    Im just wondering how i use xmlencoder to serialize ArrayList where foo is my own made class. Do i have to do anything in particular, ie define my own xml structure first and then call toString on each value in my list and write it out? Can anyone point me to a good tutorial? http://java.sun.com/products/jfc/tsc/articles/persistence4/ Thats what i have been looking at but it doesnt seem to mention what to do with non library classes.     Hi all i have created a java application which uses data from its config folder and , it also uses third party jar files those are located in lib folder, could anyone tell me how to create jar file for this project with the content stored in config file and lib folder. i tried creating jar using eclipse export functionality. when i run this jar file, it says it can not find the third party libraries that i have used for this project and configuration file. thanks in advance for any help

  • Creating an invisible button in Java Swing

    Hello, I have seen many times on Java Swing GUIs buttons that look like images until the mouse rolls over them. They appear to not have their content area filled. When the mouse rolls over them, the content area fills in but the button looks as though the mouse is not hovering over it. An example of this would be the toolbar of buttons used to activate each demo in SwingSet2. How is this effect possible? Thanks!

    Exception handling aside, I'm using the following to input a line of text in Java: BufferedReader strin = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(System.in)); String txt = null; txt = strin.readLine(); However, I want to be able to edit an existing string, so that if txt were initialized to "hello" instead of null, then the readLine() would have the "hello" text in the buffer for me to edit. I can't see how to do this. Any help would be appreciated.

I found the issue, and it's because the first for loop changes the array order more times than needed and basically it returns as it was at the beginning. I know that probably there's a way to achieve this by writing more code, but i always tend to nest as much as possible to "optimize" the code while i write it, so that's why i tried solving this exercise by using less variables and loops as possible. Thanks in advance for your help!
