer, you start flipping the card around because you want to see if you are correct, but then... no stop... you hesitate, turn back the card to the way it was, rethink, get the real answer and then finally flip to see that you were right to hesitate. Now I only have: once you start flipping, you can't stop it.

  • Looping through an array to remove a touched object (iPhone/Cocos2d)

    - by Michael Lowe
I am using cocos2d to build a game. I have an array of CCSprites and I want to be able to touch them and delete the one that was touched. Right now I have this... -(void) spawn { mySprite = [CCSprite spriteWithFile:@"image.png"]; mySprite.position = ccp(positionX,positionY); [myArray addObject:mySprite]; [self addChild:mySprite]; } - (void) ccTouchesBegan:(NSSet *)touches withEvent:(UIEvent *)event { UITouch* touch = [touches anyObject]; CGPoint location = [touch locationInView: [touch view]]; NSUInteger i, count = [myArray count]; for (i = 0; i < count; i++) { mySprite = (CCSprite *)[myArray objectAtIndex:i]; if (CGRectContainsPoint([mySprite boundingBox], location)) { [self removeChild:mySprite cleanup:YES]; } } I have never done this before. Does anyone have a solution? Thanks, Michael

  • UISlider disappearing when calling setValue with 0

    - by Kai
I have several UISliders in my application which all work fine until I call the following code: ... frame = CGRectMake(43, 210, 201, 23); mySlider = [[UISlider alloc] initWithFrame:frame]; [mySlider addTarget:self action:@selector(sliderUpdate:) forControlEvents:UIControlEventValueChanged]; mySlider.minimumValue = 0.0; mySlider.maximumValue = 1.0; mySlider.continuous = YES; tempNum = [myArray objectAtIndex:2]; mySlider.value = [tempNum floatValue]; // only breaks if value is 0 [self.view addSubview:mySlider]; ... For some reason the slider doesn't show up unless mySlider.value is set to greater than 0. The only workaround I've found so far is to set it to an extremely small value (such as 0.000000001), which makes the slider appear as expected. Does anyone have any idea why this might be happening and how it can be fixed?

  • Plural to Singular conversion trouble in Rails Migrations?

    - by Earlz
Hi, I'm a beginner at Ruby On Rails and am trying to get a migration to work with the name Priorities So, here is the code I use in my migration: class Priorities < ActiveRecord::Migration def self.up create_table :priorities do |t| t.column :name, :string, :null => false, :limit => 32 end Priority.create :name => "Critical" Priority.create :name => "Major" Priority.create :name => "Minor" end def self.down drop_table :priorities end end This results in the following error though: NOTICE: CREATE TABLE will create implicit sequence "priorities_id_seq" for serial column "priorities.id" NOTICE: CREATE TABLE / PRIMARY KEY will create implicit index "priorities_pkey" for table "priorities" rake aborted! An error has occurred, this and all later migrations canceled: uninitialized constant Priorities::Priority Is this some problem with turning ies to y for converting something plural to singular?

  • Setting Position of NSWindow before Display

    - by Armin Ronacher
Right now I'm setting the position of a window that is about to open like this: -(void) setActiveNodeDialog:(ISKNodeDialogController *)dialog { if (activeNodeDialog) [[activeNodeDialog window] close]; activeNodeDialog = dialog; if (activeNodeDialog) { [activeNodeDialog setMainWindowController:self]; NSRect windowRect = [[self window] frame]; NSRect dialogRect = [[activeNodeDialog window] frame]; NSPoint pos; pos.x = windowRect.origin.x + windowRect.size.width - dialogRect.size.width - 10; pos.y = windowRect.origin.y + 32; [[activeNodeDialog window] setFrameOrigin:pos]; [[activeNodeDialog window] makeKeyAndOrderFront:nil]; } } The problem with that is, that the window will "jump" when shown. And that even though I set the position before showing the window with "makeKeyAndOrderFront". The window is a NSPanel *. Anyone any ideas how to fix the jumping? Setting the position in awakeFromNib is not an option because the main controller is set later.

