  • Equivalent of http://www.cplusplus.com/ for C# .net

    - by David Relihan
    Hi Folks I've read through a lot of the "Learn C# .Net" questions just to see if this question was answered already (directly or indirectly). I program mostly in C++ so I find the website http://www.cplusplus.com/ invaluable and there's rarely a day when it is not open in my browser! However, I'm just wondering is there an C# .Net equivalent that people find themselves constantly referencing? The best I'm aware of is: http://stackoverflow.com http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/vcsharp/aa336809.aspx http://www.java2s.com/Tutorial/CSharp/CatalogCSharp.htm Thanks,

  • Javascript check if it has passed midnight since a certain time

    - by Jonah
    I need to create a javascript function that checks if it has been a day since timeX (an instance of Date). I do NOT mean whether is has been 24 hours since timeX, but instead whether it has passed a midnight since timeX. I am a PHP expert, not a JavaScript one, so I was wondering if anyone here had any quick answers. Thanks! function(dateLast, dateNow) {...}

  • JDBC CommunicationsException with MySQL Database

    - by Dominik Siebel
    I'm having a little trouble with my MySQL- Connection- Pooling. This is the case: Different jobs are scheduled via Quartz. All jobs connect to different databases which works fine the whole day while the nightly scheduled jobs fail with a CommunicationsException... Quartz-Jobs: Job1 runs 0 0 6,10,14,18 * * ? Job2 runs 0 30 10,18 * * ? Job3 runs 0 0 5 * * ? As you can see the last job runs at 18 taking about 1 hour to run. The first job at 5am is the one that fails. I already tried all kinds of parameter-combinations in my resource config this is the one I am running right now: <!-- Database 1 (MySQL) --> <Resource auth="Container" driverClassName="com.mysql.jdbc.Driver" maxActive="100" maxIdle="30" maxWait="10000" removeAbandoned="true" removeAbandonedTimeout="60" logAbandoned="true" type="javax.sql.DataSource" name="jdbc/appDbProd" username="****" password="****" url="jdbc:mysql://127.0.0.1:3306/appDbProd?autoReconnect=true&amp;useUnicode=true&amp;characterEncoding=UTF-8" testWhileIdle="true" testOnBorrow="true" testOnReturn="true" validationQuery="SELECT 1" timeBetweenEvictionRunsMillis="1800000" /> <!-- Database 2 (MySQL) --> <Resource auth="Container" driverClassName="com.mysql.jdbc.Driver" maxActive="100" maxIdle="30" maxWait="10000" removeAbandoned="true" removeAbandonedTimeout="60" logAbandoned="true" type="javax.sql.DataSource" name="jdbc/prodDbCopy" username="****" password="****" url="jdbc:mysql://127.0.0.1:3306/prodDbCopy?autoReconnect=true&amp;useUnicode=true&amp;characterEncoding=UTF-8" testWhileIdle="true" testOnBorrow="true" testOnReturn="true" validationQuery="SELECT 1" timeBetweenEvictionRunsMillis="1800000" /> <!-- Database 3 (MSSQL)--> <Resource auth="Container" driverClassName="net.sourceforge.jtds.jdbc.Driver" maxActive="30" maxIdle="30" maxWait="100" removeAbandoned="true" removeAbandonedTimeout="60" logAbandoned="true" name="jdbc/catalogDb" username="****" password="****" type="javax.sql.DataSource" url="jdbc:jtds:sqlserver://127.0.0.1:1433;databaseName=catalog;useNdTLMv2=false" testWhileIdle="true" testOnBorrow="true" testOnReturn="true" validationQuery="SELECT 1" timeBetweenEvictionRunsMillis="1800000" /> For obvious reasons I changed IPs, Usernames and Passwords but they can be assumed to be correct, seeing that the application runs successfully the whole day. The most annoying thing is: The first job that runs first queries Database2 successfully but fails to query Database1 for some reason (CommunicationsException): Caused by: com.mysql.jdbc.exceptions.jdbc4.CommunicationsException: The last packet successfully received from the server was 39,376,539 milliseconds ago. The last packet sent successfully to the server was 39,376,539 milliseconds ago. is longer than the server configured value of 'wait_timeout'. You should consider either expiring and/or testing connection validity before use in your application, increasing the server configured values for client timeouts, or using the Connector/J connection property 'autoReconnect=true' to avoid this problem. Any ideas? Thanks!

