  • Optional Fields in Infopath; Getting the xml node with VBA

    - by Sunscreen
    Hi all, I use vb to get data through my form. I have some optional fileds in my form and I have this problem with the following code: MsgBox(myXPathNavigator.SelectSingleNode("/my:Status/my:Questions/my:Questions1", _ Me.NamespaceManager).IsNode.ToString) When the optional filed 'Questions1' is inserted to the form I get the value 'true' by the IsNode function. If the field it is not inserted I have an exception, stating that the reference is not correct (and it is indeed true). Is there a way to verify about a node, whether it is present or not in my form? Thanks in advance, Sun

  • How to reference a string from another package in a library using XML in Android?

    - by Garret Wilson
    The Android documentation tells me that I can access a string from another package by using the "package name", whatever that means: @[<package_name>:]<resource_type>/<resource_name> So in my manifest I want to access a string that I've placed in a separate library project, in the com.globalmentor.android package---that's where my R class is, after all: <activity android:label="@com.globalmentor.android:string/app_applicationlistactivity_label" android:name="com.globalmentor.android.app.ApplicationListActivity" > </activity> That doesn't even compile. But this does: <activity android:label="@string/app_applicationlistactivity_label" android:name="com.globalmentor.android.app.ApplicationListActivity" > </activity> Why? What does the Android documentation mean which it talks about the "package_name"? Why doesn't the first example work, and why does the second example work? I don't want all my resource names merged into the same R file---I want them partitioned into packages, like I wrote them.

  • Is there a better way to deal with reserved characters when parsing XML/JSON data on the iPhone?

    - by Charles S.
    The following code works, but it's ugly and creates a bunch of autoreleased objects. I'm using similar code for parsing reserved HTML characters as well (for quotes, & symbols, etc). I'm just wondering... Is there a cleaner way? NSString *result = [[NSString alloc] initWithString:userInput]; NSString *result2 = [result stringByReplacingOccurrencesOfString:@"#" withString:@"\%23"]; NSString *result3 = [result2 stringByReplacingOccurrencesOfString:@" " withString:@"\%20"]; formatted = [[result3 stringByReplacingOccurrencesOfString:@"&" withString:@"\%26"] retain]; [result release];

  • Prevent <xsi:nil="true"> on Nullable Value Types when Serializing to XML.

    - by Nat Ryall
    I have added some nullable value types to my serializable class. I perform a serialization using XmlSerializer but when the value is set to null, I get an empty node with xsi:nil="true". This is the correct behaviour as I have found here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ybce7f69%28VS.80%29.aspx Is there a way to switch off this option so that nothing is output when the value type is null?

  • How Do I Parse this XML in Java SAX?

    - by Tiever
    I am using the SAX parser in java. I am not sure: 1) What classes I need for this kind of situation? I am guessing I want to have Classes for (please let me know if my thoughts are completely wrong): -FosterHome (Contains an Arraylist of Family and Child) -Family (Contains ArrayList for Child and a String fro parent) -Child (contains ArrayList for ChildID) 2) How to handle this situation in the startElement and endElement method What complicates is due to the ChildID appearing in both the ChildList and the RemainingChildList. Appreciate anyone who can help me out. <FosterHome> <Orphanage>Happy Days Daycare</Orphanage> <Location>Apple Street</Location> <Families> <Family> <Parent>Adams</ParentID> <ChildList> <ChildID>Child1</ChildID> <ChildID>Child2</ChildID> </ChildList> </Family> <Family> <Parent>Adams</ParentID> <ChildList> <ChildID>Child3</ChildID> <ChildID>Child4</ChildID> </ChildList> </Family> </Families> <RemainingChildList> <ChildID>Child5</ChildID> <ChildID>Child6</ChildID> </RemainingChildList> </FosterHome>

  • Twitter API PHP script error

    - by bardockyo
    I am having issues with my php script that I am using for gathering a users followers by accessing the twitter API. The script works fine for a user that has < 5000 followers but I tried adjusting the script using cursors to collect the complete set of users. Here is my script: <?php $cursor = -1; $file = fopen ('ids.csv', 'w+'); fwrite($file, "User id\n\r"); for ($i = 0; $i <= 1; $i++) { $xml = getFollowers($cursor); foreach ($xml->ids->id as $id) { fwrite($file, $id . ", "); fwrite($file, "\n"); } $cursor = $xml->next_cursor; } function getFollowers ($cursor) { $xmldata = 'https://api.twitter.com/1/followers/ids.xml?cursor='.$cursor.'&screen_name=microsoft'; $open = fopen($xmldata, 'r'); $content = stream_get_contents($open); fclose($open); $xml = simplexml_load_file($xmldata); return $xml; } ?> I am getting an error Warning: fopen("https://api.twitter.com/1/followers/ids.xml?cursor=-1&screen_name=microsoft") failed to open stream HTTP request failed bad request warning: stream_get_contents() expects parameter 1 to be resource, boolean given. Any ideas?

  • Update Since Microsoft/PSC Office Open XML Case Study

    - by Tim Murphy
    In 2009 Microsoft released a case study about a project that we had done using the OOXML SDK 1.0 for Research Directors Inc.  Since that time Microsoft has released version 2.0 of the SDK and PSC has done significant development with it.  Below are some of the mile stones we have reached since the original case study. At the time of the original case study two report types had been automated to output as PowerPoint presentations.  Now that the all the main products have been delivered we have added three reports with Word document outputs and five more reports with PowerPoint outputs. One improvement we made over the original application was to create a PowerPoint Add-In which allows the users to tag a slide.  These tags along with the strongly typed SDK 2.0 allows for the code to use LINQ to easily search for slides in the template files.  This allows for a more flexible architecture base on assembling a presentation from copied slide extracted from the template. The new library we created also enabled us to create two new Word based reports in two weeks.  The library we created abstracts the generation of the documents from the business logic and the data retrieval.  The key to this is the mark up.  Content Controls are a good method for identifying sections of a template to be modified or replaced.  Join this with the concept of all data being generically either scalar or two dimensional and the code becomes more generic. In the end we found the OOXML SDK 2.0 to be a great tool for accelerating document generation development and creating happy clients.  del.icio.us Tags: PSC Group,OOXML,Case Study,Office Open XML,Word,PowerPoint