  • checking player prefs from unity in xcode

    - by user313100
    I made a simple scene that has some GUI buttons in Unity. When you press a button it will set a player preference to 1. I have a button for facebook, twitter and a store. In XCode, when the value hits 1, it switches to a new window with facebook, twitter or the store. My problem is that when I try and retrieve the player preferences in XCode, they always come up as null. To compound my confusion, my code seems to respond to the switch to 1 and it switches to the new window when the value hits 1. Any ideas why it manages to switch to the other window and why I am getting null values? - (void) applicationDidFinishLaunching:(UIApplication*)application { printf_console("-> applicationDidFinishLaunching()\n"); NSUserDefaults *userDefaults = [NSUserDefaults standardUserDefaults]; [userDefaults setInteger:0 forKey:@"Store"]; [userDefaults setInteger:0 forKey:@"Facebook"]; [userDefaults setInteger:0 forKey:@"Twitter"]; _storeWindow = [[UIWindow alloc] initWithFrame:[[UIScreen mainScreen] bounds]]; _facebookWindow = [[UIWindow alloc] initWithFrame:[[UIScreen mainScreen] bounds]]; _twitterWindow = [[UIWindow alloc] initWithFrame:[[UIScreen mainScreen] bounds]]; viewControllerSK = [[SKViewController alloc]initWithNibName:@"SKViewController" bundle:nil]; viewControllerFacebook = [[xutils_exampleViewController alloc]initWithNibName:@"FacebookViewController" bundle:nil]; viewControllerTwitter = [[xutils_exampleViewController2 alloc]initWithNibName:@"TwitterViewController" bundle:nil]; [_storeWindow addSubview:viewControllerSK.view]; [_facebookWindow addSubview:viewControllerFacebook.view]; [_twitterWindow addSubview:viewControllerTwitter.view]; [SKStoreManager sharedManager]; [self startUnity:application]; } - (void) applicationDidBecomeActive:(UIApplication*)application { printf_console("-> applicationDidBecomeActive()\n"); if (gDidResignActive == true) { UnitySetAudioSessionActive(true); UnityPause(false); } gDidResignActive = false; [self newTimer]; } - (void) applicationWillResignActive:(UIApplication*)application { printf_console("-> applicationDidResignActive()\n"); UnitySetAudioSessionActive(false); UnityPause(true); gDidResignActive = true; } - (void) applicationDidReceiveMemoryWarning:(UIApplication*)application { printf_console("WARNING -> applicationDidReceiveMemoryWarning()\n"); } - (void) applicationWillTerminate:(UIApplication*)application { printf_console("-> applicationWillTerminate()\n"); UnityCleanup(); } -(void)newTimer { NSTimer *theTimer = [self getTimer]; [theTimer retain]; [[NSRunLoop currentRunLoop] addTimer: theTimer forMode: NSDefaultRunLoopMode]; } -(NSTimer *)getTimer { NSTimer *theTimer; theTimer = [NSTimer scheduledTimerWithTimeInterval:1.0 target:self selector: @selector(onLoop) userInfo:nil repeats:YES]; return [theTimer autorelease]; } -(void)onLoop { NSUserDefaults *userDefaults = [NSUserDefaults standardUserDefaults]; //NSLog(@"FB: %@", [userDefaults integerForKey:@"Facebook"]); if ([userDefaults integerForKey:@"Store"] != 1 && [userDefaults integerForKey:@"Facebook"] != 1 && [userDefaults integerForKey:@"Twitter"] != 1) { UnityPause(FALSE); _window.hidden = NO; _storeWindow.hidden = YES; _facebookWindow.hidden = YES; _twitterWindow.hidden = YES; [_window makeKeyWindow]; } if ([userDefaults integerForKey:@"Store"] == 1) { UnityPause(TRUE); _storeWindow.hidden = NO; _window.hidden = YES; [_storeWindow makeKeyWindow]; } if ([userDefaults integerForKey:@"Facebook"] == 1) { UnityPause(TRUE); _facebookWindow.hidden = NO; _window.hidden = YES; [_facebookWindow makeKeyWindow]; } if ([userDefaults integerForKey:@"Twitter"] == 1) { UnityPause(TRUE); _twitterWindow.hidden = NO; _window.hidden = YES; [_twitterWindow makeKeyWindow]; } } -(void) dealloc { DestroySurface(&_surface); [_context release]; _context = nil; [_window release]; [_storeWindow release]; [_facebookWindow release]; [_twitterWindow release]; [viewControllerSK release]; [viewControllerFacebook release]; [viewControllerTwitter release]; [super dealloc]; }