  • An affordable way to use multiple Delayed::Job queues

    - by NudeCanalTroll
    I have a Ruby on Rails app that needs process many background jobs simultaneously: anywhere from 5-6 at a time to up to 50-60 at a time depending on the time of day. Right now my app is running on Heroku, which charges $.05/hour per worker, regardless of how much CPU or memory the worker is using. This is costing me a boatload each month... up to $1200/mo. Are there any hosts that will allow me to do what I'm doing for significantly cheaper?

  • I want to scramble an array in PHP

    - by BRUL
    I want PHP to randomly create a multi-dimensional array by picking a vast amount of items out of predefined lists for n times, but never with 2 times the same. Let me put that to human words in a real-life example: i want to write a list of vegetables and meat and i want php to make a menu for me, with every day something else then yesterday. I tried and all i got was the scrambling but there were always doubles :s

  • HT create a new vector in data frame that takes correlation of existing vectors

    - by Milktrader
    I have a time series of two indexes, with each row representing the closing price on the same day. I'd like to go to row 30 and lookback over the last 30 'days' and calculate the pearson correlation. And then store that value in a new vector. Then, repeat the calculation for the entire time series. It is a trivial task in Excel, so I'm convinced it can be done in R. I don't know the method to use though.

  • CCATS needed for non-export iPhone app?

    - by Steve
    I'm getting ready to finally deploy my first iPhone app. The app uses SSL to connect to a REST web service. While reading the docs on deploying the app to the app store, I came across some drivel regarding having to go through a 30 - 60 day government vetting process just to ship an app that simply connects to an HTTPS server. My question is, since this is an export requirement, do apps that are only distributed in the US face this same restriction? Thanks

  • How does assembly language interact with something like the Internet?

    - by Maulrus
    So I was thinking about languages the other day, and it struck me that any program written in a compiled language that interacts with the Internet is then translated into assembly that has to interact with the Internet. I've just begun learning a bit of x86 assembly to help me understand C++ a bit better, and I'm baffled by how something so low-level could do something like access the Internet. I'm sure the full answer to this question is much more than would fit in a SO answer, but could somebody give me maybe a basic summary?

  • Form value not passed to Seam bean after a4j reRender

    - by Casper
    I'm making a webapp in Seam but ran into a problem I can't seem to fix. I have a JSF form where the customer can select a reservation type through a combobox. Based on the selected value, other form components gets rendered. For example: the customer selects Hours as reservation type, a panelGroup gets rendered where the customer can select a start- and an end hour. But if the customer would select 'part of the day' as reservation type, a selectOneMenu gets rendered where the customer can select a part of the day (morning, afternoon, evening) The rerendering well but the values of the components with a rendered conditional won't get passed to the bean. They stay null values. This is the code i'm talking about: <h:panelGrid columns="2"> <h:outputText value="Reservation Type" /> <h:selectOneMenu value="#{selectedPeriodPart}"> <s:selectItems value="#{productManager.getAvailableDayPartsSpot()}" var="daypart" label="#{daypart.label}"></s:selectItems> <s:convertEnum /> <a4j:support ajaxSingle="true" event="onchange" action="#" reRender="spot"></a4j:support> </h:selectOneMenu> <h:outputText id="date_spot" value="Date" /> <a4j:outputPanel id="calendar_spot" layout="block"> <rich:calendar value="#{reservation.reservationPeriod.startDate}" locale="en" cellWidth="24px" cellHeight="22px" style="width:200px" /> </a4j:outputPanel> <h:outputText rendered="#{selectedPeriodPart eq 'DAY_PART'}" value="Daypart" /> <h:selectOneMenu value="#{selectedDaypart}" rendered="#{selectedPeriodPart eq 'DAY_PART'}"> <f:selectItem id="si_morning" itemLabel="Morning (6:00 - 12:00)" itemValue="morning" /> <f:selectItem id="si_afternoon" itemLabel="Afternoon (12:00 - 18:00)" itemValue="afternoon" /> <f:selectItem id="si_evening" itemLabel="Evening (18:00 - 00:00)" itemValue="evening" /> </h:selectOneMenu> <h:outputText rendered="#{selectedPeriodPart eq 'HOURS'}" value="Hours" /> <h:panelGroup id="hours_spot" rendered="#{selectedPeriodPart eq 'HOURS'}"> <ui:include src="/includes/reservation/select_hours.xhtml" /> </h:panelGroup> </h:panelGrid> </s:div></code> Note: The calendar value do get passed back to the bean but the value of this piece of code doesn't (it does if you remove the rendered conditional):

