  • Convert a MSSQL database to MYSQL database

    - by soldieraman
Alright so I want to convert an already exist MSSQL database (2005) to a MYSQL database. There is nothing extraordinary to be done The only things I need to achieve is Recreate the tables Transfer data Relationships would be nice but not necessary No views, no sprocs, no functions. Any easy way to do this. Also do you know of any DST (Database Synchronization Tool) which would let me do MSSQL to MYSQL MYSQL to MYSQL MSSQL to MSSQL (I know there is SQL Delta for this)

  • Which web crawler to use to save news articles from a website into .txt files?

    - by brokencoding
Hi, i am currently in dire need of news articles to test a LSI implementation (it's in a foreign language, so there isnt the usual packs of files ready to use). So i need a crawler that given a starting url, let's say http://news.bbc.co.uk/ follows all the contained links and saves their content into .txt files, if we could specify the format to be UTF8 i would be in heaven. I have 0 expertise in this area, so i beg you for some sugestions in which crawler to use for this task.

    - by menacheb
Hi, I have a Database (Sql-server) with table named 'ProcessData' and columns named 'Process_Name' (Data Type: nvarchar(50)), 'Start_At' (DataType: DateTime) and 'End_At' (Data Type: DateTime). I need to konw for each 'Time-Interval' (let's say 1 second) how many processes (Process_Name = PN) was open (after or equal to the 'Start_at' column and before or equal to the 'End_At' column) during this time (It can be a few rows with the same data). Does anyone know how to make this query? Many thanks,

  • How do you decide which API function documentations to read and how seriously?

    - by Uri
Suppose that you are writing or maintaining a piece of code that uses some API that you are not 100% familiar with. How do you decide whether to read the documentation of a certain call target, and how much time to spend reading it? How do you decide not to read it? (Let's assume you can read it by opening the HTML documentation, inspecting the source code, or using the hover mechanism in the IDE).

  • How can we retrieve value on main.mxml from other .mxml?

    - by Roshan
main.mxml [Bindable] private var _dp:ArrayCollection = new ArrayCollection([ {day:"Monday", dailyTill:7792.43}, {day:"Tuesday", dailyTill:8544.875}, {day:"Wednesday", dailyTill:6891.432}, {day:"Thursday", dailyTill:10438.1}, {day:"Friday", dailyTill:8395.222}, {day:"Saturday", dailyTill:5467.00}, {day:"Sunday", dailyTill:10001.5} ]); public var hx:String ; public function init():void { //parameters is passed to it from flashVars //values are either amount or order hx = Application.application.parameters.tab; } ]]> </mx:Script> <mx:LineChart id="myLC" dataProvider="{_dp}" showDataTips="true" dataTipRenderer="com.Amount" > <mx:horizontalAxis> <mx:CategoryAxis categoryField="day" /> </mx:horizontalAxis> <mx:series> <mx:LineSeries xField="day" yField="dailyTill"> </mx:LineSeries> </mx:series> </mx:LineChart> com/Amount.mxml [Bindable] private var _dayText:String; [Bindable] private var _dollarText:String; override public function set data(value:Object):void{ //Alert.show(Application.application.parameters.tab); //we know to expect a HitData object from a chart, so let's cast it as such //so that there aren't any nasty runtime surprises var hd:HitData = value as HitData; //Any HitData object carries a reference to the ChartItem that created it. //This is where we need to know exactly what kind of Chartitem we're dealing with. //Why? Because a pie chart isn't going to have an xValue and a yValue, but things //like bar charts, column charts and, in our case, line charts will. var item:LineSeriesItem = hd.chartItem as LineSeriesItem; //the xValue and yValue are returned as Objects. Let's cast them as strings, so //that we can display them in the Label fields. _dayText = String(item.xValue); var hx : String = String(item.yValue) _dollarText = hx.replace("$"," "); }//end set data ]]> </mx:Script> QUES : Amount.mxml is used as dataTipRenderer for line chart. Now, I need to obtain the value assigned to variable "hx" in main.mxml from "com/Amount.mxml".Any help would be greatly appreciated?

Let us assume you can represent a program as mathematical function, that's possible. How does the program representation of the first derivative of that function look like? Is there a way to transform a program to its "derivative" form, and does this make sense at all?

  • How can JVM arguments be passed to apps started through java webstart in MacOS?

    - by siva
We have a application which is triggered from browser. This application consumes around 800 mb of memory. This works perfectly when invoked from any browsers in windows OS. The same application when triggered from MacOS throws an out of memory exception which occurs when the application is short of memory. Is there any way to increase the memory allocated for apps running in mac os environment. Also please let me know how JVM arguments can be passed to apps started through java webstart in macOS.

  • How does WCF RIA Services handle authentication/authorization/security?

    - by Edward Tanguay
Since no one answered this question: What issues to consider when rolling your own data-backend for Silverlight / AJAX on non-ASP.NET server? Let me ask it another way: How does WCF RIA Services handle authentication/authorization/security at a low level? e.g. how does the application on the server determine that the incoming http request to change data is coming from a valid client and not from non-desirable source, e.g. a denial-of-service bot?