  • UITableView becomes invisible after changing data in it

    - by Alexander Shemshurenko
Hi I have application with TabBar that control several views. In one view i control connection to different servers. Each server provides different set of items. I display these items in UITableView on other view. I create table view like this UITableView * aTableView = [[UITableView alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(X,Y,Width,Height) style:UITableViewStyleGrouped]; [[self view] addSubview:aTableView]; aTableView.da taSource = self; The problem is that Table view displayed ok first time , but if i go back to view number one and change server(changing list of items that should be displayed in table view), table view becomes invisible for some reason. If i tap on the screen in place where it should be, its becomes visible again. Ive tried to call to reloadData and setNeedDisplay in viewWillAppear of the UIViewController that hosts this table view, but without success. Any advice? Thanks

  • Ruby on Rails - Currency : commas causing an issue.

    - by easement
Looking on SO, I see that the preferred way to currency using RoR is using decimal(8,2) and to output them using number_to_currency(); I can get my numbers out of the DB, but I'm having issues on getting them in. Inside my update action I have the following line: if @non_labor_expense.update_attributes(params[:non_labor_expense]) puts YAML::dump(params) The dump of params shows the correct value. xx,yyy.zz , but what gets stored in the DB is only xx.00 What do I need to do in order to take into account that there may be commas and a user may not enter .zz (the cents). Some regex and for comma? how would you handle the decimal if it were .2 versus .20 . There has to be a builtin or at least a better way. My Migration (I don't know if this helps): class ChangeExpenseToDec < ActiveRecord::Migration def self.up change_column :non_labor_expenses, :amount, :decimal, :precision => 8, :scale => 2 end def self.down change_column :non_labor_expenses, :amount, :integer end end

  • UIActionSheet cancel button strange behaviour

    - by nevan
    I have a UIBarButtonItem opening an action sheet to offer users choices about what to do. Everything works as expected unless I try to click on the "Cancel" button. The target of the button appears to have moved up from where it should be. I can only activate it by clicking somewhere in the middle of the "Cancel" and "Ok" buttons. I've tried at action sheets in other applications and they work fine, so it's not just my big thumb. The action sheet is opening in a UIViewController - (void)showOpenOptions { UIActionSheet *sheet = [[UIActionSheet alloc] initWithTitle:NSLocalizedString(@"Open link in external application?", @"Open in external application") delegate:self cancelButtonTitle:NSLocalizedString(@"Cancel", @"Cancel") destructiveButtonTitle:NSLocalizedString(@"Open Link", @"Open Link") otherButtonTitles:nil]; [sheet showInView:self.view]; [sheet release]; }

  • NSUndoManager won't undo editing of a NSMutableDictionary

    - by xon1c

The following code won't undo an removeObjectForKey: operation but the redo operation setObject:ForKey: works. - (void) insertIntoDictionary:(NSBezierPath *)thePath { [[[window undoManager] prepareWithInvocationTarget:self] removeFromDictionary:thePath]; if(![[window undoManager] isUndoing]) [[window undoManager] setActionName:@"Save Path"]; NSLog(@"Object id is: %d and Key id is: %d", [currentPath objectAtIndex:0], thePath); [colorsForPaths setObject:[currentPath objectAtIndex:0] forKey:thePath]; } - (void) removeFromDictionary:(NSBezierPath *)thePath { [[[window undoManager] prepareWithInvocationTarget:self] insertIntoDictionary:thePath]; if(![[window undoManager] isUndoing]) [[window undoManager] setActionName:@"Delete Path"]; NSLog(@"Object id is: %d and Key id is: %d", [[colorsForPaths allKeys] objectAtIndex:0], thePath); [colorsForPaths removeObjectForKey:thePath]; } The output on the console looks like: // Before setObject:ForKey: Object id is: 1184384 and Key id is: 1530016 // Before removeObjectForKey: UNDO Object id is: 2413664 and Key id is: 1530016 I don't get why the Object id is different although the Key id remains the same. Is there some special undo/redo handling of NSMutableDictionary objects? thx xonic