    Given a CoreData-Entity with an date (days) and an ammount called Transaction. Is it with CoreData possible (and how) to aggregate/group the 'table' (with all Transactions) by Date and calculate the sum of the day in a second column/attribute? (the SQL-Solution would be SELECT date, sum(ammount) FROM transaction GROUP BY date)

  • stored procedure for importing txt in sql server db

    - by Iulian
    I have to insert new records in a database every day from a text file ( tab delimited). I'm trying to make this into a stored procedure with a parameter for the file to read data from. CREATE PROCEDURE dbo.UpdateTable @FilePath BULK INSERT TMP_UPTable FROM @FilePath WITH ( FIRSTROW = 2, MAXERRORS = 0, FIELDTERMINATOR = '\t', ROWTERMINATOR = '\n' ) RETURN Then i would call this stored procedure from my code (C#) specifying the file to insert. This is obviously not working, so how can i do it ?

  • How would I go about prevent DLL injection.

    - by wowus
    So the other day, I saw this: http://www.edgeofnowhere.cc/viewtopic.php?p=2483118 and it goes over three different methods of DLL injection. How would I prevent these from the process? Or at a bare minimum, how do I prevent the first one? I was thinking maybe a Ring 0 driver might be the only way to stop all three, but I'd like to see what the community thinks.

  • "This Friday" in bash script

    - by Ben
    Hi, Is there a way to calculate a time stamp for the next coming up of a week day? So for instance, with friday, i'd like to be able to run some code that calculates that from today Wednesday 19/05/10, the next friday will be 21/05/10 and get a time stamp from it. I know the date command can parse a given string date according to a format, but I can't figure out how to calculate "next friday from today" Any idea? Cheers Ben

  • Is there any web service for getting tidal information?

    - by thor
    Has anyone come across a web service or plugin/code/calculation for getting information on tides - namely high and low tide times? I only need this information for one location (outwith the US) but I need it on an ongoing basis so a web service that I can hit once a day or something would be ideal.

  • Multiple Cookie Generation Issue

    - by Shannon
    Hi all, jQuery newbie here. I need to be able to set multiple cookies within the code without have to change out this variable each and every time. Is there any way to make this code generate unique cookies for different pages? As it is now, I'm having to rename that variable for each page that the jQuery animations exist on. (sbbcookiename) Background on the issue: We are having issues with the sliders not autoplaying once one has already been triggered, due to it the cookie having been cached. Thanks for your help. (function(){ jQuery.noConflict(); var _TIMEOUT= 1000, initTimer= 0, sbLoaded= false, _re= null ; initTimer= setTimeout(initSlider, _TIMEOUT); jQuery(document).ready(initSlider); function initSlider(){ if(sbLoaded) return; if (jQuery('#campaign_name').length > 0) { var sbbcookiename = jQuery('#campaign_name').attr('class'); } else { var sbbcookiename = "slider728x90"; } var slideTimeout //timer ,sbTrigger = jQuery('#slidebartrigger') //convenience ,sbFirstSlide = (document.cookie.indexOf(sbbcookiename) == -1) //check cookie for 'already seen today' ; clearTimeout(initTimer); sbLoaded= true; function toggleSlideboxes(){ if(slideTimeout) clearTimeout(slideTimeout); var isDown = sbTrigger.is('.closeSlide'); jQuery('#slidebar')['slide' + (isDown ? 'Up' : 'Down')]((isDown ? 1000 : 1000), function(){ if(sbFirstSlide){ //if 'first time today' then clear for click-to-replay sbTrigger.removeClass('firstSlide'); sbFirstSlide = false; } sbTrigger[(isDown ? 'remove' : 'add') + 'Class']('closeSlide').one('click', toggleSlideboxes); if(!isDown) slideTimeout = setTimeout(toggleSlideboxes, 4000); }); } if(sbFirstSlide){ //not seen yet today so set a cookie for expire tomorrow, then toggle the slide boxes... var oneDay = new Date(); oneDay.setUTCDate(oneDay.getUTCDate()+1); oneDay.setUTCHours(0, 0, 0, 0); //set to literally day-by-day, rather than 24 hours document.cookie=sbbcookiename+"=true;path=/;expires="+oneDay.toUTCString(); toggleSlideboxes(); }else{ //already seen today so show the trigger and set a click event on it... sbTrigger.removeClass('firstSlide').one('click', toggleSlideboxes); } } })();