  • EXC_BAD_ACCESS when trying to release an ABRecordRef

    - by synic
I've got the following class that is a wrapper around an ABPerson (ABRecordRef): @interface Recipient : NSObject { ABRecordRef person; } - (id)initWithPerson:(ABRecordRef)person; @end @implementation - (id)initWithPerson:(ABRecordRef)_person { if(self = [super init]) person = CFRetain(_person); return self; } - (void)dealloc { if(person) CFRelease(person); [super dealloc]; } @end I've left some of the methods out, but they aren't relevant to this question. Everything works fine, except I get an EXC_BAD_ACCESS on the if(person) CFRelease(person); line. Why does this happen? I'm not calling CFRelease or CFRetain at all anywhere else in my app.

  • Why would the first call to a KVC setter have an NSTextField instance as the argument?

    - by Stephen
If I have a NSTextField bound through an NSObjectController to a model object, I would expect the setter of the model object to be called with an NSString as the argument, but instead, I receive the instance of the control that I am bound too the first time I am called. - (NSString *)property { NSLog(@"returning property"); return property; } - (void)setProperty:(NSString *)string { NSLog(@"recieved %@", string) } - (id) init { if (self = [super init]) { property = [[NSString alloc] initWithString:@"value"]; } NSLog(@"property is %@",property"); return self; } (The program doesn't run if you try anything in setProperty, because it tries to send NSString messages to string - which might be an NSTextField.) • Editing a UIViewController from another class.

    - by Guy
I am trying to programmatically change the user interface of a UIViewController from another NSObject class. The problem is that I am unsure of how to access the UIViewController's view from the NSObject class. So for example, in my NSObject class, I say something like: self.view = [[UIView alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(0, 0, 320, 480)]; self.view.backgroundColor = [UIColor yellowColor]; but I keep getting errors saying "Request for member "view" in something not a strut or union." Is there something I need to allow my NSObject class to see my UIViewController? Thanks!

  • Program ends abruptly even in debugger - how did that happen?

    - by Mick
I am trying to debug a program that unexpectedly shuts down. When I say "shuts down, I mean one moment I am seeing all the windows being displayed, each of which is showing all the right data, then suddenly all the windows disappear. The is no messagebox reporting anything wrong. So I tried running the program in the debugger hoping that it would somehow trap whatever was causing the program to abort, but even within the debugger the program simply ends abruptly. The last line in the debugger is: The program '[5500] test.exe: Native' has exited with code 0 (0x0). My program which is extremely large and extremely old has a lot of self diagnostics. My suspicion is that perhaps a self test has failed and maybe I just called "exit()", forgetting to pop up a dialog explaining why. My question now is, how can I find out from which point in the code, my program quit?

  • Analysis Services with excel as front end - is it possible to get the nicer UI that powerpivot provi

    - by AJM
I have been looking into PowerPivot and concluded that for "self service BI" and ahoc buidling of cubes it has its uses. In particular I like the enhanced UI that you get from using PowerPivot rather than just using a PivotTable hooked up to an analysis services datasource. However it seems that hooking up PowerPivot to an existing analysis services cube is not a solution for "organisational BI". It is not always desireable to suck millions of rows into excel at once and the interface between PowerPivot and analysis services is very poor in my book. Hence the question is can an existing analysis services solution get the enhanced ui features that power pivot brings, withoout using powerpivot as the design tool? If powerpivot is aimed ad self service/personal BI then it seems bizare that the UI for this is better than for bigger/more costly analysis services solutions.

  • Using fft2 with reshaping for an RGB filter

    - by Mahmoud Aladdin
I want to apply a filter on an image, for example, blurring filter [[1/9.0, 1/9.0, 1/9.0], [1/9.0, 1/9.0, 1/9.0], [1/9.0, 1/9.0, 1/9.0]]. Also, I'd like to use the approach that convolution in Spatial domain is equivalent to multiplication in Frequency domain. So, my algorithm will be like. Load Image. Create Filter. convert both Filter & Image to Frequency domains. multiply both. reconvert the output to Spatial Domain and that should be the required output. The following is the basic code I use, the image is loaded and displayed as cv.cvmat object. Image is a class of my creation, it has a member image which is an object of scipy.matrix and toFrequencyDomain(size = None) uses spf.fftshift(spf.fft2(self.image, size)) where spf is scipy.fftpack and dotMultiply(img) uses scipy.multiply(self.image, image) f = Image.fromMatrix([[1/9.0, 1/9.0, 1/9.0], [1/9.0, 1/9.0, 1/9.0], [1/9.0, 1/9.0, 1/9.0]]) lena = Image.fromFile("Test/images/lena.jpg") print lena.image.shape lenaf = lena.toFrequencyDomain(lena.image.shape) ff = f.toFrequencyDomain(lena.image.shape) lenafm = lenaf.dotMultiplyImage(ff) lenaff = lenafm.toTimeDomain() lena.display() lenaff.display() So, the previous code works pretty well, if I told OpenCV to load the image via GRAY_SCALE. However, if I let the image to be loaded in color ... lena.image.shape will be (512, 512, 3) .. so, it gives me an error when using scipy.fttpack.ftt2 saying "When given, Shape and Axes should be of same length". What I tried next was converted my filter to 3-D .. as [[[1/9.0, 1/9.0, 1/9.0], [1/9.0, 1/9.0, 1/9.0], [1/9.0, 1/9.0, 1/9.0]], [[1/9.0, 1/9.0, 1/9.0], [1/9.0, 1/9.0, 1/9.0], [1/9.0, 1/9.0, 1/9.0]], [[1/9.0, 1/9.0, 1/9.0], [1/9.0, 1/9.0, 1/9.0], [1/9.0, 1/9.0, 1/9.0]]] And, not knowing what the axes argument do, I added it with random numbers as (-2, -1, -1), (-1, -1, -2), .. etc. until it gave me the correct filter output shape for the dotMultiply to work. But, of course it wasn't the correct value. Things were totally worse. My final trial, was using fft2 function on each of the components 2-D matrices, and then re-making the 3-D one, using the following code. # Spiltting the 3-D matrix to three 2-D matrices. for i, row in enumerate(self.image): r.append(list()) g.append(list()) b.append(list()) for pixel in row: r[i].append(pixel[0]) g[i].append(pixel[1]) b[i].append(pixel[2]) rfft = spf.fftshift(spf.fft2(r, size)) gfft = spf.fftshift(spf.fft2(g, size)) bfft = spf.fftshift(spf.fft2(b, size)) newImage.image = sp.asarray([[[rfft[i][j], gfft[i][j], bfft[i][j]] for j in xrange(len(rfft[i]))] for i in xrange(len(rfft))] ) return newImage Any help on what I made wrong, or how can I achieve that for both GreyScale and Coloured pictures.

  • dealloc on Background Thread

    - by Mark Brackett
Is it an error to call dealloc on a UIViewController from a background thread? It seems that UITextView (can?) eventually call _WebTryThreadLock which results in: bool _WebTryThreadLock(bool): Tried to obtain the web lock from a thread other than the main thread or the web thread. This may be a result of calling to UIKit from a secondary thread. Background: I have a subclassed NSOperation that takes a selector and a target object to notify. -(id)initWithTarget:(id)target { if (self = [super init]) { _target = [target retain]; } return self; } -(void)dealloc { [_target release]; [super dealloc]; } If the UIViewController has already been dismissed when the NSOperation gets around to running, then the call to release triggers it's dealloc on a background thread.

  • How can I access data that's stored in my App Delegate from my various view controllers?

    - by BeachRunnerJoe
This question is similar to this other post, but I'm new to iPhone development and I'm getting used to the good practices for organizing my data throughout my app. I understand the ApplicationDelegate object to be the best place to manage data that is global to my app, correct? If so, how can I access data that's stored in my App Delegate from various view controllers? Specifically, I have an array of table section titles for my root table view controller created as such... appdelegate.m sectionTitles = [[NSArray alloc] initWithObjects: @"Title1", @"Title2", @"Title3", nil]; rootViewController.appDelegate = self; and I need to access it throughout the different views of my app, like such... rootviewcontroller.m NSUInteger numSections = [self.appDelegate.sectionTitles count]; Is this the best way to do it or are there any reasons I should organize my data a better way? Thanks so much in advance for your help!
